Getting rid of Roque is just gonna look bad on the sporting director, Xavi and the club on a whole. Look at Madrid and what they did with Vinicius and Rodrygo. They weren't the players they are today. Vinicius missed many chances in front of goal but they keep at him and showed faith. Barca spending that kind of money and then letting him go, really shouldn't sit well with the fans.

If we spent 40+ millions on Roque just to loan him, and possibly destroy him, then we are a joke of a club. He barely got to play, and it takes time for a player who came from Brazil to Spain to get all the aspects on how this team should play. The Vitor Roque situation should be concerning. Especially looking at the recruitment department, why bring in a player for that amount of money just to send out on loan? We must question our scouts and sporting director. He needs game time. Vini's first season at Madrid was difficult but he grew over time with consistent game time and Roque needs that. We can't be relying on a 36 yr old striker for the entire season. Barca strikers need pace, all great Barca sides had a quick no. 9 and Lewa isn't that. He can contribute but he shouldn't be a regular next season, unfortunately.
Xavi needs to stop with the favourtism, Spanish players seem to get first preference and unlimited chances. It's disappointing, give Roque chances and he'll come good

As a hispanic/american fan of Barça for about 17 years now, its become hard to ignore the fact of the matter. At Barca, La Masia is most important and that is why I love this club. But more and more the identity of this club is becoming our ignorance. If a player is foreign they are given less opportunities, less patience. When a player is from Spain, they are preferred and favored. The club can function as they want, I accept, but as a foreigner, not from Spain, I do have to admit it is something I’ve tried to ignore year after year and it saddens me to see a young player being treated like this.

I think it would be best for Lewa and Barca for him to move on this summer. Lewa needs to be fed balls into the box - enough of those and he will work his magic. Barca doesn't play that way, they prefer to set up and poke and prod and then attack from the wings. Their play totally lacks dynamism, unless they are forced to counterattack. The end result is Leva has no space to work with, as he is always surrounded by 4 opponents. He scored three goals virtually on his own against Valencia, but that is not going to happen more than a few times a year.

All those guys you named are nobodies who have done nothing in the sport. That's why you're a couch "expert" and not a real coach. You'd be fired after 3 weeks. The expectations at this club are trophies. Xavi has to start his strongest squad and every match is a must win. People are whinging and moaning about a 2nd place finish. If we started all the names you mentioned on top of all the kids we already play we'd basically be a La Masia youth side competing in La Liga and would finish mid table.

@avikellerman4539 I will happily accept title of couch coach. I don't have the talent or experience of Xavi. But it doesn't mean I'm blind to football. I said give them a chance. Didn't say start all the kids at the same time. Chance means you find spaces to give them a good run of games. You encourage the positive things and correct the negative things in their game. Not all of them will become world class but at least there is due diligence to figure out which COULD. Yes there's been pressure to win. But you can't deny that even when Xavi has the chance to give someone a proper chance, he hasn't always taken it. Most times favoring those he "likes" productivity be damned.

Xavi has given debuts to around 15 La Masea graduates. He knows a players' potential more than any of us because he sees them regularly in training. He was right all along about Fati but as always our sentimental fanbase criticised him. He was right when he wanted Alba and Busi to stay for another season but our fanbase criticised him for playing his friends. Time and again Xavi has proven that he was right. A manager brave enough to start a 17 year old in heart of the defence in an UCL quarter would not have any problem playing an 18 year old over lewa if he saw fit.
Maybe roque is finding it difficult to adapt from the Brazilian league to the Barcelona way of playing as a 9. Even a veteran like lewa found it difficult, roque is still a kid. So if Xavi believes it's best for roque to leave on loan, just ffs trust his instinct for once instead of continuously criticizing his every other decision

I don't particularly appreciate bringing free transfers for the sake of it. It would be best if you improved the squad in every way possible. Christensen has done an excellent job and if you need for a backup transfer then bring a La Masia player and not a 30-year-old bench warmer Betis player.

I can definitely understand your Pov on this situation and I agree with you that Xavi is the one who has to decide what player he wants. Hopefully before xavi agreed to continue they had found a common ground for next summer.
One thing I can see coming though is that We loan him out to Atletico so that Laporta can keep Felix Happy 🤷🏾‍♂️

I never thought Ferran is at the level to play for Barcelona. He is just an average player who could play for a mid table team. There are many other players in the Barca squad who should be shown the door out of the club.
Why don’t you give Vito a few chances before you sent him out on loan. It is crazy. Give that guy a few chances before you send him out on loan. He seems to have quality

I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like nobody knows what's the long term plan at this club.
Xavi has gotten 1 more season but he has no idea what the long term plan is, if it's gonna include him or not. Is he only at the club cuz there was no other suitable candidate? I won't be surprised if he announces his resignation again.
Deco seems to be on a completely different page to everyone else. He wants to sign more physical sort of players, and favours the South American market a lot. I'm also not convinced by the slightest with his negotiating skills.
And laporta... I don't even know where to begin. He seems fixated on keeping Xavi no matter how bad we get. Allows Mendes too much influence on club dealings. Behind the scenes as well, it looks as if he's falling out with board members leading to some of them resigning. Gets in people like Deco, who I feel aren't equiped to hold such powerful positions at the club. Is he already thinking about the elections next year? Is his mind on that and wants the coming season to be a write off? If so then we're in big big trouble.

Remember that game against Mallorca where Lewandowski was suspended and Xavi still chose to put Vitor Roque on the bench. After that moment I realized that Vitor Roque is probably not going to get many opportunities. I see it highly likely that Vitor Roque ends up being sold or loaned out which is very depressing.

Always happy to see Jamie unbiased views on the Barca situation. I totally agree that Xavi right now like having no power to make any decisions and now everything js being left to the power of those above him who does not know much of the sporting well as per Xavi. If this goes on unchecked long term Barca as a club will collapse. This need to be sorted out ASAP the communication issue.
