Oh indeed. There is _so_ much more that can be done. In a way, it was a nice introduction to the modding scene, since it wasn't complete sensory overload.
And the AWP was so strange - the audio trace looks absolutely fine in Vegas, but what it does to my goddamn ears...
@@TamiyaGuy123 Most of the modded sound files for L4D2 have to play ball with the existing vanilla sound library. If the M16's gunfire lasts for 2 seconds, in 41000Hz stereo, then so does the modded gunfire. If the MP5 requires 20500Hz for some godforsaken reason, then it's high time the modder bends over. Anything about 48000Hz and expect complete silence as the sound engine can't handle that.
Additionally, if a modded file doesn't have enough dead silence space, then expect a screech after the file is done playing. Speaking of sound engines, if you have too many 4K or HD texture mods, there's also a good chance that L4D2 just stops playing sounds for a moment. In a game that relies on _sound_ for intel, that is just a death sentence.
Source: I scour the workshop for every gun mod I fancy, download them and mod them further with _Insurgency Sandstorm_ foley sounds that someone else extracted. I also once uploaded a mod that changes every single Tank voiceline into Lisa Minci, just because.
