- Hello, dear friends around the world 💙
I share bits of my life in our tiny village here in Northern Finland. The winter still keeps us waiting, and in the meantime I do my things - baking, reading and knitting.
I hope you are doing well, lots of love and light to your days ✨💛

I can understand why you feel like you do. It seems the world has gone mad in the pursuit of money and power. You and your friends were quite right to decide to keep your village and community just as it is. Sounds lovely! Incidentally, your bread looks amazing! 🇬🇧
The world did not go mad , you finally started to realize that THIS IS THE WORLD …. My suggestion to you is to familiarize yourself with cognitive biases … you can also read “The laws of human nature” by Greene , the “Prince” by Machiavelli and “Republic” by Plato… You created the world in your head based on the fairy tales and movies , and now you see that the real world can not fit in to the model you have created in your head and you feel pain … Like I mentioned before read on the subject of cognitive biases …
@@user-dd6id9bn1e your comment is arrogant and preachy. Many of us who grew up in the West didn't experience a cut throat world. People were kinder. Manners and courtesy used to be important.
@@user-dd6id9bn1e You are a very angry person!
@@user-dd6id9bn1edose it occur to you that the world is a changing place? Maybe right now fits the model in your mind but it’s not a be all of all the time! I bet dinosaurs felt the same way about the world…
It's good to give money its proper value, power though that is a real burden.
I think it's wonderful that someone so young has already discovered what is important in life, it takes a lifetime for some.
When I was young (+-20 years), I thought there was a path of my own, but then came bysy years (studies, own family, children, Works, etc). Now I have again time and need to find my own path, way of thinking and way of living.
I Will go to this world step by step. And it is exciting.
Какая очаровательная и милая финка! ❤❤❤

You and your village made a very wise decision keeping it the way you love it. Thats the reason all of you love to live there.❤
I came across it while looking at nature videos on CZcams. The beginning of the video made me feel like I was listening to a book. As nature, the springs of the Black Sea region of Turkey came to my mind. Small villages, people living in peace with nature. Frankly, as long as you respect nature, nature gives you what you want. It becomes more beautiful when we try to understand and love it instead of destroying it. Thank you. Greetings from Turkey, to the people beautified by nature
My beautiful friend, how expert and quick you are at knitting. Your sweater and pullover are really beautiful.
Sanna .... Sanna...Now you do not feel alone we all around the world with you through your's camera eye and we are talking through comments. Your camera eye gives us so so much ..... Thanks....Keep the all seasons stories from your village.
Lot's of Love From India 🇮🇳...!!😊🌹🌹❤❤
I just wish i could live more simpler life. My soul craves peace and nature more than anything.
Your videos are like a mini vacation for people like me who live in suburbia in the USA. Very enjoyable! Thanks!
I love that you and your people in the village decided to keep things the way they are and most of all that " they" are letting you do that. Hopefully the money and power people will leave you alone in the future and let you live your life the way you choose to. Love your videos and your beautiful country.
Yes, where I live in La Alpujarra in Spain a village called Soportújar has let itself be suddenly trashed by mass tourism & it’s money only for a few & it has totally changed the traditional way of life.
@@clarewiley9938 It seems to be the same story the world over. It certainly is here in north Scotland :(
Thankyou for making all our day feel, a lot warmer, happier and exciting about the small things ❤✨🌈❤️✨
You have such an ease in front of the camera, it really feels like it's just you with each of us having a personal conversation! In person and in exchange, we each would have much to say to you as well!
