  • Filmed on 01/03/2022. Venturing further along the West Coast Mainline to Birmingham's International which connects for Birmingham Airport (Season 9 Episode 6)
A Avanti West Coast station operated with 5 platforms in use. There was what looked like a car train but sadly it did get cancelled. Nevertheless, even for an hours trainspotting there is plenty of variety on behalf of Avanti West Coast, Transport For Wales, Cross Country Trains and London North Western Railway.
For the time being, Avanti West Coast & London Northwestern Railway are currently running at a reduced timetable due to current situation. So, London Northwestern Railway have made a plan by but on additional compacity on most of their services and a hourly stopping service to accommodate for Northampton. London Northwestern Railway services between Birmingham New Street and London Euston runs via Northampton.

Great to see you visiting one of my local station Ricky, I really only go there for charters or the odd freight. Cheers Mike

It is a stunning station Birmingham International is. On the day I went, there was supposed to be a car train I think it was but it got cancelled but hopefully in the future, should capture some freight or even charters.
It wasn't filmed but seen at least 3 planes landing at Birmingham International which from the station looks epic :-)

Got to say that if it wasn't for the terminating trains at the other end (and for me, I see no reason why those services couldn't go through to Coventry), the bottom end of Birmingham International would be a cracking shot

I agree with you Ian. It would make sense to extending those services through to Coventry. The bottom end of the station would've been epic. Hopefully in the future, West Midlands Railway/London Northwestern Railway should consider this plan.
