1) AI-powered roasting:
This AI system aims to link cupping scores with roast profiles. The system allows for either fully automated roasting or manual roasting and gives feedback on what you can do to achieve your roasting goals. And until now, when you roasted coffee, you did so alone. But with AI you can crowdsource an optimum roast profile and the AI can make suggestions while you roast to match that profile.
2) A roaster that interacts with you: The roaster communicates effectively with the operator via liaudible and visual cues as well as its control interface and roasting software. Audible and visual cues allow the operator to monitor the roast at a glance whether automation is enabled or not.
3) Active heat transfer technology: Incorporating technologies from the aviation world and combining that with a redesigned roast drum, the coffee is roasted at the same temperature throughout as heat transfers evenly over the entire drum surface. The machine also recirculates waste heat back into the roasting chamber, creating a far more fuel-efficient roaster.
4) Fluid bed cooling: Fluid beds are extremely efficient at transferring energy, so by repurposing the technologies that already exist in the world of roasting, we use this not to roast the beans but to cool them down as quickly as possible. This maintenance-free system replaces the old-school round perforated cooling bin and is sealed with a glass cover to eliminate the possibility of bean contamination.
5) Hands-off roasting made easy: Easily automate your day with the redesigned Roastery Resource Planning system which tracks inventory, creates roast schedules, and generates packing lists for your customer’s orders while you focus on your business. Automation can be enabled or disabled at any point during the roast process.
