Products used:
- Water-slide Decal paper in transparent and white.
- inkjet printer (Canon TR4520)
- Microsoft Word
- the secret spray/sealant - Krylon Kamar Varnish

I started my business and its easier & cheaper to buy the water decals in bulk then to make them. This would be awesome for a personal sticker.

@pearl audelo Did you run into licensing issues? I was so excited to start making my own decals but thought about licensing issues and realized a lot of images are protected by copyright and it’s SUPER expensive to buy the rights. :(
Pricilla Montgomery for designs i recommend buying procreate it’s $10 in the app store and you can draw or trace the images

Cut lil slits all around the edges that way the transfer is more flexible.

Girl! Lmao 🤣 I think I’ve watched this video 5x now and it took me that long to realize I was using the wrong printer settings. I have an HPenvy circa 2012 and kept getting horrible results. So devastating! Especially after printing 5 different image sheets. So now I know to change the settings.

How do you avoid wrinkles? "Y" looked wrinkly on STEADY. But at the end it looks great. When I bought paper and printed - it ended up being really thick and impossible to even out. And when there are image wrinkles, they are visible on very curved nail, like narrow stiletto.

I have a question. I tried the transparent paper and followed your steps, but when it printed out the ink seem to leak. Did it leak or not dry properly for you?
How do you know which images to choose that won’t get you in trouble with licensing issues? Would really like to make my own decals that I can use on sets I want to sell, but I’m terrified of getting sued. 😱

Hiii thank you so much for this detailed video and description! Just a quick question, I'm wondering do you cut around the edge afterwards or do you have to peel it off ???
File around the edges
So how do u place it on your nails properly if theyre already on your fingers(no pressons)?
Cut the decal to shape your nail first then apply it the same way. I fine they are easier to put on real nails!

Look for an acrylic craft spray varnish.

Yes you need to seal it. Acrylic or top coat will work.

I came across your channel and omg thank you soooo much for the info super useful and easy to follow. I have a question when I do print out the sticker and I put the sticker in the water and take it out the sticker slides off perfect but It comes out clear like almost transparent and I doing something wrong in the printing stage
So there’s two types of decal paper, transparent and white. In this video I used white paper which I personally prefer, my customers however only ever order their decals on transparent.
I think I’m going to do a video showing both so you can see the difference!

is the krylon acrylic coating the same as the krylon varnish? I have the acrylic coating but my decals keep tearing so easily when trying to apply to my nails
I think they are different products. The Krylon Varnish doesn't say it's acrylic at all.

My decals are coming out really stiff and difficult to apply…do you have any suggestions? I’ve tried both clear and white waterslide paper.
How do you get them tostick to acrylic. My nail tech did it then put gel on top. Lifted and ugly the next day n worse after
