Can definitely see why Nanahoshi is so fixated on getting home. Unlike Rudeus, who got sent from a (partially self-created) hell to a land where he has power, purpose, and respect, Nanahoshi got sent from a peaceful life in a modern nation to essentially a third-world country with medieval ethical values, but with bonus monsters and not even the basic means of self-defense available to natives.
I mean… If I was in Rudeus’s position, I dont think I’d want to come back either.

However, I dont think she would have needed Orsted to make it necessarily.
She is really rich, and has made a lot of money from creating a few more modern products, and selling them, creating a network of merchants and distributers to sell her goods for her.
@kay8487 Bruh she didn't even know the language of the world how would she even do that, the only reason she survived because Orsted wanted to check the area where Mana Calamity occurred. Mind you, I guess not everyone is bad but Orsted's help is what mainly allowed her to make her standing high as it was. Maybe Perugius might have helped too, but not many better alternatives.

Manga here is bad adaptation, already not that good web(weird) novel. The best ones are the anime and the light novel, the anime is based on. I have read all of them, and the light novel is really better written.

She is more than that. All of mushoku tensei character are so complex it's hard to describe them in 1 page.
For example Ariel is genuinely loyal, the reason she strive for the throne is not for himself but for Derrick (his ex-mage) and the entourage that dies supporting her on the way to Ranoa (she remembers each of them).
She's also honorable, perverted, reasonable, brilliant but lack ambition and fundamentally insecure. She is the furthest thing from "soft innocent princess" she's way better.

He only got away with killing Sauros because the Mana Catastrophe crippled the Boreas and everyone bullies Philemon, Luke's dad because he is not the best head of the Notos and everyone reminds him he is not Paul.
Well... it is mostly because Philemon tried to blame Darius faction when a monster attacked Ariel before news of the mass teleportation arrived to the capital and then he was accused of using a tragedy to improve his standing.
But even then he was not the charismatic or cunning leader like Sauros or Philip.

The anime is completely different from its web novel version in terms of vibe. All of this is non canon in the anime and light novel version. Some of this is outright stated in the light novel, like what happened to Paul's friends, with green hair and with the fat baldy. The princess thing isn't explicitly stated, but it is implied extremely heavily, basically just off of being outright said.

These are minor details and not even part of the main points of the novel. It shows how rotten the fantasy world Rudeus was thrown in but somehow a rotten person like him prefers that rotten world than the original one. Because in this world, his morals are above others and that makes him feel benevolent and noble compared to others.
