      I think Zelda should have a natural evolution. TLDR: Better Lore.
      I want the next Zelda game to stick to traditionality. However, I do not want Ocarina Of Time again. We are keeping the design from BOTW for the future of the franchise so I'll keep that in mind. I think I would just like there to be an idea for some sort of gimmick, and I think I want to not see, but HEAR Link speak. There's voice acting, Totk's writing in dialogue was scuffed to the point where I was yelling at my monitor. So maybe, perhaps, take elements from JRPG's and have a better approach to us theorists who pick apart tid bits and try to put them together cohesively. With the latest title, for me, that was sort of impossible. I like to think of making things likw writing. People will have their opinions, but when it comes down to it, you are responsible for what you decide to put on the page. JRR Tolkein wrote so much and even drew a map of the whole land in my LOTR book. I think they expected people to look at it and talk about it right? Apologies for this huge comment but I guess I want better lore. In terms of game mechanics, preferably longer lasting items or reusable or go back to NO DURABILITY. I do not like grinding in my Zelda game, So nintendo, PLEASE KEEP IT TO RUPEES. Speaking of Items and this is my last request to nintendo, Bring back heart pieces. I swear the land feels way too empty and repetitive, and maybe its the same with HP' HOWEVER, I feel more satisfied with doing all those little puzzles rather than the shrines. And I'm not going to talk about Korok seeds. They used to be my favourite species in Zelda but now they probably are on the D list now.

    I'm not saying Nintendo doesn't know what they're doing, but it feels like every time we get a new mainline Legend Of Zelda game, they seem to ignore the fans to the point that for whatever reason, many of flaws of the previous games are either not addressed in the new games, (No underwater mechanics in either BOTW or TOTK.) or when something is addressed, you spend ages fart-arsing around with aggravating side quests just to get some piecemeal solution to the original problem. (Getting and upgrading the froggy armour.) Now, I'm in no way advocating for Nintendo to completely throw out it's open-air gameplay mechanics in the next game, just that they pay attention to what they know the Zelda community would not just like, but would actually want.

    • @elsahyrule6711
      @elsahyrule6711 Před 2 měsíci

      IMO I don’t think Nintendo listen to their Zelda fans at all. They create the game how they like it. Freedom and gameplay is clearly more important than a coherent story with actual progression. Bring back the more magical elements from older Zelda games and incorporate the triforce which is non existent in BOTW/TOTK. Were Zelda’s powers only a one time thing? Because in TOTK she needed a secret stone to tap into them. I didn’t care for the new abilities in TOTK the previous abilities were just as good. Same goes for the champion
      Abilities. Fans wanted more traditional dungeons in TOTK yet Nintendo could only manage some half arsed attempt. Water temple? It’s not a water temple if there’s only a puddle. The lightning and fire were semi decent I suppose. I really hope they make more effort with then next Zelda game I really do.

    • @mkjjoe
      @mkjjoe Před 2 měsíci

      @@elsahyrule6711 To ask for more effort or more specific things is fair, I have wishes too after TOTK but I think Nintendo's handling of feedback is a bit more uncertain than that. Speculating of course. First yeah they definitely end up doing things their way, but they do look around for a general sense of what would be relevant. WW to TP, SS to BOTW, and BOTW being such a massive success signaled to them that a sequel was warranted and shouldn't be too different... though that signal maybe became noise because despite seeing very recurring complaints, that's still many millions of various players they had to aim at. I agree that their baby steps for TOTK are sometimes weird, at the same time it feels like their way to compromise with "look, we do have incredible concepts and ways to do things, but also this is still like BOTW so most of you won't feel lost". In any case I'm hopeful for them moving to a new setting and console, they need the creative space like they had going into BOTW even if not to be as revolutionary.

      @@elsahyrule6711a few points where you could be wrong, the Tri Force does exist in BOTW/TOTK, but it takes a backseat to the story that’s established. However, you still see it on the shield and in many areas of the game, also, the Goddess Dragons exist that are directly related to the Tri force goddess. Zelda never had full control over her abilities, so touching the stone amplified what’s already there. Who is to say she can’t hone that power after TOTK, but then you run the risk of another timeline loop. I’ve been playing Zelda since the beginning of time so I get the fanboy hype, but we as fans ask for too much when it comes to our fantasies. Best you can do is apply as a game designer and help.

    A simplification I've decided the next big 3D Zelda game needs is fewer and more satisfying challenges for adding heart containers. Instead of the 1/4 heart or orb collection format, just make longer puzzle games that test the hero/player and really earn those containers. And do the same thing for Stamina containers. And make specific locations for specific heart or stamina rewards. That would change the strategy of where to go and when for that power up, instead of just idly picking random or easier shrines to build up power. OH, and more progression markers that require a higher count of hearts or stamina to move forward, like the doors in totk or pulling the Master Sword.
    I've said it before, but creating a linear story told to the player regardless of the order of quest completion is possible. However the legwork becomes recording and animating the whole story for every dungeon end cut scene, and triggering the correct portion as needed.
    The things I believe will be in the games for the long haul are: huge maps, fast traveling, weapon diversity (and fragility), many armor sets with diverse buffs, the fighting controls, 4-5 major boss fights, climbing, stamina wheels and high heart count. The features listed are pretty much what make the "wild" era games the most memorable in my opinion. These features built into just about any better crafted story line, with more engaging stakes would be great. Will people boo it as more botw dlc? Maybe. The more I think about how they could have altered even the existing totk to be different, the more I realize that format has been barely scratched.