У нас тоже сегодня снег и ветер. Мы вообще рядом живём, за полярным кругом, только в разных странах. Как будто почувствовала запах этого домашнего хлеба. ❤️
Contentment is *everything*. It is absolutely the key to happiness. It takes years for most people to understand that. I think your community sounds wonderful. x
I just found your channel, I grew up in Finland and this brings back such memories thank you🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮
Finland the Happiest country in the world, can't wait to visit, anyone watching your video is looking for peace and calm in the world, here's a bit of a succuor
When you talk about the springtime struggle, I totally understand! I lived in Finland when I was in my 20s, and spring was always difficult for me. While everyone else was enjoying the sunlight and warmer temperatures, I was either sleeping or crying. The sudden increase in light affected me very deeply. I'm now in my 50s and I live in Florida, so I don't have that problem anymore! I enjoy watching your videos and remembering what I love about Finland.
That happens to many people in Finland. We call it kevätmasennus, spring depression.
Here in Kolkata, we just went through a 20 day heatwave of temperatures above 42 degrees. It was crazy. There's no spring here. It's winter, straight to summer. We just wait for the monsoon rains to bring us relief 🙏🏽
Another lovely video, Sanna, thank you. You speak very movingly about your life in a remote, peaceful place. For me, your videos are a good reminder of the importance of being aware of what I'm spending my time doing (and I am very much older than you, so I need the occasional reminder!). Thank you so much for your channel.
You are so simple,so beautiful, so true and so peace giving. God bless and hats off to you. Regards
Sanna, it sounds like you make a healthy distinction between your personal goals and that of the community. Nothing wrong with that!!! It’s great you have discovered this about yourself at such a young age! 😊
Your community was so smart to not be interested in any development. I have watched the place of my birth be developed into ruin. I have moved to other beautiful places and watched them also be developed into ruin. I live on a beautiful island that was once very simple and sweet and has now also been developed into ruin. More is not better, and I was so happy to hear that your lovely village was smart enough to understand this and keep to a simple sweet way of life. Many blessings to you, young lady. It is so enjoyable watching your videos. Sending much Aloha from the Hawaiian island of Maui.🌺🌈🙋♀️
Very nice to see your little village..I am a 3rd generation Finnish lady..from the U.P. of Michigan..the calmness and contentment you feel are so impressive..thank you😊
When I was a little girl we had the “book mobile” stop in our neighborhood. It was my absolute favorite monthly event! I love that you have the same thing! New books to read are such a great comfort.
Thank you so much for your beautiful video wbich gives me so much joy. I love all of them. You understand what is important in life. We live close to nature in a sub tropical climate in South Africa. I love our life, but sometimes the very hot summers can wear me down and then I wish for some snow( which we never have here). So I think it is very much the same experience you have at the end of winter. I am looking forward to your knitting video. I absolutely love to knit although I only knit with straight needles. You are so kind. 🫶🏻
Thank you for your beautiful, heartfelt tribute to this time of seasonal transition. How wonderful to cherish a quiet life enough to choose preserve all that is good in it. Your vldeo is so lovely & lyrical. ❤😊
I was so pleased when you said you wanted your village to stay the same. I don’t think many people understand that some of us enjoy a simple style of life. Your excitement of the library bus coming reminded me of an email I received last week from Google. It told me that the highlight of my month was my local library! Thank you so much for your generosity in sharing your life.
Loved this comment. Love my local library too!
Hey
You are very right about your reflection because it is important to be an individual in a relationship as well simply because we all are one. We all have personal preferences, and we are all different. It's just as important to spend time alone as it is to spend time together and it's healthy for both in which ever relationship really even friendships as well. When we spend time with ourself that effort will benefit the one's we care about because selfcare equals how full our own cup is to share with others. Nobody can just keep giving, because then the cup will become empty, and that will affect others.
So, spend time with yourself as well. You are doing something right.
Good morning Sanna. I am Soula from Greece. I like so much the way you live ❤
I love the simplicity of your life. There is great peace and joy in the quiet. Thank you for sharing your life. 😊🇺🇸
Thank you for sharing your life. It means a great deal to me. I grew up in the South of America and moved to the Mid-Atlantic coast of America years ago. Then, several years back I moved to Maine and lived alone for two years and can so much put myself in your shoes as you describe your feelings, experiences and philosophy.
