Really good job on the frying! To dust the confectioners sugar on and get a really perfect, even coating, use a sieve (sifter) to filter out the large chunks

Hey, late here but your oil wasn't hot enough for frying yet. It hadn't gotten up to 350 when you put the twinkie in, so it soaked up more oil then it should have. That's why you got the oil coating in your mouth. If it was at the right temp, it would have bubbled like mad. Also, to dust has two meanings here. First one, roll the twinkie in the flour then gently tap it off to get excess flour off before putting batter on. For the second 'dusting', put the powdered sugar in a sifter or a mesh strainer, then tap it over the item so it drops out like snowfall. There you go.
Its that and the twinkie wasnt fully covered in batter

All of these brutalfoods videos have helped me so much over the past few months. I always come back to these videos when I feel sad or worried. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and two days later my dad was diagnosed with leukemia. It has been really hard when I’m 19 and have both parents receiving cancer treatment. Tonight I’m watching because there might be something wrong with my dads heart and I need a good distraction. Thank you
