Thanks for making these basic videos. As others have pointed out, they are not for the pros but this bite-sized approach is useful for a beginner like me. Affinity (am on Mac version) is no doubt powerful but I struggle with it sometimes because operations and buttons are not obvious to me, for example, in your video, “create pixel layer” is a task fulfilled by that button below the layers panel. Many tutorials rush through these bits and bobs and it is precisely these things that trip me up.

There are no square bracket keys on my keyboard.
On windows, you can also change the brush size by pressing Ctrl Alt click and moving the mouse (to the right to increase, left to decrease)
