⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Fantastic video. Thanks so much for creating & sharing. I appreciate that, as a Jew, your insight & knowledge is remarkable and as a gentile I would have not known or otherwise learned. Great work & I'm astonished at the inner structures of the Temple, I never imagined there was any other space around or within the Temple structure itself. The donation boxes are so relevant & it is always fascinating when one is shown 'there is nothing new under the sun.' ❤❤❤❤

I Wholeheartedly recommend the Biblical Hebrew course that Rabbi David offers. It is an eight month course once a week for 1 1/2 hours on Zoom and with relevant homework assignments and with group engagement. It's been over a year since I graduated and I'm still using the knowledge and tools that I acquired! AND, the Hebrew grammar chart that the Rabbi has developed is phenomenal! 😄👍

A "gentile" does not mean you are not a physical descendant of Israel. If you study the history of the Olive Tree in Scripture, it began as one tree. But after Solomon sinned, the Kingdom became divided and the Olive Tree split into two: Israel and Judah. Then Israel whored and was cast into the wilderness, becoming a wild olive tree, a "gentile" tree. Israel became gentiles by mixing with all nations. This is why at Pentecost in Acts 2, we see all the nations gathered together with Judah, because they are the two houses reunited: Judah and all the nations Israel mixed with. Prophecy was fulfilled. But now we await for all of Israel and Judah to reunite at the return of the Messiah Yahushaa.

I saw a documentary about the Temple where a British cleric said something very curious: "Jesus is a walking Temple!"
If we analyze the entire structure of the tabernacle in the desert and the structure of the temple in Jerusalem, it must point to Jesus, the definitive Temple of God, for those who believe.
God always wanted to walk and be close to his creatures, in the tabernacle and in the Temple of Jerusalem He could only do this partially, few could feel his presence. But in the beginning, when the beings He created had not yet sinned, he went down and talked face to face with Adam and his wife, Eve. God returns to walk among people in the person of Jesus.
That's why the powerful people in the temple didn't want Him around and did everything they could to get rid of Him. Where He was, God's great truths were taught, wonders happened. Such facts brought envy.

Very nice! An excellent tool to see forms and sizes of the temple. But this temple (and basically all the modern reconstructions) lacks the classical ornaments and entablatures of classic design (they are hard to render). The jerusalem temple was full of beautiful carvings and details (flower patterns, palmettes, acanthus patterns etc). Just look at the Baalshamin Temple in Syria, or the Bacchus temple in Lebanon. Seriously, go to google and search the "Door of Bacchus Temple". It is magnificent. And the Jerusalem temple is said to be the most beautiful of the entire region, so it was more beautiful than the Bacchus Temple. Look at the carvings at the Door. It is incredible. I can only imagine how excellent was the Jerusalem Temple.
The upper part of the door of the Heikhal was carved as a shell (Vieira, I dont know in english, sorry). You can see the door in many samaritan and jewish ancient synagogues. The door was iconic.

The lamp stands were a little more than half the height of the Temple, so they look about right, just too narrow at the bottom. Placement for the Chamber of Hewn Stone is about right. (It would not have been accessible from the Israeli court). From what I have found in research, the Temple side chambers (actually sides and back) were entered through the side tunnel on the right when both doors to the Sanctuary were closed. The rooms at the end of the Porch were used to maintain the chains, knives axes saws etc. used in everyday operation of the Temple. Yes, I am in process of doing my own version of this. Information comes from the Mishnah, Flavius Josephus, Dr. Leen Ritmeyer and others. There was supposedly a room above the Sanctuary (accessed by the second door on the roof)? That then led to the room that was used to lower priests into the Holy of Holies for cleaning, but they always faced the wall. Well done walk through (I know how hard it is to do lol).

