    Thanks so much. I was able to fix my refrigerator by myself because of your video. Total out of pocket cost $10 for the part. Appreciate your video.

    Great video. Not sure I'd call this 'really easy' but I have a suggestion : after installing the new stat, before putting back the rear cover, tablets and food, run the fridge for 30 min and make sure it's fixed. Then proceed to putting back the rest. I'm getting into this because the temperature on the freezer side on my 8 years old Frigidaire started fluctuating : it's set to -18C but it goes from -6C to -10C so I'm betting the stat is failing. While there may I suggest tossing the fridge, unplug it, removing the rear lower bottom cover, and dusting off the black cooling coils, the compressor unit (big black sphere) as well as the vent holes in the cover itself: this will have your unit work more efficient and the compressor staying cooler and lasting more years. Be sure to keep at least 4 inches between the back of the fridge and the rear wall, for proper ventilation and air circulation

    Hi I have a Frigidaire FGHS2631PF3. I replaced the evaporator motor and fan but the fan still does not run. Could it be the defrost thermostat

    Alot of the aftermarket thermostats come with Aluminum wire. Is that okay to put Aluminum with Copper? I kind of already ordered one. It was 22$.

    hope it's okay to ask a question here. I saw somewhere a way to cut down on the electric bill was to put a 15amp timer on frig and set it , half hr on, two hrs off. I did a little different, during day when heat is on mine is on one hr off for 1 1/2 hr, then an nite it's half on and two off. Did this for two weeks now and temp only goes up freezer from 0 to 9, frig goes from 36 to 45. Yesterday it went to 52 and would not go down. So I took off the timer overnight and it's now normal. Will this hurt or destroy a specific part or can I keep trying this till I get my bill and see if it went down. Just me using and hardly go into it. Thank for your help. Karen

    Hello I have trouble with my Frigidaire frs22zrh defrost circle, it's creating lots of ice on the coil, can you tell me where it's is located or if the failure to cool down is related to the thermostat, the refrigerator is about 18 years old... Everything is running ok the compressor and the fans the only problem is the failure to defrost circle.... Can you explain or send a link to me please

      Just follow the directions in the video. I researched enough to know that this is not the end all fix. It is one of many reasons your food is freezing in the refrigerator. Empty the freezer and have a couple towels ready. Unplug the refer before messing around with the inner components. Hope this fix works for you.

    Hello Steve, I hope you could help me I have an Electrolux refrigerator model # EI28bs56ISC it is the one where the freezer is at the bottom, well I replaced the computer under the advice of a friend and it worked for one day until the refrigerator temperature rose to 56 degrees again. I have a thermostat that I purchased but have no idea of its location, I would appreciate if you have any idea in what the problem could be and the location of the thermostat. Note the freezer works great at -6 degrees the refrigerator is the problem I do hear a noise once in awhile and think that it could be the fan. Thank you

      Hi Fernando. Here is a link to the thermostat for your model refrigerator, and you can use the schematic on that page to determine exactly where it is located:
      www.partselect.com/PS2378768-Frigidaire-242046001-Defrost-Thermostat.htm?SourceCode=13&SearchTerm=EI28BS56ISC&ModelNum=EI28BS56ISC
      Here is another handy resource that may allow you to diagnose the problem:
      www.partselect.com/Repair/Refrigerator/Refrigerator-Too-Warm/
      Finally, here is a list of common parts that cause this symptom on your model refrigerator. If you hear a noise from the fan, it definitely could be part of the problem. It is a common part that causes the refrigerator to run too warm:
      www.partselect.com/AdvancedModelSymptoms.aspx?ModelNum=EI28BS56ISC&mfgModelNum=&fkMfgID=4&ModelMasterID=326803&PID=10
      I hope this helps you get your refrigerator running at the correct temperature again! Thanks for the question and good luck with your repair!

    Hi. Hoping you can help me. I have a Frigidaire side by side PHS67EHSB4 that's been acting up. The freezer and fridge stopped cooling all of a sudden. I decided to leave it unplugged for 24 hours thinking this will somehow reset the motherboard to its default setting and get it to work normally again. After I plugged it back in both the freezer and fridge will work normally for about 20 hours before shutting off again. It will not come back on unless I repeat the unplug/plug process again. When it is not working, the temperature on the control panel is still registering false temperatures of 27 F on the freezer side and about 39 F on the refrigerator side. I can then get it to work for another 20 hours or so if I unplug/replug it again. When it is not cooling, the lights are still on. I wonder if it is the thermistors. If it is the thermistor do you happen to have the resistance specs for the freezer and fridge thermistors for both room temp and freezing temp? The thermistor part numbers are 241608401 and 241608501 but I cannot find the specs for these thermistors no matter how hard I tried. Once I get the specs I think I will be able to remove them to test them with my multimeter. Thank you in advance for your help and expertise

    • @partselect
      @partselect  Před 6 lety

      Hello, the tech sheets for most models are stored inside the refrigerator behind the bottom front grill. This sheet will have the specs for the thermistor. If you cannot find the sheet call the manufacture. This repair can be tricky as it can be the thermistor or the compressor as they work together. I would replace the thermistors as shown in the video. If problem persists then I would call a technician out to perform test on the compressor.
