Setting the Global EQ is a must. I have mine set to Low: 90 Hz, 3.0 db, Q 4.0; Low Mid: 260 Hz, 0.0 db, Q 0.6; High Mid: 3000 Hz, 4.0 db, Q 0.1; High: 15000 Hz, 8.0 db, Q 0.1. The EQ Level can be set to however much you want. Experiment with the Global EQ, adjust settings to suit. I think it really helps the overall experience. The Prime is definitely worth a look. I'm glad I took the plunge.

I got the itch for sure I'll be doing a part 2 as soon as I can get my hands on one for a longer period of time. I will explore all the avenues the processor has to offer. I also use eq in place of several gain stage pedals to pick the best clarity so the tone can be refined to magic and inspiration.

With my frfr 108 I set LCut at 100-120 and HCut at 4700. With my RCF st 12 sma ll cut ore shelf setting sounds worse. I'm not using EQ at all. I compare a real Victory V 4 with an 2x12 victory box v30 + v30 80 anniversary - the very nearest to this with headrush is Engl Powerball clean with Custom IR Vinai T Pack from livereadysound. EQ settings in HR makes it worse in this comparsion.

What/Why is "setting the Global EQ" so important? Where is this setting?
    Where is the recorder?
How do you import a custom backing track in .wav format?
Are you plying thru a PA? Or an FRFR speaker?

Full info dump coming soon. I spent the week filming at the blasting room for my friend Chad. He also is my partner in this CZcams channel. Sorry I didn’t catch this question earlier. But I’ll get a better explanation of why I said all those things. As soon as I can.

setting the global eq= Refers to the master eq on the main left and right out of my mixer. Im using the Soundcraft UI24 mixer. The way I approach tone is the same live or in the studio. I want the final tone to be exactly what I want. I've learned over the years how to finesse the EQ and other tools I have at my fingertips. Balancing the tones is very important to me.
The recorder= This is the XLR left and right on my Sony camcorder. I talk about this fact quite often on the channel. I make the point that you don't need a super fancy DAW. Or a fancy interface with lots of plugins to make it sound great. I have access to those tools but with the time allotted it does not make sense to use them for the time being.
Custom backing track in .wav= Importing to where my man?
What I think you meant is as fallows. I get to work with some of the sickest bands in my area. There is always one member of the band that is a tech nerd like me. That being said we want every advantage to make our lives easier on stage and at practice. Backing tracks are a great way to achieve that. You can pick your DAW of choice for this. There is a feature in most DAWs to allow midi timing with audio so everything is synced. This can be as simple as count ins or a speaking cue saying your solo is coming up in the key of F#. That way everyone in the band is on the same page at all times. Either at practice or on stage makes no difference the band always sounds the same to each other. That is key to a tight performance and taking the band to the next level.
Are you plying thru a PA? Or an FRFR speaker?= Depends on the setting. Either option is fine but mostly I would suggest for most players not in a band an FRFR cabinet. When in a band setting I'd always recommend in ears. If that is not obtainable due to funds that's just fine. Spend the money towards a good mixer and great headphone amp. This way you can do a quieter practice setup. Then the next day go rock a show with full pa.
I hope this helps you and anyone else that comes across this in the future. I appriciate the questions, so sorry for the delay getting back to you.

The captures shine on the Prime. I think modeling is on its way out.

I think it's moving that direction as well. The more I dive into the technology the more in impressed. Definitely more to come.

The only problem is, captures need something to be based on. So for anything new to appear, we need either real amps manufacturers to stay alive, or detailed component modeling to experiment with virtual amps.

A lot of aliasing on captures, and less tweak ability, fractal (the leader of the industry) didn't go the capture way for a reason

Noted some times it helps the experience for the people with nano second attention spans. So I tried not to leave too much dead space. I like to switch up styles and see what sticks for me and my fellow tone junkies of all ages out there.
      Thanks for the feedback.

im 64 and all these pedal boards you have to be a computer genious to use these things im sick of all the tech . I have my deluxe reverb a tuner and overdrive pedal i dont understand any of this stuff and will die before i do .

I have helped many player in your shoes at least once a week for the last 15 years at my day job. Remember, the spaceship pedals are a means to an end and serve a purpose. But it will never replace an amp in the room for the sheer inspiration that is created by moving air from an actual speaker. At least in my eyes. But I’m always happy to learn more about the tools that are available that can make my job easier as a musician. And the more you tune in the more you will understand my madness. Thanks for the comment.
