    The idea of Audrey Hepburn having an affair with William Holden while she was with Mel Ferrer is absolutely false. The filming of Sabrina took place from late September-November 1953 which is when the affair with Holden took place. Audrey and Mel Ferrer got together while they were in Ondine on Broadway. The first rehearsal for Ondine was 1/1/1954. They were married on September 25, 1954.

      she married mel in 1954, Sabrina was produced in 1954. so obviously they were together, they may have not been married yet but they were together.

      @@evelync3915 she was introduced to Mel by Gregory Peck at a cocktail party, this was before production for Sabrina began. Sources claimed that Mel and Audrey had a lot of “sexual tension,” but she knew that Mel was married and had 3 kids of his own, so she didn’t really give him a second glance after that party. Then Sabrina began, where she and Holden had their love affair, but it ended when he said he had a vasectomy and couldn’t give her children. Mel came back into the picture with divorce papers and started hanging around Audrey, back in those days they called it going steady, or “dating” on the low. Kind of a ratty move on Mel’s part since she was heartbroken over her breakup with Holden and Mel took advantage of that, imo. I even read that she was hesitant to accept Mel’s proposal, but gave in away.

      Yeah, she had two children. One of her children wrote a book about life behind the scenes.

      Well, she did have a lot of unfortunate miscarriages and I believe one still birth. I don’t know if this has anything to do with it, but I believe that her body wasn’t adequately adapted to carrying children to full term considering the effects of the war on her, I’m still amazed she had 2 sons.

    She wasn't what she appeared to be. Don't get me wrong she was a great actress and I don't believe she was a bad person but certainly not the epitome of class and grace. Now I couldn't care less who she went to bed with but when she is made out to be this graceful classy good girl and when people are always bringing down other women that are compared to her is where I have a problem.

      She was graceful and had great class, no matter what her private love life was like. Most of the affairs she had weren’t stemmed because she had no dignity or shame, it was because she has no father figure in her life to guide her on what a wife should and shouldn’t do and what she was supposed to look for in a man. Most of the time she choose men who were like father figures to her, to fill that empty void of having been abandoned by her own at only 6 years old. She also, in my opinion, had PTSD from WW2, which certainly didn’t mix well with her abandonment/father/trust issues.

      Not sure the dictionary font was needed. I'm sure you thought you did something there but you didn't. Also just for the record I didn't suggest she didn't possess those traits because she most certainly did in her films and the way she presented herself to the public. However that's where it ends. No where in my comment did I state those traits were "mutually exclusive" as you say but the bottom line is you cannot sleep around with people who are married and still be considered a classy person. It just doesn't work like that lol. To me she's not above all the other golden age stars that had affairs and did the casting couch because she herself did too. She just presented herself in a different way which is most likely why her affairs are so often overlooked.Never understood why people are so quick to put her on a pedestal.

    • @SuicideboysGrey59
      @SuicideboysGrey59 Před 3 lety

      She’s human and made mistakes, it’s not her fault that people have idealized her as some kind of saint and goddess. In all actuality, if you look deeper into WHY she had the affairs, you’d see that it wasn’t because she loved the thrill of it, it stemmed back to deep abandonment issues of her own father leaving her at 6 years old just before the war broke out. She never knew how to pick out “Mr. Right,” because her own father left her with no guidance, and her mother was anything but doting. Besides, affairs in Hollywood happened more often than you think, it wasn’t just Audrey, and to be frank, her husband, Mel, started having affairs first and even grew jealous and controlling of her career. Her son, Sean, said that she should’ve divorced Mel years earlier than what she did, but she had a high standard for marriage (Victorian era) and only kept the marriage going for the sake of respecting it, she didn’t want to end up divorced 2x like her mother before. There’s more than what’s on the surface, basically, if you just do a little digging before formulating negative opinions on people.

      @@love_agapi_m3976 I’m sure she wasn’t proud of it either, but if you do a little background research, you’d see why she had them. She wasn’t a thrill seeker or a little miss home wrecker, she had deep abandonment issues that followed her for the rest of her life. Her story is actually kind of sad, she’s a very strong woman, but she had a sad origin that basically traumatized her for life. I even believe she suffered from PTSD, from having lived through ww2.

      some questions are hard - but yours is easy
      She was the most gorgeous woman most people have ever seen - her acting was effortless - you believed she was truly every character she played - her speech pattern was such that she seemed like the smartest, most elegant, most sophisticated person on the planet (well her and a guy called Cary Grant). And just when you realized she was a porcelain goddess of perfection that was untouchable she smiled and her sparkling eyes brought her back to earth as someone just like you and me (albeit just a little more sophisticated, talented and pretty than us, or anyone that has ever lived, accept Cary they were equals)

      @kiranjit rana Mansfield and Hepburn were completely different from each other though. Mansfield was just a clone brought on by MGM as a threat to Monroe that they could easily replace her (obviously not).
