Humanity fled from a devastated exactly Earth 501 years ago, and from the terror of the Void Lords...despite our advanced technology throughout the known galaxy, our militaries were but minor inconveniences to this invasion. Millions died on Earth at the last defence, trying to escape through a technological marvel, the Great Gate: an interstellar portal built in the now-dried up Mediterranean. Only a few thousand made it through to this place now called 'The Land'. A place of mystery and magic once inhabited by a great civilisation, now gone, leaving only their ruins as clues to their fate...
