- We followed Leanne Mohamad, who is running against Wes Streeting for Ilford North, during her campaign.
Leanne is a 23-year-old British-Palestinian whose grandparents were displaced from Palestine after the Nakba.
Aged 15, she faced trolling and serious accusations following her prize-winning Jack Petchey speech on Palestine, which she delivered in 2016. Her Jack Petchey speech became a catalyst for her entry into activism.
Supported by members of the community from different faiths, Leanne stands strong in challenging Shadow Health Secretary Streeting, in his own constituency.
