Here from Creepcast and holy hell is this story so unique and beautiful. Yes it is horrifying but it builds up with us imagining insane paranormal possibilities only for our expectations to be subverted with the real story behind the disappearances. This only shows that the most inhuman monsters out there destroying this world is our fellow humans, making this the scariest story I have heard in a LONG time

Contextual questions that I wouldn't mind seeing answers for from either a prequel or an in-betweener from season 1 and 2 (spoilers, read at your own peril because I think I went in too deep).
-What exactly did Graham do to those minors in St. Louis? How many minors were victimized and did he ultimately get caught?
-Was there a tipping point or other writing on the wall that showed maybe Whitney was more than just the "favorite kid" in Graham's eyes?
-Did Kleary intervene in Graham's investigation so that Graham could take over the operation?
-Did the McKaskie boys create the original "stables" and did Thomas Prescott kill his nephews to gain ownership of the operation?
-What was Megan Destaro privy to? Did she see the "stables" or witness something that messed her up that she could no longer keep secret so she offed herself?
-(The context of the survival supplies at the "stables" was a nice touch to keep the "stock" clean and "serviceable" but) What were the logistics when it came to the girls from said "stock"? (Again the Women in White was also a weird but I guess necessary context as to test future prospects among the local girls, but unless everyone was supposed to use bottled water for everything, it stands to reason the Drisking girls are pretty much infertile, and the only example was Mira Daily.)
-To what degree was the "bad water" a hazard to the locals? Could everyone use whatever came out of the pipes to cook, to bathe? Was infertility only an issue to girls? Did the infertility only trigger if it was ingested? What about the rain?
1. In the original Borrasca story, its revealed that in St. Louis Graham was pimping out underage children and was eventually caught. It is implied there is corruption in the Police and because of that Graham didn't get charged and was instead transferred to Drisking, a place with a very corrupt Police force that likely recruits bad cops like Graham.
2. I'm not too sure but he does keep a weird shrine to Whitney in his home after the events of part 1 of Borrasca. Either he always had incestous feelings towards her or perhaps he justifies incest with Whitney by thinking that its better that her partner was her father rather than someone she doesn't know as he tries justifying his actions towards Kimber similarly when confronted about it by Sam.
3. Which investigation? If you're talking about Krista, Graham probably already knew what was going on considering the first point. If Graham didn't he may have been introduced and inducted into Drisking's Police force illegal operations.
4. The McKaskie boys were kids so no. They managed to escape from the mines and make it to the treehouse they played in but by that time they were exhausted, starving and died to the elements. The stables were established later by Thomas Prescott and by the time the McKaskie boys were found, the stables were already operating fully.
5. Everyone in Drisking knows about what goes on in the town including the stables, Megan's letter states that everyone pretends nothing goes wrong since its the way they get children and money. Anyone that fought back and protested was tossed into the Shiny Gentlemen. Seeing Kyle and Kimber being romantically involved probably disgusted and made her feel guilty which lead to write a secret letter to Kimber to try to stop Kimber from being in an incestous relationship and potentially being sent to the stables. She might have killed herself out of guilt or to make a big scene for Kimber to investigate to find her letter but I doubt this, she could have just told her privately if this was her goal so she probably killed herself out of guilt.
6. Since the whole town is in on the operations at the stables, they all probably contribute supplies and resources to maintain them. The Drisking Police Force run the security and make sure no one escapes or breaks in. Perhaps the Women in White test is for finding girls that on the very rare chance that are fertile.
7. I don't think that its stated anywhere that anyone died or had health complications besides being infertile. Its likely drinking the contaminated water would cause infertility but its never heavily explained whether other water contact would cause it. Both the men and women should be infertile, it might be a plothole that only women are tested and that the only original Borrasca locals that are still fertile are of the Prescot and Killian family line or you could headcannon them somehow still being fertile in that they only drank bottled water or they monopolize the stable so that only they and those they reward get to perform the deed with the prisoners at the stables. Its never stated but scientifically the rain should be clean, only the water table in the ground is contaminated, if it evaporates, the water that eventually descends as rain should be clean from the contamination.

I’ve listen to the entire series and honestly this is one of the best adaptations I’ve ever heard. God I wish I could get more of the fucking winter banter between. Kimber, Kyle and Sam. It’s just so good. And the way they actually fixed V is so nice. All the actors did an amazing job. some of the changes that I really really liked were the parties, more Paker and other characters, the entirety of V like god the original just felt rushed, and I know the reason is because Rebecca was kind of forced to make it. The ladies part is kinda unneeded bc why couldn’t like the doctors in town just test the blood I don’t know. The enzyme thing it’s a little bit much but maybe it’s there just to explain why Kimber was sent but couldn’t have children. Ooo and the children and teens in the story actually act like regular children and teens. Aging the cast up a little bit makes sense because it was just weird that Sam was 15 in the original. Love the therapist and Eric. Bc they made Eric an actual character this time instead of a Deus Ex Machina. The mile markers were a cool thing to see tho kinda makes that shiny gentleman useless. And I find it cool that was mentioned that Sam and Kyle were always supposed to know of what was going to happen, but weren’t supposed to find borrasca. Just few things off of my head but if the original was a 10/10 this is a solid 9.5/10 this ending is so sweet tho 😭

Netflix would just completely butcher Borrasca if they went anywhere near it, given their recent track record of crappy content. It would be better for a different platform like Hulu to take on a Borrasca project.

