I think too many people dont realize that the zombie stuff is part of the zombie world theme not the red-eyes theme.
Zombie structure deck too basically face of a previous structure deck (dragon's roar) and zombiefying it. Its like "why doesnt toon work in red-eyes"

Red eyes darkness metal is basically a free playset since you can get 3 of the dragon maid structure deck (which has other useful cards like shrine and hieratic seals)

If blue eyes and dark magician is not meta relevant with its support, do yall except reds to get good support. Use the red eyes core with thunder dragon and it will pop off

This acrhetype literally has identity crisis. Red-eyes trying to become everything like Gemini, Ritual, all Extra Deck variant, Union, Toon, etc. We just don't have Spirit and Pendulum, yet. Also, it is weird when they have lv. 8 Ritual, while Red-eyes monsters are lv. 7 Dragon monsters. And also the playstyles are always different too, sometime they're burn deck, sometime they're Tower-like deck, etc.
    .
I can say Red-eyes is an iconic card, but it still less popular than the MC and Villain like Dark Magician and Blue-eyes. So, I think Konami can retrain the vanilla to become more useful card, without removing the nostalgia aspect from the card.
    .
But it is interesting to see Konami "glue" this messy archetype. I like decks with multiple mechanics like D/D/D & Magikey.

I play a Red-Eyes engine in my Vanquish Soul deck. Its not much but its fun.
Basically I use the level 6 that sends REBD to GY and summons itself.
I use various tuner combinations to make golden cloud beast Malong, With Borger thats the Rank 7 xyz burn. And when they out it, Malong goes to GY and you can spin a card :)

I genuinely love the designs of the red eyes cards and even though they aren't strong, I'd say they're at least cool

For some reason konami ignores red-eyes completely. You would think it would have the same treatment as dark magician and blue-eyes which receive constant support but uhh I guess not.
The deck is really outdated now and is pretty much useless and what's even worse is that even when the newest support released, it already wasn't that good (red-eyes fusion released when we already had shaddoll fusion that is just better in every way). There are a few saving graces, the deck has a good draw card, a good search card that also sets up the grave, and master duel still has Verte Anaconda legal, so you could use that to bypass red-eyes fusion condition of not being able to summon other monsters before that (you simple cannot do more summons after it, so just make Verte last and copy red-eyes fusion effect), but still right now there is no payoff for it since the one really good fusion (red-eyes dark dragoon) is banned.
But if they made new good cards, like maybe a new rank 7, and some actually useful lvl 7 monsters that still count as red-eyes and of course a new good boss monster fusion, than the deck could be decent. Honestly I really don't know why Konami haven't done this already, it seems like such a no brainer.

It doesnt. Just play the Red Eyes best cores cards at 30 and mix them in a Chaos engine or Flame Swordsman engine (which is 10 cards). In total, a 40 card deck.

Black stone of legend is a really great card as it ages as 7 and lower is something red-eyes will almost always certainly get. You open black stone + noctovision/bystial and you get a rank 7 or 6.
Black metal dragon is literally one of the best dark dragons in the game and thats why dlink abuses it
Red-eyes baby dragon...its shit but the point of it is to pair with gearfried. You crash baby -> summon gearfried -> destroy baby (and maybe pop a spell/trap) -> trigger baby second effect to get BMD-> equip bmd to gearfried then send it to gy to revive baby -> giving you 2 bodies on field and then a search of any red-eyes card.
Wyvern yeah this card is almost 2 decades old its not gonna be too great now but i can technically see play for a grind game option as a 1 of.
Red-eyes retro dragon... the effect basically only pairs with slash dragon to swarm the field for like 4 bodies but its fell off as powercreep happened, and its second effect should never of required it to tribute itself that was just stupid
Gearfried as i said earlier the pop of the equip is optional and the main focus is to pop your baby or black metal dragon.
Geminis overall yeah they all are just a powercrept mechanic. Flare was cool but slow, archfiend cool but slow, meteor impact actually can be useful when you use something like gemini ablation since its the only one of 3 that has a continous effect.
Red-eyes Meteor black dragon quite literally one of the best cards of the archetype overall as it supports both foolishing a normal, helps xyz plays, and sets up a fusion to finish the game on the following turn.
Red-eyes fusion was certainly harsh for literally no fucking reason as back when it released you were fusing 2 normals(as the geminis dont work for ABSD) to either make a battle based burning fusion, a non effect fusion, a non effect fusion. Eventually they released comet which gave a turn 1 option that was way more generic overall then eventually slash helped with the equip based strategy.
Red-eyes soul....the card with absolute the most potential with no real targets sadly outside of a baby, a vanilla(or vanilla gemini), or darkness metal. I do wish soul ignored summoning conditions so darkness or alternative(in tcg) could have more use but i guess that would of made the new red-eyes fullmetal would be broken turn 0 negate (although soul technically allows us to do that when you pair it with certain non archetype cards)
The paladin ritual is actually a decent paladin compared to other ones as he can basically act as stone with no level restriction and his ritual spell gets a search later but hes basically dead
Inferno fire blast one of the main reason konami fears supporting red-eyes as it has the ability to ftk Especially somewhat more consistent with soul burn
Cards of the red stone another card with potential as we get more level 7s but as it is only soul and the vanilla is the only set in stone*badumtsh* ones
Lord of the Red/Red-eyes transmigration. Fun card overall like that the ritual can banish cards from gy as material it can work in a grind game or as a finishing part of the board
Red-eyes Spirit old but not horrible
Red-eyes burn more part of the ftk strategy especially when paired with comet+trap track(it works)
Fang with chain god this card is amazing and i hope we get a soul target that allows us to use it as turn 0 interruption
Return of the red-eyes grind game and swarming option
Flare metal what should basically always be the turn 1 set up now since REF is meant to be the big finisher later being searched by meteor who you used for flare earlier in the game.
Ultimately the fact that we are about 10 cards behind blue-eyes and 20 cards behind dark magician and yet our cards are some of the most abused overall.
bmd+darkness metal+black meteor(and eventually fullmetal) are all abused by dlink/other dragon decks
Red-eyes fusion abused in formats with dragoon esepcially when verte was there.
I genuinely believe a singular structure deck or atleast a new supp wave as the last wave red-eyes got was 7 years ago (meanwhile DM/BE last supp wave was 3 and look whos getting a structure deck this year sigh)
At the very least we can copium that red-eyes will hopefully get a good crossover card with the new flame swordsman archetype in a few months(in ocg atleast) as well as hoping the second wave of metalmorph gives us a new level 7 rebd retrain in the same style as the new zoa retrain whenever that gets its eventually next wave as there are important cards to that duel that are missing references/retrains such as REBD and graverobber (and technically even flame swordsman since he was the one who suffered at the power of metalmorph protection over zoa but i think thatd be an art ref)

The problem with red is that is based on a vanilla, much as brick eyes and DM they have powerful cards but are to support a pretty bad vanilla monster. And the fusions are not strong enough

The fusions are 100% outdated. Red eyes fusion also is extremely outdated considering you can't normal or special summon before and after the effect.

@@WeBeenDifferentwhat's hilarious is REF was outdated when it released as shaddoll fusion existed