The tapestry separating the Holy of Holies should have been one piece, not a traditional curtain with a split in the middle as shown in the app. Exodus 26:31-35 says it was a curtain (singular) which is further born out by its tearing at Jesus death (Luke 23:45) and the meaning of which was explained in Hebrews 10:21-22. The New Testament writers, so close to the existence of the actual temple would not have gotten that detail wrong by any means and the Hebrew writing bears this out in Exodus 26

Fun fact, Jesus was at the temple in John 8 when He said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12). During the time when Jesus made this statement it was The Feast of Booths (chapter 7) and Jesus was teaching in the temple in Jerusalem. These lamp stands that were in the courtyard would have been obviously noticeable if they were as large as the Mishnah claims (Mishnah Sukkah 5:2-3). The people in the courtyard would have been in awe of these illuminated structures but notice what Jesus does, He redirects their attention from looking at these lamp stands and states, “I am the light of the world...” This as well as many other times in Jesus’ ministry Jesus takes the physical edifice of the temple and the objects in it and redirects His audience to Himself as being the fulfillment of these objects which only foreshadowed the reality of them in the person of Christ.

Thank you! I am glad to see you are continuing your work. I am doing the same. All ways looking for parallels. Can I use this as an opportunity to learn? I have read that on any given night there could be as many as 1000 or more persons working in a great verity of takes to keep everything working and in order. I spent many hears in my younger in the Washington DC area. I federal government had a great impact on the surrounding area. Everyone knew someone who worked for the federal government. Would this have been true of the temple? I have also heard that the city population could increase by as many as 1 million on festival days. One idea this video shows so nicely is the great size. I would not expet it would be so big unless their ware larger numbers of visitors. Yours truly, Andrew

Absolutely fantastic. Several years ago I travelled to Jerusalem and stood at the side of the Place of the Gentiles where the Royal Court used to be. I tried to take it all in and imagine where the Temple used to stand but it was hard to do - this app shows me for the first time what the Temple Mount must have looked like in the 1st century.
One question - where do you think the tables of the money changers Jesus is said to have kicked over would have been? My guess is they would have been inside the Women’s Court or certainly lining the outside walls of that Court, inside the Soreg. Their location would have needed to incur Jesus’ wrath and so are unlikely to have been merely in the Court of the Gentiles.

All the prices would go up a bit like shopping now and how irritated you get with the food prices. If you needed to sacrifice and the price was too high you would just leave the temple and then what would you do! I would love to use a horse whip on my local supermarket shelves!

This brought tears to my eyes....the tour, the phenomenal virtual reconstruction, but most of all, your voice and vibration of love for GOD. I am a believer in JESUS CHRIST and I pray that you open your heart to the true Messiah, prophesied in Isaiah 53:5, the final lamb sacrificed for all mankind to which the temple sacrifices pointed the way. "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed." Isaiah 53:5 GOD bless you and all here.

This is incredible! I am a Jewish believer in Yeshua the Messiah, today in the New Covenant God gave to Israel and the world (Jeremiah 31:31-33) our bodies become the Temple of the Ruach HaKodesh! (Ezekiel 36:26-27) Yeshua is the promised Messiah, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world! (Isaiah 53) please read these scriptures and ask Adonai sincerely to open your eyes to the truth! All of this points to the Messiah! 🐑👑♥️🇮🇱🌎

I too follow Yeshua and from Levi (a musician). In Matthew 4:5 The roof top portion reminded me when the devil brought Yeshua up to pinnacle of the temple to throw himself down and quoted Ps 91:11-12 "He will give His angels charge concerning You' and "On their hand they will bear You up, lest you strike Your foot against a stone" and Yeshua quoted Duet 6:16 "Yeshua said to him " On the other hand, it is written, "You SHALL Not PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST"

My understanding is the steps to the court of the priest were uneven. I believe the source is Josephus. The approach to God was meant to be a thoughtful and purposeful procession, and having uneven steps where you had to slow down and think about where you were walking, made sure it wasnt just a rote experience.
Also, the reason the court of priests had no windows was because the light that filled that space came from God. The glory of God they believe was so powerful that it could consume an impure individual. If there were windows that light could get out and harm the impure. Like the glory of God lit the burning bush when Moses approached.
The incense was symbolic of the prayers of the believers as an offering to God, on Yom Kippur the burned incense was brought into the Holy of Holies and set upon the altar.
I would suggest reading Temple Themes in the Book of Moses to really understand tge symbolism of everything done in the temple. Margaret Barker also has written about this subject as well.
