he was your friend as the violin fencer but when escaping the brass castle you have to decide between him and bongo brigadier if you choose bongo the fencer is crushed under rubble and assumed dead but at the end of the game you find the violin fencer has become corrupted and is now working with the brass kingdom as revenge for being left behind after the battle its revealed he was being mind controlled and in his last moments he finds clarity again

Determined to spare the String Kingdom and all those within it from the Tuba King's corruption, he attempted to assemble a group of his fellow High Holy String members and mount a defensive force to defend the kingdom. However; his comrades scoffed and stated that he need not worry as the corruption would be contained to the brass kingdom. Unconvinced the Violin Fencer set off to fight against the corruption for the sake of the kingdom. Alas, the corruption spares none that it touches, and the once valiant Violin Fencer succumbed to the corruption and became one with the force he had vowed to halt. The Violin Fencer stood upon his greatest work of art, his sharp bow and violin discord clenched with tight, and yet delicate fingers. His boots, white as the mask he dawned, trampled over each body, uncaring for the blood that stained them. The royal regalia he wore, a true symbol of the string kingdom, was bloodied and torn, a silent but eerie vapor flowing off of it. The violinist twiddled his fingers around the bow as he walked off the piles upon piles of dead warriors, trampling each piece of “pure” and “harmonic” violin and bow he found.
His eyes turned to his own violin and bow; the corruption had already dug itself into their core. His violin had already colored itself ash and blood, and the bow he had been bestowed upon from his promotion to Lieutenant bared no longer his kingdom’s proud maroon and chocolate class color, but now degraded to a blunt brass and shrieking silver. He looked to the sky, watching as fires fumed smoke into the air and listened to the crackle of each flare. Any screams that should’ve been heard were already silenced by his own music, his own tune.
He leapt from his spot on top of a beheaded soldier and clinged onto a building, once beautifully crafted in stone now rubbled to nothing but debris and cobble. Latching onto whatever was left, he bounced off of its platform, launching him high into the air and destroying whatever as left of the kingdom he protected. Without hesitation, he latched onto another pile of rubble higher up, and leapt off of it too.
If he remembered correctly that was the library of sheets and scrolls. Another building he toppled over; that was the hospital of rosin and tuning. Another; it wasn’t even a building, it was a park playground’s slide for children. His contionous leaps finally stopped as he stood on top of tallest tower in the kingdom, watching the fires scatter and smoke rise. If he were to use a metaphor for his ascent, he’d call the fire around him judgement, and the tower enlightenment.
What was an orchestra if not a bloated band of idiots following the same tune? An orchestra, a kingdom, those were not known for who the players truly were, they were known for who they were an orchestra, not a musician. He lowered his head, surveying the bodies below him, the bodies of warriors that attempted to fight him off.
They all wore the exact same regalia, the exact same bow, the exact same violin, and the exact same tune.
    Everything. Exactly. The. Same.
They were not known as musicians, they were known as an orchestra. They were nothing but symmetrical duplicates of each other, and that was what the Violinist Fencer despised most.
He grasped the bloodied white cravat around his neck. According to the culture of the string, those that had reached a military rank as high as his were to be gifted one by their parents. Of course, what that culture neglects to mention was that every cravat was the exact same; it was like receiving a medal for graduating high school.
He tore it off, and wrapped it around his arm. Symmetry would not do in his world.
Was his world a harmonious one of order and peace? Yes, and that was the problem. It was boring, it was monotonous, it...wasn’t living. It wasn’t being. It simply wasn’t.
No matter how well he played, no matter the wars he fought, they would speak of the String Kingdom, the String Orchestra, the String-kind.
He was strong, but all he was ever known as was string.
And so, he grasped it in a dream. A dream where songs ruptured ears and music cracked mirrors. Harmony was replaced by chaos and Discord was all he oculd hear.
    Discord?
    *d15ç0®∂*
Whether it was a dark power or his own choice, he grasped the power offered in his dream, a power that only defined itself as “†µßå”.
Only then had he finally understood his troubles. Why his mind never truly grasped the concept of harmony and peace, why his accomplishments never truly shined. Harmony was no song of life. Harmony is predictable. Harmony is reliable. Harmony can be repaired and continued.
But when Harmony is broken, all that is remembered is Discord.
Discord will always be remembered, discord will always be first to be noticed, Discord cannot be broken for it has already shattered. Discord always continues for it never ends. Discord was the song of life, the song of pride, the song that screamed “I am me. All of you are not.”
If life was in fact, one giant song of discord...The violinist saw no reason to show the world exactly what that meant.
    -END-?
Hey y’all, just wanted you to know that Bread is a loaf of beer.

