Will the median nerve be affected if ONLY the Lower trunk or only the upper trunk are damaged?
Would the median nerve function normally, or would some (or even all) of the muscles supplied by the median nerve become paralyzed?
Would the fibers from the unaffected trunk compensate for the fibers of the damaged trunk?
Thank you :)
The root value of the median nerve is C5, C6, C7, C8 and T1.
Lateral root from the lateral cord (upper and middle trunk): C5,6,7
Medial root: from Lower trunk from C8 and T1.
Damage of any root will affect the related myotomes.
@@AdelBondok Thank you ❤❤ So it is a complicated relationship. The muscles supplied by the median nerve will only be paralyzed if the root supplying their myotome is affected. Makes sense 👌 Have a great day.

❤️🌹❤️
Thank you so much sir♥️
You are most welcome. ❤❤
Excellent
💙❤
Best explanation dear sir but please sir also explains the clinical aspects of every part of body
Thank you. Clinical aspect is explained with each topic.
Thanks ❤
🌹❤️💙❤️🌹
Sir why in book for the braches from posterior cord except radial nerve the root value is given as c5 and c6 alone
Shudnt the root value be c5 c6 c7 c8 and T1 for all braches from posterior cord?
The radial nerve contains fibers from all the roots. The other branches are not.
@@AdelBondok thankyou sir