It took the better part of those two years in Maine with similar weather and seasonal patterns to your Finland to acclimate physically and mentally and my soul. It brought about a connection to nature and patience for change of seasons and along with this an appreciation of quiet simple things and joy in the smallest things that went unnoticed in the hurry blurry of the other places. I began to really enjoy being alone with myself and comfortable within myself really experiencing with appreciation of the world and people around me.
Thanks, again. You are a blessing. Here's to a happy Spring.
Watching videos like this can bring you so close to nature with its simplicity , love and peace of mind. From Montréal, Canada I congratulate you for your success in shooting these balmy and pleasant days of late wintervideos with the best of luck.

Wow... the morning silence is just being stopped when the birds come. That's just beautiful... I wake up every morning, of every day, by the sound of airplanes flying over my house and traffic
Thank you Sanna, Rover has me chuckling.
I envy you having a white winter. I live in NZ and during winter it rains and rains until everything is muddy in my area. My dream is to experience a snowy day and a darkness most of the day.
I live in NZ, too. I love these videos.

White winter is not easy in a 9 to 5 life believe me, but may be you would love it, I like , your winter, live in Canada since birth so know what I'm talking about hihi, have a good day
I envy you guys having Winter.
Your channel, with its snowy landscapes and cool vibes, offers a refreshing escape from India's scorching summers. It's like a virtual chill pill providing respite and helping us stay cool,.Your touch of icy bliss makes our summer days a little more bearable.
Although we've never met, your influence has been profound. Thank you for sparking the inspiration behind my audiobook channel. Your impact reaches farther than you may realize, and I'm really happy I came through your channel.
Beautiful and wonderful video, congrats Sanna. Your video makes back in 1984 when I visited Finland for the first time (Helsinki, Kupio and Kemi). I hadn't be back since then. I brought with me two loafs of bread, dark bread full of chocolate and fruits for showing them to my freinds here in Casablanca. You are right to let your village small, quiet and peaceful as it is now.

Hello from the Philippines I love watching your videos I find it relaxing 😊🙏
it's not fair .how come you're so smart and know yourself so well at your age ?
i love your reflections on "in between " .i'm always in a hurry . and even bitching to god to get on with it ,i remember once saying to god ,"look instead of a praise session how about i just tell you you're a good bloke ,then we can get on with it "because i don't like where i am . i bet i surprise you saying living in aus ,"i've never seen snow ".
and you're ideas about being alone is spot on .
A real woman is not defined by bread making. We all have our gifts.

Wishes you a spring life,
I live in Saudi Arabia and I love desert and I spend times there away from people .
Sanna, thank you so much for your videos and for the inspiration you share through a simple things of simple but mindful life. Sometimes, ‘winter’ and ‘time-in-between’ seems to be not just because of 2-meters snow out the window, but because of life that stopped because of different circumstances. However, what we all have is a hope and believe that indeed spring will come one day and sun will give the life back🌷🐝🌷🐝 Warm greetings from Ukraine.
Many thanks for this amazing video about pure nature and simple quiet nordic life. Snowy winters have always been a great source of inspiration for me too, in my country Tunisia in North Africa, usually we have only few snowy days every year in some cities in the north west and center west , such as Aïn Draham, El Kef, Thala, Kesra...etc For that reason I feel the whole time a huge longing for that magnificent weather and where's weirdness in that, since scientists have found out in 2005 that Berbers peoples share the same mitochondrial DNA link (U5b1b) with Scandinavian Sámi peoples, a maternal lineage aged of merely 9000 years!!!
Ciao e grazie per questo tuo commento che mi ha insegnato cose che non conoscevo Davvero molto interessante.un caro saluto dall’Italia❤
I couldn’t stop by without leaving a comment on how inspirational I found this video this morning - food for my soul. It’s a wet dreary day here in the UK and this already brightened my day! Finding moments of time that we can enjoy in solitude so we can hear ourselves (even if it’s a small amount of time) is definitely like hitting a reset button.