Magic is actually B everytime it uses its Corrupted Violin at 40% HP Dark Homing Music Notes/Orbs fly towards the player dealing insane damage all together with Corrupted Might if all the Orbs hit its death if the player is able to dodge the Orbs then its passive procs increasing its speed which stacks with each miss or hit and the Orbs stay on the ground as Dark Flames which can potentially cage the player forcing them to fight in close distance another trick that it performs is it has a ability which the Corrupted Orbs can be absorbed back as it calls back the Corruption which it then heals itself within the fight although magic isn't its primary focus early to mid fight it is only when it is Near death it plays the Violin more and more

he lets those gathered stacks burst into a attack, where he dashes to you and fends with his violin bow at you and deals both dark and physical damage

The limited use skills can only be refreshed at a resting point, but they can do some serious status effects like sleep, freeze, toxic, silence, and more. The best part is the fact that unlike other party members who can apply status effects, not only is it a 100% hit chance, it's can also be applied to enemies with resistance to it and deals true damage!

He has golden ornaments on his mask which fit perfectly with his clothes and the room. He stands up right, with both of his hands behind his back. He draws the rapier out of its sheath. The hilt is golden as well but it has a small hook at the end which has a few strings over it, reaching back to the hilt of his rapier. Black smoke engulfs his arm and as it disappears, an ashen violin fills his hand. He puts it up to his face and starts playing. A few short notes which he repeats until suddenly a second instrument joins in. You look around the room but it is empty. Then suddenly a new string instrument echoes through the room. Then another. Finally, the Violinists arm gets engulfed in black smoke and the violin disappears into the smoke but the music keeps playing as he puts his rapier up into a fighting position. He is now suddenly in front of you about to strike! Roll for initiative."

“He was a one of the few remaining veterans of the 6th drum war. You must understand, string-percussion hatred for one another stems from all the way back to the 1st instrument war. It was bloody and catastrophic for both sides, but especially for us since we couldn’t push out as much numbers as they did, nor in such constant waves. He was so young at that time, much too young in our culture to be normally sent off to war, but we were growing desperate.
By the gods, was he a master. You knew he was there the moment that a formerly crumbling line was suddenly routing the enemy in droves. As the war passed, the conductors began to use him more and more in a more solitary fashion, striking within the night, and leaving carnage at dawn. That probably should’ve been sending us red flags, for who knows what he’s seen and forced to do to come out of there alive. We didn’t care at that point, however, as we became addicted to achieving victory at any cost. The worst part was what they did to him after the war was won and over. You know what they did to him? Booted him out of the military into the provincial militia, with no thanks, gratitude, honor, or even an empty vapid medal for all his sacrifices. The reason? Because he became a ‘liability’ and an ‘unwanted loose cannon’. Yes, they said it directly to his face. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that they are were one of the first to die under his wrath. I don’t know what god he prayed to or made a bargain with, but that’s probably just for the better. Some things are better left unknown.”

However after the Brass Kingdom won the war, he was taken hostage before the High Tuba Priest where he was... cursed. Now nothing but evil, the once proud general of the String Kingdom lurks around Ukulele Isles, doomed to destroy his very kind against his will. The only part of his personality remaining is his sophisticated flowery manner of speech. However now, it would be more properly described as cunning. He's not actually required for the main quest as he has crazy high stats for the String Kingdom, but he surprisingly does affect the plot at times, creating obstacles in your path or occasionally making you fight groups of enemies if you haven't defeated him yet. Extremely fast on his feet, he also has a lot of dialogue in the game for an unrequired boss. And he always has a plan for everything. He may be a corrupted puppet, but he's a battle-worthy corrupted puppet indeed.

