The Rise of a First-Gen Graduate at Intel

Cindy Rogel Bahena (’21 BSE in materials science and engineering), an alumna of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering and Barrett, The Honors College, works at Intel in semiconductor quality control. The oldest of seven children, Cindy is the first generation in her family to earn a college degree and grew up just 45 minutes from ASU’s Tempe campus. While at ASU, Cindy landed internships in the semiconductor industry that prepared her for her career and helped her obtain a full-time job after graduation. Cindy wants to be a role model for those who follow in her footsteps - something she never had growing up, not knowing any Latina engineers.
