Another good project would be the boarding ramp. From what I’ve seen… most of them don’t open very far.

I fixed mine after removing all the screws, it was just a matter of grabbing it as close to the joint as possible and gently but firmly force it to fully open and close a few times to wear down whatever part of the joint was causing that issue (i couldn't take the Falcon apart, there was something stuck, otherwise i couldv'e just use a file). I also filed down the clips on the sides a little bit, they had problems unhooking when i tried to open the ramp. Worked like a charm

Hi, just wanted to update you about my Falcon. Fun fact, i ordered the first edition on amazon (which was supposed to lack the engine painting and the seat hooks to keep the figures in place, improvements added in the next releases). The box was the right one but A) they shipped it in a plain paper bag with no stuffing of any kind so the box' "window" got damaged and B) the box was opened and they replaced the 1ed falcon with one of the improved versions. Except for that it was fine, in perfect conditions, with working electronics and the right minifigures, so i didn't mind being "scammed". They literally sent me a better version of what i wanted and it was in mint conditions, who cares.
That said, i tried to take it apart but there is a single spot on the bottom that doesn't want to detach, about halfaway between the right side of the engine and the access ramp, in the middle of that small cargo bay with the refrigerator and the ammo box.
I gave up because it felt like i was about to break something for good, maybe someday i'll try again with the help of a hair dryer when i have time.
Anyway, i just wanted to thank you again for the tips and for this video. If i manage to solve the issue and customize the corridor i'll let you know 🙃

Hey! That's a wild turn of events with your Falcon. Amazon definitely dropped the ball on the packaging, but it sounds like they ended up doing you a favor with the surprise upgrade! At least everything was in good condition.
As for the stubborn panel, I totally understand wanting to be cautious. Maybe a hair dryer is the answer! Just be careful with the heat, maybe start on low and see if it loosens the connection.
I'm always happy to hear how projects go, so absolutely keep me posted if you manage to detach the panel and customize the corridor. I'd love to see what you come up with!

@@randomprojecttime Still didn't have time unfortunately but at least i have a plan: thick paper and thin cardboard hardened with super glue. It doesn't just allow me to build interiors easily, but i can pre-paint it with regular markers and the glue works like a charm to make it waterproof (pointless on a collectible, expecially one with electronics, but still...).
I built a few MH greatswords for my dianauts that way and they came out awesome. Incredibly detailed. Can't wait to do the interiors on the Falcon.