I am glad you are keeping your village peaceful and simple. There is much to be said for peace and quiet ❤
Wise decision your village made! A simpler life is such a blessing! Oh my goodness your breads look so good.
So calming absolutely adore these videos... watching from Ireland 🇮🇪 😊
Sanna :) maybey you can build a big underground greenhouse? The temperature inside will stay ok enough for plants to survive wintercold and some people are even growing orange and lemon trees of peach in it in cold Alaska! Because of the huge amount of light you have right now, there is a good chance you already can grow seedlings at this moment! There are a lot of video's on youtube about underground greenhouses to see. much love from the Netherlands xx Pauline
Sanna I love your videos so much! I much prefer watching you instead of television or movies. Great job! I also make sourdough bread and mine are not as beautiful as what I see on social media but they are very delicious and bring me a lot of joy eating them. I use just a little less rye than you but I think I will increase it and see how it turns out.
In my little town and in my state so many people want to grow and build more and more. But I love it just the way it is.
Thank you so much for what you do! I am looking forward to many more videos in the future.
The bread looks wonderful and you can tell how much care you put into…which is probably what makes it taste delicious. Have a wonderful day and may spring come soon 😊
😚😚
Thank you for your videos. I find them so peaceful and grounding. Your transparency shines through and it’s a beautiful thing.
one of My favorite Finnish youtubers, the real spring will begin the next week of may. plus I begin the count down to return to Finland, to visit my horse ranch friends
You are an amazing knitter. Your sweaters are beautiful. The sourdough bread looks delicious. I am glad you love where you live. You have so much snow.
I can understand the great pleasure the library bus brings, it’s one of my favourite things too. Your dogs give lots of love @ help to make the days less long. Love from Australia, very different to your surroundings. I am grateful for the riches in my life too (most of the time). Haha!
Very pleasant to see a good combination beauty, happiness and wisdom in the midst of hard realities of environment and daily life.
Strange and inspiring. May you continue it successfully and happily! ❤
Beautiful video Sanna
Things are starting to grow here in Ireland after a very wet winter
Not much snow when I was young fifty years ago we seamed to have a lot more
Regards
Hello from Canada. I totaly understand how you get a little tired of winter. Especially as the daylight becomes longer than night. I don't eat bread but would like to try what you just made. I wish you and and your husband stay well and have a good summer. As short as it may be.
She looks like a fairy❤
And of course our peace is within us. Thankyou for what you do.
What a luxury😊 a rolling library !
I'd enjoy that too. I will send Spring up to your place😂 so look out for it....
Thank you for sharing your life. I would love to live deep in Nature as you do, where there are no noises, no trains, no trafic.
Vielen Dank für den kleinen Film❤️.
Awesome eyes aft the snow
Thank you for sharing this video. The bread look awesome, I bet with some butter, jam and coffee they are very tasty.😊
Thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts. I really enjoy watching your videos and learn about Northern Finland through your eyes ❤️❤️❤️
absolutely refreshing ~ each and every aspect.
Your eyes are as blue as that jacket you were wearing 💙
I can't believe there is still that much snow where you live! It's the middle of summer here.
Here in Kolkata, even though we're also in the northern hemisphere, we just went through a crazy prolonged heatwave with temperatures touching 45 degrees C for over two weeks. Can't wait for the rains, cool weather is precious here. Monsoon brings magic here in the subcontinent every year.
We exist too!
I' m from India . I love the nature of European country ..❤❤
Thank you for the thoughtful and calming video that spreads love and peace.
You express yourself very well
i am also a knitter and would love to see your sweaters ideas nd yarn you use and patterns . your videos on nature nd beauty are just so swesome !
