This channel is the only fitness channel that integrates pure teaching with casual vlogging in an entertaining way. Your channel’s sub count makes almost no sense (should be in the 500k-1M for the value being added and also trying to inform CZcams via positive commenting that your channel needs to be shown to more people)
Love you bro! We will get there some day, just slow af from over saturation but I know real will always shine through!
This channel is seriously underrated. Keep up the great work!
Thank you man, I’m really happy to hear that same sentiment consistently from you guys. These days it’s saturation that makes it difficult but Prime fam is strong nonetheless and I know we will keep growing slowly!
The gift that keeps on giving! Hope you and the fam had a great Christmas bro!! PLEASE keep the squat videos coming, the #LANKYBOIS need all the help we can get lol. Much love bro
We did bro, hope you as well!! I got more squat vids on the way my fam! Lanky boiz all day!!
@@BrendanTietz God bless you brother! Holidays have been going great!!! Ready for the Big B hype and rants all 2021
@@BrendanTietz I forgot to ask big bro. Of the heeled shoes you have worn, which have been your favorite?
So beyond lucky to have found your channel. I've really taken a deep dive into all of your content over the last few weeks and have employed several of your cues into my own lifts. It's been really fun to apply what I've learned and to have that really satisfying feeling of these same cues just clicking in a set where I applied what I learned from you and had that be reflected directly by the weight moving even smoother than before. Such an incredible feeling. Thanks for caring enough to break things down and then showing as much content as possible to describe what you're doing. Other channels just recycle what has already been done and then they throw a few cool edits over it and rebrand it as something revolution in the title of the video. You actually bring new stuff to the table in a way that you're sticking fundamentally to what is required for each of the big three, but you explain these things in such an informative way that makes it so that anyone who is willing to put in the work to learn the technique of these lifts can see immense growth. Thanks again, man. I can't begin to describe how much I appreciate it.
Lifetime PR's video, loved it!
These are some of the exact cues which have been helping me lately because I think we have very similar issues when we squat. Great video!
Thank you so much! Glad you agree with it and find them useful as well!
Nice to see the squatting videos.
Got more squatting vids coming!
Another great video bro. That statue cue is hilarious but perfect. I can see that working awesome for myself
LOL I really just came up with it trying to explain what I do to a client. Sometimes we focus on moving fast rather than through tension. Hope it helps man!
Three point weight distribution and pressure (Feel the pressure transfer from your body to the ground)
Hug your ribs, your hips, use your obliques, tight your posture, brace, and on the way up, and...
KEEP IT BRACED. Your legs push you up, the rest of your body is a statue. hard as a rock
I love dis freaking channel.
And I love you!! I just gotta remember to do the damn subtitles lol
@@BrendanTietz 🤣🤣🤣🤣
SBD day today. These cues will definitely help me out. Thanks!
Let me know how it went bro!
@@BrendanTietz it went very well. I need to be better at bracing but the squats had more directed force and control
My squat needs thé same kind of ques as you very helpfull for mee
I’m new to this channel, you earned a sub... quality content my man
Thank you man! Really happy to hear you appreciate the content! We got a ton of great stuff coming!!
Thanks!
I have the same heel dominate foot position on squat. Gonna try these cues
Let me know how it goes!
Great video and great informative content! Thanks for sharing!
When people ask for information I send them directly to this channel.
That’s exactly what I want my man! Love to hear it bro ❤️💪🏼
Nice video! We're the same when it comes to that lumbar extension so I'll really try those squat cues, thank you!
You’re welcome Sebastian!
thought he made that 5x540 look easy, then he turned around with the nosebleed
I STILL CANT COP MY PRIME FAM SHIRT IM ANGY
HAHAHA dude we all are, I was actually literally just working on the new gear! We’re releasing some COOL shit real soon!
@@BrendanTietz I want one too 😐
Great work man.. Keep going🔥
Thank you bro! You too fam!
This is gold bro. Just found your channel today and after I saw the quality subscribed. Can you do a muscle school for arms? Mine have always lagged and I would love some new tips. Keep it up!
Thank you bro!! Dude I’m planning a whole series for how to best train every single muscle group! It’ll be dropping in February! I know it’s a bit away but it requires a ton of work! I got you soon
Make a video breaking down a squat so ppl can try to figure out what to cue for their specific squat
This was amazing, thak you sir
Upper and lower oblique? There are two layers to your obliques, generally thought of us two separate but complimentary muscles, internal and external. They run neither horizontal or vertical, more diagonal, and are orthogonal to each other. I'd also add that you didn't mention your transverses abdominus, which is essentially your bodies natural lifting belt. These fibers run horizontally. Additional cue for TA is to imagine cinching your belt/TA around your core as you exhale. Look at some anatomy pics from Grey's or Netter's. I think it will help you maximize the utility of your first cue.