I just read through alot of comments and I'm noticing a theme. With all of the instrumental bosses, I'd like the idea where this is a video game. And the main character is called maestro. And he/she would be able to conduct all music instrumental forms as a a way of battle.

This Violin Fencer originally was one of the Royal Guards that was tasked to set prosperity and safety inside Kingdom of Strings. Until, the forces of the corrupted Tuba Kingdom comes to conquer the remaining sides of many Kingdoms in Orchestral Continent - this poor fellow dragged to the dark, cursed abyss of evil malignant power that resides within King Tuba II's disposal of Evil Forces or 'Energy' that supposedly rest in another side of the Orchestral Continent that has been sealed for countless millenia.
And so, the power he gains from the negative influence that the Brass Kingdom has set upon Kingdom of Strings made him quite hard to fight with. Don't be fooled by his easy-looking appearance, as he before was chosen as one of the Noble Violinist and the best of the bests in Royal Guard's Armies.
May sheer lucks rest beside you, maestro.

There’s a very dark but surprised feel when fencer gets corrupted, before this he was a friendly npc who even joined your party for certain parts of the game while very lightly and increasingly hinting at them becoming corrupted (to bad the second fight only happens on very long the route to the true/ completionist ending).

You are inside a marble palace with gold trim, after a long tour (guided by the music of violins) you will find a large door adorned with a gold violin on each door.
With every step you take the music starts to stop ... When you open the doors you enter a theater and on the stage is the violin fencer watching you, greets you and invites you to come.
Upon reaching the stage the fencer bows and begins to play, at the same time creating copies of the one they also play, forming a violin concert
The violin fencer is very fast and while playing his violin he can dodge anything, but in each pause he will attack with his sword, the pauses are very short but while attacking he will not evade

Long ago, a fencer belonging to nobility and whose hobby was the violin, was touched by darkness and corrupted by it. As he fell deeper into the clutches of the evil brass cult, which worshipped the self proclaimed heinous tuba king, his fascination with his instrumend grew, and he elegantly began terrorizing small villages by playing a haunting melody, which instilled fear so strong, it paralyzed all who could hear it, only to kill them mercilessly with his sword. This omen however, is a call for help, from the depths of his heart, that wished to be purged in order to halt this genocide, to be slain by a hero that is strong enough to overcome the paralysis, fight back and rid the world of him and the darkness which took over him.

Long you stood there, gazing into the hollow eyes of the former Violin Fencer, best swordsman of the string kingdom as he stood in a field of casted down weapons and instruments, still playing that damn tune on his violin. It felt like hours before the silence was broken with a high pitched, howling laughter that sent shivers threw your spine as you tried so desperately to maintain your composure. "Where's that bravado, young Maestro? I trained you better than that when you were younger, you know. The Tuba King will crush you in an instant if you face him like this." This wasn't him, years of fighting against the brass kingdom had left his mind shot, his allies gone, and his figure burnt from countless battles. He had become corrupted from the well spoken trainer and father figure you knew him as, you couldn't raise your sword. You had to find a way to talk him down, you opened your mouth, hoping to lie well enough to convince the two of you there was no need for bloodshed. "Fencer, please! The Tuba King has done terrible things to you, but you've lost your way! Sheath your weapon and let us fight together once again as brothers in arms." He giggles and speaks again, his voice low but full of quiet malice. "A flattering poet as well as swordsman, your father would be proud, but I've heard that one before. I've lost friends and family using that same hopeless naivete before, you wish to move forward and slay the maddened Tuba king? Kill me, your former trainer, and you will finally prove yourself as worthy in our greatest performance yet!"

The String kingdom prides itself over their mastery of the arts. Music, painting, poetry, combat, magic, you name it
The corrupted violin fencer has forgotten the beauty of his kingdom and what he was fighting for when he confronted king tuba ll.
The fencer deals constant residual damage using the spell Harsh strums. His basic attack is nothing to write home about but beware of the Entangled status effect it has a chance of inflicting, as it will render afflicted party members useless. He can also use En guarde to counter melee attacks. Throughout the fight he will charge his special attack Corrupted finale which will deal massive ranged damage that pierces armour and shields.
On the bright side his health pool and defence aren’t super high until you reach the final encounter with him. Good luck.
