Who’s Sargent Highway and how many Purple Hearts does this poor NCO have???
It's a reference to the 1986 film _Heartbreak Ridge_ where Clint Eastwood plays the lead character, Sergeant Tom Highway
You'd think he would have been medically retired at this point but the man is just indestructible.
Who says there is only one of them? Could be hundreds of them, kinda like every Arab in existence is called Mohamed.
@@MichaelDavis-mk4me thats racist lmao. im not arab but my name is Mohammad
@@torides. Oh sorry I offended your feelings, I should have said "Muslim" instead of "Arab", because the Mohammad name is super trendy. It's a plain and simple fact, barring my exaggeration of saying every single one is called like that which is a concept called "humor", that all of the top 5 names Arab and Muslim names are variations of Mohammad. Mohammeds, Mohameds, Mohammads, Muhammads, Ahmeds. You can rename yourself to "Sergeant Highway" if you want to spice things up. Also, the fact that it only took a few hours for a Mohammad to read and comment on this really made me laugh, it really just shows how common the name is.
Holy air superiority
Its good to be aggressive but in moderation. You forgot to push with AA initially
That counter-attack in the second battle felt a bit wreckless tbh
classic mistake of forgetting to move up AA
@@Sharahdogmeat also all those wasted Bradley's
Lack of recon infantry in US armor and mech battalions can be really painful...
49:05 dude those scouts are literally erased from existance, id be amazed if anyone even remembers their names they just got dematerialized so hard lmao. thanks for the series
Do remember you have AA OH-58s in the Apache tho mg
Whats up bro. Love the content. Cheers from Estonia
Man that first battle was beautiful. You make this game really cool and fun dude keep it up
If you play the USSR, the you really get all the stuff the AI gets? I guess this is the easy mode for beginners if so, the amount of stuff they get is insane compared to NATO, even quality wise it's better with infinite T-80s, you couldn't really lose as a player from what I see.
Yeah I’ve played both and it kinda makes sense as Pact is the winner in the Fulda campaign in the “canon” (if there’s even one) ad they’ve pushed beyond the objectives in this campaign as is seen in Highway 66 campaign where their extent at the beginning is almost near Hanau
@@panzerothelake2178 Ok, well it's a smart way of making easier campaigns for beginners without just lowering the difficulty. That way, you can lose a million units without breaking too much of a sweat. Realism wise though, it's questionable that NATO wouldn't deploy their own troops following a complete deployment of the entire Soviet army, especially since they had satellite. But I don't care, because it's a game and I want cool scenarios.
I really like these videos. Also, I agree that it feels strange how terrible IFVs like BMPs and Bradleys are at fighting infantry, which is literally what they are made for. They should be able to fight infantry at almost all ranges but since basically all infantry in the game has AT, the vehicles get popped so easily as soon as they are in range.
Another set of superb battles ;-P. Just thinking - in second battle, your left flank - behind the lake - dont You think that placing Abrams there could be a good thing? Bradleys are great, but their missiles travel so long... throwing some fast traveling projectiles from that flank could be a bit of a harm for soviets ;-)
Regarding losses - in likewise games I spend like 50% in pause, just to increase my situational awarness. You are doing most of the things while the game plays and you are splitting your attention to several areas. This always comes with higher losses, so dont worry - consider this as a result of a playing style. I think for the sake of YT videos playing this game Your way is actually best choice. Maybe, just maybe, you pay not enough attention to the map, but I guess it is a matter of priorities - sharing attention is still sharing, not adding some more attention ;-). There is a limited pool of attention one can have. Anyway, superb play, I look forward for next battles...
makes 100,000 American soldiers vs 100,000 German soldiers
Need taliban in warno
Not cold war. I wish we had modern wargame, but cold war is what we always get. As for Taliban, they wouldn't make a good army or campaign, they just don't have the equipment to make viable divisions and their campaign would just be waiting for the Americans to leave with minor skirmishing in between.
Wrong theater.
Playing as the US-backed Afghans against the Soviets and vice versa? I could dig that as a campaign. The topography would be brutal!
@@GoodEggGuy It also wouldn't work, tanks don't have max gun elevation and will just pop all your infantry. Planes have perfect accuracy, you won't be able to fight back. You might get stingers, but in Warno planes survive multiple hits. You might get RPGs, but scouts have magic eyeball that you'll never get to fire your unguided RPG at a tank. Unless they make it so there is no frontline and you can ambush the Soviets when they only have a handful of units, which does not sound very fun.
The only way it would be fun is if we are talking about fictional Cyber-Afghanistan that has an actual army.
@@MichaelDavis-mk4me Infantry + air superiority would be your only way into the mountains. Armor still rules the valleys, except where ambushed close-in by RPG using insurgents. Honestly, the difference in play style and the asymmetrical nature of the combat would be fascinating. YMMV.