5:54 Seems like exhaling before the squat can actually help with the bracing and keeping the core tight. Who knew?
I used hyper extend on my squats exactly like you mention but did 90/90 on my warm ups helped me alot also about exhaling before does help then after inhale through my nose the mouth , also too I tried out lowbar which wasnt my good squat soo went back to high bar it's very suitable and comfortable for me
1:00 5:10 6:40
can you put time stamps to separate your vlog and the educational content. can you also put time stamps when you go TIETZ after performing a rep.
the casual nosebleed
Good info thank you!
You’re welcome tyler!
Perfect video thanks
You’re welcome!
next video is 3 cues for bench
The aligning the rib cage with the hips still confuses me. I feel like I am hunching and my back is rounding a bit when I do that especially when the bar is on my back
Try forcefully exhaling all the air in your lungs, you’ll feel your ribs getting pulled down. Keep the ribs down while you inhale, then squat.
I know what you mean, I had the same issue with feeling hunched. Originally I misunderstood this cue. You actually want to try and stand tall and erect but exhale and squeeze the abs on. It’s like doing two opposing functions at once. Then you find symmetry. So don’t hunch but rather exhale and squeeze WHILE standing tall
@@BrendanTietz thanks to both of you! I'll try and practice these cues see if can finally get it right
@iLykeurface Awesome, glad I could help :)

That’s real prime fam ❤️💪🏼 love you for it
Thanks for doing this now it’s in my recommended
So your second cue was to exhale to help engage upper abs. When do you inhale to fill out your brace?
Directly after! I do this both on the unrack and then again before each rep including the first rep. The goal with bracing is muscular tension and then using air and pressure to reinforce the position you create. So the abs create tension and then I brace air to pressure that position. Hope that makes sense
Have you ever seen @pugthegoat squat? It seems like he really emphasizes pushing his feet sideways and outward to the point where his whole foot isn’t even touching ground anymore. Just wondered what your thoughts on that was.
I have seen his squat but admittedly I’ve never looked much at his feet. I like his control and tension a lot but I’ll have to view his feet sometime. What I can say though if his feet aren’t evenly pressured imo that’s a big mistake.
What kind of pants are those? I love squatting with pants but they always rip lol
You have probably talked about this before but what is up with your nose bleed?
Good stuff.
Thank you!!
I hate to be that guy, but 240kg is 529lbs, but still much higher than I could do for 5 haha. Great work and I love the cues!
Lol fair! So It’s a squat bar, it’s 245kg, just an incorrect kilo conversion by my editor. She probably thought this was a power bar and I only provided her the lbs on the clips.
wait its bad that i manually push my hips up when i come out of the hole???
manually means by hand so yeah using your hands to push up your hips is bad.
If you’re referring to the hip drive cue by Mark rippetoe, I personally feel it’s a bad cue. Squatting should only resort to the hips when the quads are maximally taxed. Cueing it sooner instead of it just forcing you into that position created early tipping. Uprightness is key for maximal loads
14:47 when you can't move the bar, so you move your ribs to the bar
Who is this guy? Subscribed!
won't it be better to take a breath every three repetitions on bench ?
I prefer catching a new breath each rep however on deadlifts funny enough I used to hold my breath through as many as 5 reps LOL but I’ve recently changed that too and started re bracing at the top
@@BrendanTietz
With Deadlifts weight
lands and stops on the ground each rep
on bench you hold the weight for all the reps
Finger hand analogy is apt, but your explanation is flawed because it’s the structural integrity of your finger that’s the limiting factor, not surface area
Blood nose @ 4.52?
Yes but honestly happens every harsh warm or cold season lol my nose is just dry af, I wish I was that bad ass 😂
@@BrendanTietz Lol I thought it must have been the anadrol or halotestin 😂
No mention of the nose bleed? Or did I miss that?
Hahaha I get them semi often so I didn’t mention it, if you wanna see a crazy one though, the vid where I pull 716 on a stiff bar was a crazy nose bleed 😂
Does your nose bleed often when you lift heavy?
Mostly in the harsh seasons when it’s really dried out lol it’s not as badass as it seems. Also I’m pretty fat rn 😂
4:53 is his nose bleeding??
Yeah it bled that set
is Dbol a cue?
Yes
lol are those all really lifetime PRs, they all looked easy for him
How tall are you
6’0”
600 lbs? Jesus H. I'm still trying to Squat 315 lbs without lower back pain!
You have a belt??
@@TheMotocross4life I have a Rogue belt but it's not as thick as powerlifting belt. I have used a PL belt but still get low back muscular pain.
You natty?

Very old, missing the micro chips inside the plates on a lot of them lol
