    "Justice then love" is also a very Christian outlook: You can't really accept the gospel without understanding the justice part of the story.

  • @ptavangar
    @ptavangar Před 4 lety

    She makes a lot of incorrect generalizations though. That's the only thing I don't like and the fact that she could get through to more white people if she weren't so combative and declaratory.

    • @leelindsay5618
      @leelindsay5618 Před 4 lety +5

      @ptavangar what you did right here was mansplanning. Try watching Mrs. Elliott's whole exercise. Like her shirt, prejudice is an emotional connection to ignorance.
      It takes strength to challenge the ideas you were taught. Do you have that strength?

    • @ptavangar

      @@ptavangar I never asked if you were a man. Your words made it abundantly clear that you feel women should be less combative and less direct. Yes, you used little that could be called wisdom. I asked if you were strong enough to challenge what you have been taught.

    Columbus landed in America and demanded gold from the natives with the alternative being families sold to slavery and daughters (some very young) sold off as sex slaves. The Catholic Church, centuries later, seeing a bunch of Presidents with holidays but no Catholic boys honored in America with a holiday, chose Columbus because we already had a bunch of things named after him already (just not Cristoforo Colombo), and Cortes and Pizarro were too obviously Spanish (wrong kind of white). They just decided on a guy with a pre-existing white supremacist myth who was actually a greedy sadistic psychopath. Good job, Vatican.

    • @KelliSchultzkasiola
      @KelliSchultzkasiola Před 4 lety

      Columbus never set one foot in America. That's another white lie. He landed on an island in the Bahamas called San Salvador.