      Oh, and if Link is gonna get four new powers again as a tutorial area, can we please just change the 'obtaining them' format something that's not exactly the same as a shrine for the rest of the game. Like, maybe a unique temple, or a ceremony? idk, just a thought. Imagine if instead of just another 4 boring tutorial shrines for totk, Link had to travel to four separate temples on four different islands, the fist being ultrahand on the Great Sky Island. Then you can build stuff to travel to other islands. Ugh, I hate that just came up with ANOTHER way to make that game so much better....

I'd love to see this with more distinct biomes/design schemes. Windwaker mostly stuck to the tropical look, save for a few places.
    I also think it might be a good idea to go with some kind of distinctive, more agile way to traverse the waves this time. Instead of a dragon-shaped boat, what about an actual dragon you can ride, one that skims across the waves and allows Link to fight as if on horseback, but with even greater utility, as a dragon with a serpentine body could perform quite a variety of precise maneuvers to make striking targets far less ungainly than fighting on horseback, and could add to the destruction with its own abilities. :D

I just think they leaned too heavily on those mechanics in creating the Divine Beasts (like a guitarist relying on catchy power chords to carry a song without much else charismatic going on) while the Stone Tower and Forest Temples were rich with their own charm beside that mechanic itself.

    • @TheRealNintendoKid
      @TheRealNintendoKid Před 2 měsíci +1

      the problem wasn't those mechanics, it was the fact that the dungeons were way too short and barely had any enemies in them.

    • @amandaslough125
      @amandaslough125 Před 2 měsíci

      @@TheRealNintendoKidIt was also a problem that _each_ of the main dungeons featured the same gimmick and aesthetic, instead of like 1 or 2.

      @@TheRealNintendoKid: Also, the open-ended nature of BotW eliminated a lot of the process of going through a normal Zelda dungeon. Getting around and unlocking passages just to reach the major goals in each dungeon made up for a lot of their content. While they didn't entirely remove such obstacles in Divine Beasts, a lot of them didn't matter and could be skipped easily.

    I said the same for OOT, but i feel the same for Wind Waker. I think it would make even more sense with an open world remaster. We could get everything we had before, but WAY more. Cut content from the original game could come to us as well. A full fledged water dungeon and underwater areas would just be so fitting. Ship building with the king of red lions being a design on the bow of ship permanently. He could have a head in the captain's (you) quarters as well to speak to you. Even if it wasn't a wind waker reboot, I could totally see Zelda in a Sea of Thieves style, but obviously way more fleshed out as a single player game.

    Here's a unique idea for the newest Zelda games Link and Ganondorf having a more personal history with each other where it's revealed Link's mom was originally going to be Ganondorf's wife but she turned down because of his ways and dark magic and chose Link's dad over him making Ganondorf's hatred of Link as more understanding since he's the son of his ex wife and Ganondorf is bitter and egoist over it and it makes sense why he threatens and targets Link the most and why he doesn't like Link since he's Ganondorf's ex wife's son.
    This idea looks so cool and interesting to see.

    I think the Zelda team will approach their planning differently than how the ideas in this video are being framed. I think they will first think about a way to innovate.
    The innovation of Breath of the Wild was taking an open world game approach and allowing for climbing everywhere. The innovation of Tears was both in the verticality and Ultrahand mechanic.
    Both of these things were innovations on top of the open world genre format. These innovations were coupled with many of the usual sorts of things you see in open world games (e.g. towers to give you a map).
    I think the first thing the team will brainstorm is how they can expand upon the open world genre, if they stick to that at all (as it seems like they will based on public comments). From that, I think things like whether the world is more Wind Waker-y is a detail. Whether the world is Wind Waker-y will depend on whether this serves their innovative idea.

You can find different smaller water vehicles You can leave the big ship and explore at any time. Have all the old school zelda tropes by having 9 big dungeons. You find the tools in whatever order you stumble upon them. I think the would be a great base game

Make this story say 20 yrs later with a King Link and Queen Zelda butnthe new character is their daughter who has some mom's powers and has to learn about how to use them. But also Dad's skill and swordsmanship. Make her a younger sibling to an older Offspring thats the heir to the kingdom. Maybe make that old sibling the new "Bad Guy" or something. Or maybe still a good guy but the sister has to build up alliances with other kingdoms to reveal an even bigger threat they would all have to join forces and fight.

    I would be totally ok with them reusing the botw art style and making it the same link and zelda as botw. That way it could be a trilogy. You just have to come up with some reason why link and zelda go to this new world. That way we also wouldn’t have ganon as the villain. We beat him twice now in botw and totk so its time for a new villain. You could also still have sky islands, just not connected to the zonai anymore, they wouldn’t be huge focus point of the game but im thinking 1 big sky island with a dungeon on it and then some smaller islands. Same goes for the dephts, this new openworld can also have a depths world it would pair especially well with the underwater world where if u go deep enough in the ocean you end up in the depths with some giant creepy fish monsters. If ultrahand and the building makes a return we could even build submarines to traverse the underwater world.

They said no DLC, but if it's the "deluxe" version for a new system then it's not DLC, and it will surely bring hastier adoption of the new system by Zelda fans.

    • @mkjjoe
      @mkjjoe Před 2 měsíci

      I definitely see an upgrade patch, the engine is probably just ready for higher performance. However I think that they're _done_ done in terms of content, considering they've spent over a decade on this iteration already, capitalized very well, and all their creative effort for main line games are likely to be required sooner than later for a heavy hitter ready not too far into the next console's life span.
      If they did come back for TOTK content, not sure how well it would go: BOTW had everything set up near release and while nice, it wasn't too substantial, but people mostly understood how massive this first take was already. With payed content TOTK can't go too deep in story or world building which since release have been criticized for being quite lackluster in the base game, and it's risky to push DLC for what is often referred to as a huge BOTW expansion. A master mode would either be as superficial as in BOTW, or more time-consuming and I'd rather they just move on for good...
