If he was in a Cadillac dealership and anyone in there looking, he bought them a car. Complete strangers. It wasn't done for marketing,He loved his fans very much n if they wanted ba kiss ,they got it .They were very special to him because he always said " if it wasn't for my fans I wouldn't be here....
He always kissed women at concerts. His bodyguard's have said they never saw him deny a picture an autograph, he gave fans his jewelry. He really did love them. It also allowed him to give his voice a rest as he did this song about half way through shows.

This is 7 years before he died. He loved his fans, back then he did this to all the girls at the edge of the stages. I was three rows back in one concert and I was with my husband so I couldn't go up for a kiss. Darn. Do you know that men even bragged that their woman was kissed by Elvis? It was part of every concert. No body would do that now, nobody did it then but Elvis. thanks for doing this, he was a chick magnet, and I was one of the magnetized. He did it in every show love and kisses. I never got the kiss and I was so jealous of the ones that did lol. It was never marketing. It was always the love for his fans. He was very spontaneous. His musicians had to watch closely so they could respond to his every move.
When I was in the audience, I was jealous I was not in the front row. Kissing everybody was just part of the show. We loved it. Since the girls are tromping all over each other to get to him, I don’t think it should be a problem. He is not invading anyone space or giving unwanted attention.
Fans in the audience were thrilled to be kissed by Elvis; he knew it and obliged them. Notice the longer he was in the audience, the longer the line became. And in answer to your question, Elvis was a 'ladies man.' Looks, charm, charisma, that VOX, of course females were enthralled with him.
Can you imagine being in that Audience and being kissed by the King of Rock & Roll 💞 one can dream can't they 💕
Elvis on stage did just what he felt like doing. He was so sincere and natural and he loved his fans so much. This was the highlight of the show for his fans, as he would kiss them during this song at most shows in the early 70's. My 2 sisters and I got 10 kisses each during this song (10 different shows)and it remains one of our most precious memories. The ladies all loved Elvis and wanted him; the men just wanted to be him. It was actually an honor to guys if Elvis kissed your lady. He dedicated the last song at every show and concert to his fans, "Can't Help Falling in Love" and also sang " The Wonder of You" to us. He was a sweetheart. Thanks for this great Valentines Day treat!!❤❤❤

It was the 70’s baby! If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you’re with (a 70’s song). Having said that, I am convinced, that if any other performer had attempted this, it would have come off a bit creepy. In Elvis case, he had an ongoing love affair with his fans. When zealous fans tore the clothing off of him , he said, “I don’t mind..they are the ones who bought my clothes”. When fans scratched and bruised him, he said “They don’t mean to hurt me.” Much to the angst of his body guards, he continually made himself assessable. There were those moments however, when even he knew when to run. A very good example of that is during the close of his 1972 New York concert he sings in tribute to his fans I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You. It incredible what happens afterward. I highly recommend the watch.

Normal audience in the 70s. Totally acceptable then. People now have too many inhibitions & too little respect. Men considered it as a status symbol for Elvis to kiss your girl. I only saw Elvis in concert once. He kissed girls at every concert!

You are right things are different these days. Yes, he was extremely a ladies man. He had everything looks, sexuality, charisma. He loved his fans and they loved him. He was genuine and beautiful. Never will this be done today because of Covid but again only Elvis could pull this off.
Elvis did this kissing things at all his concerts. Usually it was the front row ladies but sometimes he just walked around and kiss the ladies.

He did a second walk through the audience at another performance & 2 rows of the chains & tabs of his Chain jumpsuit were ripped. There is a bit of film of people lifting him up. When a woman called up to him to come back down, he said, "Honey, I wouldn't go back down there again for love nor money."

When you are the sexiest person on the planet this is what they wanted, they even wanted his sweaty towels back that they would hand him. They EVEN fainted around him!!!!

On tour Elvis didn't dare go out into the audience. I had the chance to get a birthday kiss on the cheek at 11 but was too shy to go up wgen they announced it. I coukd kick myself now.
Times were different back then. People were more positive and happy and chilled, and open minded. Nowadays most people are too sensitive and would turn something like this around to make the artist look like some perve, or something. People nowadays need to take a chill pill and enjoy life without analyzing everything and making a big deal out of everything they see. I was born in the wrong era. I should have been born in the 1930's like Elvis, instead of 1976. 😂

I think this is awful, and it perpetuates the younger generation to see Elvis as a caricature. This song is such a beautiful ballad, done well in the 50s by Elvis on The Ed Sullivan Show. If Elvis fans want to appreciate Elvis, don’t show them his Vegas years, other than In the Ghetto and Bridge Over Troubled Water. I’ve been searching for a reaction of young Elvis doing this song, and this is what I keep finding.
