"Draw like you don't care" that's a great tip :-)
This is the first time that I ever heard your great tip of having all the heads at eye level. I can see how that makes a huge difference in keeping the perspective accurate. Thank you! (And thanks for saying it more than once, so it would sink in for me. 😉)
The best teachers say things three times in a lesson, and as a person whose focus ebbs and flows, I really appreciate it. It's funny because I actually learned this from him in one of his videos long ago, and didn't realise a lot of my art knowledge that I actually utilise, comes from Teoh!
Re: "Oops!" I love it! It is very encouraging to me. When someone as experienced as you can have a few "oops", I am less worried about my mistakes. Thanks so much for all you do.
Making art is about enjoying the process. It's not like taking an exam. lol
And mistakes are important for learning. No one starts out as a total pro :3
He’s already INKING without sketching it first? This is skill
Love the loose style, haven't dared try that yet, I WILL. Thanks Teoh👍🖌🖌
This is an awesome video.....Teoh, you use paper you don't really like, and paint you haven't used in a while..and this painting turned out fabulous..in my opinion. You are so so carefree and relaxed and your mistakes don't bother you one bit..I want to learn to paint with such a relaxed demeanor..I just love your content..again, a big THANK YOU
Your random sketches are beautiful, Teoh. I learned some tips just by observing you draw, so thank you! 😊
I purchased this set as well as the ArtGraf travel tin with stick and brush and the Derwent Graphitint pencils for Xmas, thinking that these are the perfect take-along for trips. Then Covid19 happened. Disappointed that I can't go out with them, but you've inspired me to plein-aire in place!! Thanks for the video, I'm going to pull those out and use pics!! Great demo!!
Well, the graphite pencils I purchased were the Derwent Graphitints. I love them, I created a palette of the colors on 300# paper by drawing swatches. Then whenever I need a touch of a neutral color, I just activate the swatch. Reserve my pencils, that way there's always a sharp pencil ready.
But I highly recommend buying both the ArtGraf colors in the set reviewed here and the Derwent pencils, because the Graphitint set doesn't have a good yellow.
I like this one !! 👍🏻, thank you Parka, you give me an idea with this watercolor 😉
I discovered ArtGraf thanks to you - Bought sepia (I think) at the time you reviewed the earth tones set, then forgot about it. Have been playing with it again and I love it, and I added a white block that's incredibly useful. Thanks a lot ! (I can turn my inexpensive watercolors into gouache with those blocks and that's a lof of fun)
wow teoh ,it looks great !!1
Beautiful sketch! These watercolor blocks are gorgeous
i am amazed how you don`t even use pencil to sketch before, you strait away go with pen and it looks amazing!
Very nice ❤
i love your videos, thank you for creating content
Just beautiful.
Teo I would love to see you do a video on drawing people the way you do. It looks so easy and quick!
This is nice, refreshing to watch, also nice style.
Amazing!
Yes it is!
Very nice demo, Teoh!
"Draw like you don't care" would make a great.mantra to accompany my drawing aessions. Thanks, this was a great exercise. Are these Artgraf paints also graphite based watercolours? They seem like a lot of fun to try for this colour palette.
Not sure if they are graphite. They don't have the graphite sheen.
@@teohyc Thanks. I went to their website looking for more info. They describe it as a block of pressed pigment...but they don't say if there is any graphite there. It is steznage because they list these in their page of graphite products. Anyhoo, have a look for yourself www.viarco.pt/en/artgraf-products/ Thanks again for sharing this (new to me) product.
this is where i started to learn urban sketching and painting 😭😍
Vantage point I learned watching your videos I've got a lot of information watching your tutorials
I thought the vertical grain texture was okay on the building, and makes the wall looks like well, a real wall. It looks great anyway! I hope that one day i will be able to 'let go' and still produce something nice :)
Love the sketch, thanks for reviewing, these look interesting.
this is so beautiful i wish i also have talents like yours
This seems so relaxing to do, but as soon as I start, I start to care too much and my drawing (if I even finish it) would end up looking stiff
I have been thinking of buying this...I have the graphite pan from the same company, and really enjoy using it.
Can’t wait to draw like this on my new iPad Pro! 🤩
Hi Teoh ! I would be interested if you you show a sample on toned paper. I imagine they could be great like that even adding some touches of white there and there to floodlight the sketch and increase some contrast effects between some colors of art graph. I want to give a try myself but they are pricey. They seems to be not too straining because you could sponge your error without any stain, that's a good point. But are they lightfast enough in case to frame out the sketch ?
Loved the browns
Yo Teoh this is beautiful I love the color harmony.
Wow! I wish I could paint like that.
The colors are beautiful tho
Very interesting and 👏
Love this sketch and how you use this product.
Hi, I would love it if you could make a video on how to sketch directly using pen. Like your journey to how you reach where you at rn. I’ve always wanted to draw something directly with pen as it’s less time consuming and something cool to do
Good idea for a video
Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
Hey dude. Awesome artwork XD! I actually have a question. Is there any digital drawing software that is good for getting a watercolor-like look? I’ve looked around and some of the ones that do look a bit unnatural.
Wish I could draw like this
can blocks be taken out and other block be put in if need blue sky
Nice review thank you, even though I don't used the iPad ;-)
what fountain pen
Pelikan M200 www.parkablogs.com/picture/review-pelikan-m200-fountain-pen
I have a box of water-soluble colored pencils, but I find them tedious to use, difficult to predict how it will turn out, and the result inferior to watercolor paints + brush. I haven't used them in months.... 😫
Paula Bean watercolor pencils are good for touching up and adding some details and then blending them with water or a water soluble blender marker like to tombow brand. (Not the alcohol based blenders). I hated my watercolor pencils at first too.
you might do some tests before using them, so they could become predictable!
Can you give some information about the watercolor set in this video
Is this ArtGraf color block available from Straits too?
No but available from Overjoyed
I wonder, why would I want these 'graf' blocks when I have perfectly fine watercolor? I mean in what way does this medium differ from WC?
Great painting btw, really like your work.
Actually there's no difference. Just different brand
@@teohyc No different from watercolor huh? Well combined with the price, the very limited color range and the fact that the producer doesn't give the pigment numbers used, I will give this product a pass.
You can hold the blocks like crayons or pencils. It’s graphite so you can draw with it, leave it dry or go in later with wet brush.
@@suzbart2084 i cannot imagine that it's possible to have graphite in those colors.
Great as allways! What is the brand & size of the brush?
Silver Black Velvet size 8
The pen latency is pretty good ngl
👍👍
What's the ink?
