Love the Kukri. It's a great knife. Although more hatchet than knife. A lot of them don't have hand guards since it's primarily a chopping weapon and never used for thrusts.
You are exactly right its a chopping tool all day klong. I think I read originally the design was for farming & animal beheading. Its a formidable blade for sure. Thanks Jay!

Just a suggestion (not like you asked for one tho lol) if you ever think to replace the piggyback knife I think any of the cold steel spike blade styles would look awesome even a Pendleton mini. I was thinking a kobun also but might be too big to be considered a “piggyback” but this knife/sheath is so big it would probably do just fine on there. I really wanted one of these when they came out but I couldn’t afford it. I got a condor village parang instead and it has seen lots of use. Mainly processing wood for my smoker.