Thank you, Sanna. I look forward to your calm videos. I understand exactly about your village; I feel the same way. We live in the country for a reason. Many years ago we lived in big cities, around the world, thankful for what all we were able to see, do and learn, but it is not for me anymore. I love the quiet peaceful simple life. Our little town nearby is trying to grow, more people are coming in and businesses are growing. I find myself staying away from it all as much as possible.
How beautiful the white grouse is! Thank you Sanna!
Angel girl, who can look at life so positively and logically, with a maturity and simplicity well beyond her years, you are truly impressive...
God bless you.................

I would love to have a little sunroom or attached greenhouse to start plants a couple of months earlier. I envy the people south of us, but as you learn more you find out rhat they are done with their garden by July because it is too hot. They can garden through the winter, but i enjoy having a rest and switching to other activities during the cold months. I like the deep differences in the seasons here.
Kiitos Sanna ihanasta Videosta ❤
Just wonderful Sanna, thank you ❤️
How enchanting these out-of-the-away places feel! I have never been physically in the world of snow and ice, having lived all my life in the perpetual summer of the equator, in Africa, but I find myself, many times invited by its allure and I do watch videos of that world very much. I love how well preserved they keep the environment.
Thank you so much! I wish I lived there!❤
You and your village both are very beautifull just like a paradise , particularly , your accent of speaking English is very understandable I love you
and your country people I am from pakistan
Thank you for sharing this. I enjoyed watching it from here in the Philippines. It reminded me of my time in Scandinavia. 🎉
Sanna, I understand the winter is sooooo long, and feels like you will never see the dirt, soil or things growing, but the other things you have and enjoy makes your life very different than most others. The bread you make is truly beautiful! It could be in any bakery anywhere in the world! I would love to taste it! My husband makes his own bread with a sourdough starter we’ve been using for about three years now! Many warm hugs, ClaudiaSJI
Such a fairy tale I love you from India good day
European food is so simple comparing to food from countries such as Iran(my original country), Turkey, Azerbaijan etc, despite Finland is a developed and advanced country. I was in Germany and the same thing, very simple foods, sosage and potato is very popular, however southern Europe like Italy and Greece, the variety of food is amazing.
Ciao, sono italiana e condivido il tuo pensiero.ciascun paese ha piatti tipici prelibati, ma la cucina italiana e sopraffina e io amo tanto cucinare per la mia famiglia. Ciao!❤
We call the snow “snirt” when it gets dirty. Lol. Your pups look happy. Mine are not as fond of the snow but I love it. They are very close to the ground though, dachshunds. I’m an introvert and while I love people I need alone time to recharge my batteries so to speak. My husband was the opposite so sometimes I had to just go for a drive by myself!❤😂
Your videos give me so much peace and calm 😌. Thank you ❤
Thanks and God Bless -from Ireland 🙂
Love from India... thank you for sharing parts of your simple yet beautiful life

Where we live (Portland, Oregon USA) the city shuts down when there's 1" of snow 🙃
Being alone is freedom and it's important to embrace it. Thx for sharing and love your videos.
how delightful!! absolutely all of it. thanks!
I recently discovered your videos and you have already given me much joy. I am older and live in the Pacific Northwest, but my roots go back to the state of Maine. My maternal grandmother immigrated from Finland in 1911 and I knew some of her relatives as a boy. I can almost taste that wonderful bread I know it pleases in many ways the taste and the aroma of the baking.
Please continue to share your great talent for video and storytelling with us. I hope you and your villagers can maintain the beautiful culture you have. Do not despair Spring is on the way just seems to be slower this year. Again, thank you for your great work.
C'est une vie magnifique oui j'adore beaucoup ❤
Love your channel Sanna❤Your lifestyle is a dream for many ❤
Such a lovely video Sanna..and your bread looks so wonderful..will Rover run away if he is off a line? Always wonder because he is chained and your sweet Sheltie is so content with you..I am a dog lover and so appreciate your including your pups in your work!
Thank you so much for again bringing me down, helping me calm my mind and accepting the being in between ❤
Welcome back we missed you
