I wish this came with the spear kousen instead of the sword. It was such a unique kousen and truly reflects the neanderthal feel of Blazar. Not only that, we've barely got kousen with Ultras anymore. Most of the time it's included as DLC (a term my friend and I jokingly used for accessories found in other, harder to get product for the regular release that meant to be there instead) in other releases, not the one it truly meant to came with. Mebius thankfully escaped this trend and gave you everything you want, but it doesn't seem to last. I get it, the sword is cool. But the uniqueness of Ultraman, one of the character's 3's (I dunno what it is called, but it's a term used by a character designer I watched) is the kousen. If it's weapon, then it's just Kamen Rider or Super Sentai. So yea, kinda dissapointed. They could've include the kousen here and the sword in the FRS one. But advertise them as being compatible. Thus you'll trick ppl to buy both. And hey, the FRS got amazing part seperation, so it'll look good for SHF
the reason why Mebius got his beam is because he isnt a new gen ultra. Only new gen ultras get their accessories sold seperately because the other forms/characters would still be fresh in people's minds as the series is recently aired. if you look at the list, only new gen base forms dont get much, while the showa ultras get a ton of accessories
The joint on the head is to allow better range of motion for him to look up and down, especially to replicate his rising poses or a side kick / dropping kick.
Great review. Just got mine this week. Absolutely love it. Though I think this is definitely a me problem. I thought the sword is just one piece of plastic with no parts so nothing to worry about but nope. The hilt and the blade isn’t one piece but two sticks together so my clumsy hand break the hilt from the sword! 😭. Thankfully nothing a good Tamiya light cement can’t fix and will be sure to be extra careful with the sword from now on.
