- Pre-practiceing a lake is sometimes a bad thing. These spawning fish got me to focused on sight fishing for the tournament, but at the end of the day it was still awesome catching some big ol bass. This video is full of great fishing tips to help you catch more bass.

Scott Martin you are an amazing fisherman. I remember waking up when i younger and rushing to watch your show on tv. My dad and I watched the Scott Martin challenge every single weekend for a few years.
I live about 10 minutes from Hickory and it seems the the Hurricanes last year really helped the whole chain. Lots of big fish being caught out there lately.
Only thing that keeps me alive. This guy slays fish year round and makes it enjoyable. Downside I get to watch a snowstorm wreck us in Maine tomorrow.

You should use the spinnerworm for 1 hour total during a tournament. Not 1 hour all at one, but off and on for an hour.

where did you find a waterfall?
Man I got skunked at Gville last weekend..there was a Yet I FLW college tourney there. Over 200 boats, one third didn't have a fish to weigh. Its awesome what those guys can do. They found the fish when I couldn't man....except a big freshwater drum....we did have cold nights (mid 30s) and it was damn near summer pool because of the rain before we got there.

I fished lake Lanier yesterday.Had good luck with a 3/8 white and gray chatterbait with a 3 inch white paddle tail kaitech trailer.Also did really well with a black and blue beavertail.Goodluck out there!The weather in GA is going to be tough this week and the good spawn was a week ago.
the bfl on feb 24th was won up shallow. im assuming on spawning fish. i hope scott does well but i think hed pull a check with less than 15lb per day cause what ive heard from the other pros is that they cant find fish. idk how though, i think the're trying to fish deep and the fish havnt backed off the secondary points yet cause some are still spawning and the ones that have just have moved off bed.
Where you fish on Lanier? I live on lanier..ive been pulling in 5lb slobs middle of lake(Not literally middle of lake) around aqua land marina and around sail boat club on deep crank bait.. biting good around 11am..
Ive been hitting the secondaries and finding schools, mostly 3 and 4 lbers(less than 5 ft of water). the big ones havnt been doing well for most people yet though. probably easier to find them when you live on it though and the last time flw tour came here i think the last day only took 12 lbs to win and everyone but like 3 boats blanked, although i think the weather is a little better this time.
I can see how that would have got you excited for the tourney. I can also see how the weather conditions might have changed between practice and the tourney enough to throw you off Scott.
I need to go on a fishing trip with Scott Martin i would love that lol .... this guy is awesome

How is Lanier? is was good like 2 weeks ago but we got another cold front so now its freezing again
itll be rough the first 2 days of the tourny. water is gonna be muddy, not stained, muddy. the first 2 days will probably be won mid lake(stained water) and the second two(weather permitting) will probably have some big largemouth after the water clears up a little up the hooch. I also think it will be won up shallow. Just my thoughts on it.

if that grass was grown all the way to the top you would use a frog, and seeing that you had a hard time getting any tackle down in there cuz of the grass, If they weren't on the shore, the only answer would have been a chatter-bait

Joseph tro googans aren't in the FLW let alone professional tournament fisherman. LFG use to be a pro angler but had to stop due to circumstances.
