Karl was the antithesis of someone famous. He returned my messages and we started a conversation online. I found out firsthand how truly beautiful he was and will always be in my heart.
Glad to have found this footage. Since KW passed, have been deep diving into his concerts, radio gigs, and interviews. This one is particularly hard-hitting with incredible energy. RIP, Sir. You tragically left this Big Blue Ball far too soon. 😢
Same situation with me. After I heard about Karl passing, I've been listening to his music and learning so much more than I did initially...and I was a pretty big fan since discovering them when "Bang!" came out anyway. "Sooner or Later" has become my new favorite song since re-listening to everything.
I'm so glad I'm not alone here. His passing ripped my heart out and I've been searching for footage I hadn't seen yet. I was CRANKING World Party in a parking lot after getting dinner last night and some guy motioned to me. I was thinking someone wanted me to turn it down. When I did he said "NO! LOUDER PLEASE!". Made my night.
We have all been so blessed by musicians in our journey that we sometimes take it for granted yet there is nothing more important or greater than the magic it makes us feel 🌍✌🏼
A hidden gem someone found on a tape hidden at the back of the cupboard. Saw them supporting Steely Dan in the Hunter Valley Australia We World Party People salute you.!
I was there that day in the Hunter Valley, and remember talking to people there who said they were there mainly to see World party. I went to Australia to see all the Steely Dan shows on that tour and the great unknown bonus was seeing World Party open every show. I didn’t really know World Party at the time, not outside of Way Down Now, anyway.
Karl minds me, of that great American lost Soul- Rodrigues. A very similar natural beauty, lacking ego. Both infinitely bigger than their appreciation...
Bloody magnificent, so familiar with the soundtrack but never ever seen the vision... Miraculous to be able to witness how well they truly cooked before such bad luck befell Karl with the aneurysm. Many many thanks for the up.
I can't believe the crowd isn't more engaged with dancing, moving, or singing along! Of course, I'm only on the first song. Maybe they get more engaged. Love World Party!
What wonderful music. So great to see it here! Unfortunately grotesquely wrongly announced by the German presenter. He announces Karl Wallinger as former guitarist, singer and head of the Waterboys…😮 he played keyboards in Mike Scott‘s band.
Sad to hear Karl passed away. He was a great musician out of the commercial mayhem. A true artist.
R.I.P Carl terribly sad news that he passed away. ❤
Karl we are all going to miss you 💔
Karl was my musical hero for over 35 years. I met him in 2014 and got tongue-tied like a fanboy. He was a sweetheart in person. Beyond sad

A Happy Maker with his music. We’ll miss him ❤
Chris Sharrock and Dave Catlin-Birch really had amazing chemistry with Karl live. Great lineup.
Im agree with you!
how great to see this....wonderful concert. I recall seeing them as a support (along with the Pretenders) on the U2 Joshua Tree tour. Great days!
Gone but not forgotten - so very sad - you were creative in all senses ......... humour - everything ..........😢
Karl is an original, goofy and profound at the same time

Excellent band and songs - I’ve loved this band since the early 80s when I was a soldier stationed in Germany - thank you for this
A musical genius has left us. See you on the other side.
Awesome Mr Wallinger - RIP - you are the only druid I listen to. Just heard the awful news. Shine! ❤

It is never a good idea to speak badly about the deceased, but he was a rather wicked left-wing radical John Lennon-ish type of Libra with glasses😊😊
Thank you so much beatcrazyness! Karl Wallinger - One of the finest lyricists of all time!
Stellar, question nothing, and everything, let love reason and why we breath into this moment of life, sing your song, be free
"You gotta love yourself to make a better day". Miss you Karl...
All he gave was him ❤️
Best ever WP line up Chris Sharrock is the glue,
Love you Karl! R.i.p!
OH MY GOD what a great show!!!

I enjoyed the 1st world party record best. It's a great album as a whole.
Brilliant. Brilliant rearrangement. Damn
This is a criminally underrated comment.
Thanks for sharing this!
Thank you!
Love this
Great time for melodies and music.
track list: radio days (from bang) in between "it is too late" and "sunshine"
Saw them open for 10,000 maniacs in Philadelphia for this album. Still enjoying that cd Bang in 2022. Thanks You, just fantastic to see .
In 2024... I pulled up the Discography and had to remember this was after PRIV-REVOL (1986), GOODBYE JUMBO (1990) and BANG! (1993).
I have Bang it is good enough
Very cool to see this on CZcams!
RIP Karl......
Karl's not gone. He just changed his identity to Curtis Yarvin.
Superb👌
haha think that drummer liked the who?
Maybe a little! 🤪
Does anyone know if this "rock" version of Private Revolution is available on CD or Download? I can't seem to find it anywhere but here.
RIP
Was the VHS too short? Is there a full concert to be found somewhere?
That's very cheeky the first tune is private revolution over the ship of fools beat
obviously lost, not Karl,
Love it! Karl seems tript out:)
Karl and John, keep rockin!