I love the story borrasca and the acting is incredible but there are quite a few inconsistencies with the story and this narrative, like the borrasca parties, Emmaline’s relationship with Sam not existing in the orgininal ,Whitney’s car, and Kyle’s character in this narration is played up from the original , he was painted as an over reactive less supporting person in this narration, but he wasn’t as deductive in the original story and Sam is painted as way more selfish , for example during the suicide letter heist , everyone was in on the plan and in fact it was Kyle the one who kept bringing it up due to his guilt that it might be his fault Ann killed herself, and he also had the idea to get the letter after they talked about it , due to his own agenda of seeing whether or not he was responsible, and in this version Sam is made out to be as someone only in it for selfish reasons, he was concerned for Kimber in the real story after he heard about the suicide he was nothing but supportive to Kimber and he didn’t bring up borrasca again until after the heist went wrong, Sam and Kyle were way more supportive and understanding of each other and didn’t fly off the handle as much in the original, also the fact that Sam hasn’t addressed to Kimber about her and Kyle being related is a little off, feels like QCode still wants them together, 😅 oof. All this to say I have a laundry list of issues with the discrepancies but still , I am loving the story and can’t wait till it’s finished , Overall I still love the effort, the great voices and raw well performed and fantastic emotion, I’d rate this a resounding B for Borrasca 🎉 :D but honestly, I still love this idea and am ecstatic this was made in this narrative form keep it up everyone :)
No I agree with the author I think this is the definitive version of the story. Everything was expanded upon and characters were given more depth. Emmeline being an actual character is way better than just being mentioned a few times in the original. Whitney's car also helps in giving more reason to not trust Sam's father. Plus little things they added such as Kyle's ribs being broken and Sam's rotator cuff add to why they couldn't fight back efficiently against Parker when they were younger.

It may be a memoir or something like that would be my guess. If not then yeah Kyle.
A part of recovery practices is making amends to the people who were hurt by you in your addiction,phone calls, home visits and in cases where you can't contact the person, letters. Now that said he could have lumped in Kyle and Whitney or the other girls he feels guilty for not saving that day as a way to confront the core of his trauma and addiction.
Finished the episode. Not the letters I'm thinking about but definitely could be Kyle or Whitney gotta go back and re watch season one and see if they got to the plot twist or if this is yet to come because the person who is being addressed is dead.

After listening to the new season, I prefer the original. While the new season has some good elements, it has a a lot of glaring flaws.
First off; I like that they expanded Seth’s (or Eric as he’s called in this version) character and had him play a role throughout the story instead of just at the end. I also like the addition of the mile markers, and the deeper roles they play, as well as seeing what happened to old characters like Phil and Parker. And on a technical level, the sound design is great, and the transitions between them are seamless and beautiful.
That said;
I think MrCreepyPasta’s telling of the story had more emotion to it; it didn’t feel like he was just reading a script/story. Here, while displaying certain feelings and depth at times, the actors sounded more like they were reciting words verbatim and not actually utilizing the emotional weight behind them.
The pacing kind of jumps around, and while it tries changing some things, they don’t quite make sense and kind of damaged the story (as seen in the examples below). And just like last season, the medium of the podcast kind of restricts the way some scenes play out, with characters having to spell out what’s happening which disrupts the flow of the narrative.
*Spoilers below*
Sam finding out about his mom’s death before he revisits his old house takes away a bit of the shock when he sees Emmaline. I personally didn’t care that much about their relationship, it wasn’t one of the stronger aspects, so the reveal that Graham married her, while all kinds of fucked up, didn’t feel like the gut punch it was trying to be, not to mention the characters treated it like some kind of awkward high school reunion, when it was anything but.
Sam deciding to get clean after he talks with Prescott, and the fact that he seemed more determined to slay his dragons when doing it didn’t feel right. Sam at the beginning felt like someone stuck in his trauma, powerless to fight it, and ended up embracing it via the black tar heroin. I doubt he’d be strong enough to give it up all on his own like that, needing someone like Kimber to give him the extra push, and only after everything fell apart (thanks to him) and all seemed hopeless would he feel the need to start changing for the better.
The epilogue ending with the characters celebrating Sam’s birthday in a bar in Seattle was corny and unnecessary, and kind of conflicted with the tone of the story. The original ending was more bittersweet, ending on a positive note, while not completely glossing over the trials and tribulations that arise in the aftermath of such a tragedy, as well as the fact that finally exposing and shutting down the human trafficking business for good didn’t solve everything, much like IRL. While it’s nice to see the characters together and leading normal lives after all they’ve been through, it kind of does a disservice to survivors who can’t move on so easily and have to live with deeper scars (physical and/or mental). It’s like ending a story about World War II with “and they all lived happily ever after.” It’s not so much about where the characters are physically as it is where they are mentally, and spiritually.
