Brilliant! Two of you ! Thank you for doing this tutorial and great to see you back. Look forward to more updates from you....
There may be too much of me in this video already.
I remembered doing this trick in an Extreme Food Reviews video, figured I'd dust it off and show people how.
bro if u dont mind can u promote my channel plz
Hi Daniel, I'd like to ask if you can make a new version of this vid as I have a YT channel planning on duplicating my self as I don't actually know how to do this or if it's even possible on filmora 9. thank you for reading have a good one!
I need your help for some reason, those masks doesn't come up on my screen, do i need to get the upgraded version??? the $100 joint to get this??? i tried many times...its not working for me
You make it look so easy with those quick videos. Thanks!
This is an oldie but a goodie! I've got some updated information in the pinned comment if you're using a newer version of Filmora
3 years into filmora and i just discovered what the masks do
Haha!
And this is an older video done in Filmora 8. You should check out some of the newer videos on my channel
lol
sat for a year before i updated and started studying which is today. learned green screen and that was good enough for the time being
Yess really 😂😂
Same
Great stuff. I'm pumped to try this myself when I have a bit of time. Thanks for taking the time to make this Daniel.
You can do some REALLY cool stuff with some of the other masks as well. Make it look like you're thinking about something... stuff like that. Play around with it. It's actually pretty fun
@@Daniel_Batal How did you get the timing right when talking to yourself in the first five seconds?
I just rough scripted it and left what I thought were the proper pauses.
One pauses was a bit off so I sliced the footage and segmented one of my pauses and adjusted the speed of that pause so the next line came in at the right time.
Woah can't believe this was an old video that you tube recommended for me, amazing channel though
An oldie but a goodie!
DUDE, that's awesome!!!
Come on... be honest. It's a bit disturbing.
@@Daniel_Batal LOL....OK....just a touch🙀
Simply awesome bro, I liked it and subscribed your channel because of simplicity explanation.
This guy is so chill. Peace man.
Peace ☮️
haha great one...this one im gonna try to use for sure!
👊😀☮️
Is there a filter for splitting the screen in 4 parts, so I can show 4 versions of the subject?
For the moment, if you click up in the preview screen you can resize your individually tracks.
In the upcoming releases there will be a split screen option that makes it a little easier
simple things but magical.
Good job my Daniel Batal!
Daniel: How you doin'?
Me: Joey Tribianni?!
Ha! Did my New England accent sound like a "Friends" New York accent? It is similar sometimes
you're the best "Filmora teacher" so far.. keep it up i want to see what can we do with filmora 😁😁
More on the way!
Omgggg you are amazing! Continue doing this videos because you are soooo talented ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks! 😀
THX spot on what i was looking for
Your the best! You know everything about filmora! Thanks so much!
👊😎☮️
@@Daniel_Batal Any chance of an update to filmora x. Thanks Tony.
*wow wow wow wow I was looking for this for a long time Thank you, sir, so I do dance tutorial on youtube so you think is possible the way you did it on dance video*
Absolutely. You just have to make sure you have a strong middle point where you can mask one track over the other. It all has to do with lighting and the background
*Daniel* okay thank you so much sir
I just started editing about a month ago in Filmora and helpful videos like yours are helping me to improve insanely fast. Thanks!
Glad these are helpful!
dude, you help me so much with your tutorials! thank you so much!
My pleasure! 😊☮️
Daniel, you're SO awesome for making these incredibly exciting and accessible tutorials. It took a little bit of tweaking to figure this effect out in Filmora 9, but I did it!! I feel accomplished.. Thank you!
They did move a few features around in the new version. Glad you got it figured out!
The Intro and ending are perfect for this video!
The only drawback is that I look like an idiot talking to myself. (Who am I kidding, I do that all the time in real life anyway)
Thank you for sharing it man.....awesome..!!!
You’re very welcome 😊
Awesome Daniel, Looks Great...
😎☮️
You are a legend
Doing these editings
Keep it up
Soon I can make my own CZcams channel
Hey thanks! Will do!
This was way easier than I thought it was going to be. Thank you
You’re very welcome 😊
I'm in love with you're vids
Thanks for this one too my good man
I cant figure it on on the new version of filmora. The layout is different and not advanced settings when you right click.
When you're working on a piece of footage, in the upper left box of Filmora 9 you will see "Media, Audio, Titles, Transition, Effects..." Click on effects and in the drop-down menu, click on "Utility". You'll see "Image Mask" in the options (which you may need to allow to download from the Wondershare site if you haven't used it before.)
Drag that down onto the track ABOVE the one you are working on and then click on that Image Mask track.
It will allow you to choose image masks just like I did in Filmora 8 and it will apply it to the video track below it.
Let me know if I explained that well enough.
@@Daniel_Batal thank for the help. I will try when I get home. My first time using filmora. Love the videos bro.so helpful.
@@Daniel_Batal so when I click on the image make take and pick the mask I want all it does is make the part of the video I want gone all black, and then i can not see the other video because its all black. In your video it just automatically showed the two videos merged in to one great video.
Let me see if I can explain the easiest way to do this. Take two video tracks, bring them into your timeline. On the TOP track or the one that is higher on your timeline, drag down an "Image Mask" and lay it right onto the top track so that it merges with that track. It sort of just disappears into it.
Once you do that, double left click on that top video track and in the upper left hand window you should see the dialog for that video track (Video, Audio, Color, Motion) and it may actually open right up to the drop down from the "Video" option to "Video Effects". (if it doesn't, scroll down to it)
It's there that you'll be able to control the type or shape of mask you're using, how much feathering to use, the X, Y, width and height of the mask.
You should see all of this happening in your video preview screen if you do it this way.
@@Daniel_Batal thank you so much for taking the time to help me with this. I will try it when I get home. I will be sharing your channel with all my friends and family, your awesome. If you would like a good laugh please check out my channel. I think you will in joy it. Thsnk you.
Thanks for making this video, now I know how to edit this! But how do you actually record these shots? How do you time them perfectly so that the person on the left just waits until the person on the right completes their sentence?
Mostly by writing a script and practicing. You can also try to stay fairly still between lines and that will allow you to increase or decrease the speed of those “non-talking” sections to get the timing to sync better
I've used this technique in a video I found that I had to get the lighting just right as well or I could see the centre line when I masked the clips 🤔
Definitely. You can spot the seam in mine a bit. I didn't spend any time adjusting the the white balance to hide it.
But flooding myself with light from a few angles was the first step.
I used two big light boxes from both sides.
Wow! cool! BIG THANKS DANIEL!
👊😎☮️
daniel: i go... i go away
me: Thanos away? OH NO
Hahaha yikes indeed. Good tutorial tho. I tried it a while back - only problem I had at the time was bloomin change of light between takes.
Very true. I flooded myself with light from two soft-boxes just for that reason.. The hardest thing for me is the timing of what I'm saying. I try not to move to much between lines then I can just speed up or slow down the pauses of either Daniel in between to get the timing to work a little better.
Good thinking with the light. I might have it easier now I have my 'studio' set up. I thought you would be perfectly good at talking to yourself :D but good tip there, you nailed it in this video anyways
I talk to myself all the time, this just happens to be one of the rare times I actually answered as well.
and hopefully not something you do in public too often
Thanks Pam & Daniel for a super informative exchange there!! 💝
Downloaded Filmora a short while ago, this is very helpful!
Let me know how you like it! Or if there are any things that you'd like me to cover.

I'm new to this and often find tutorials either move too fast with mind numbing music and no voice over or just plain bad at doing what they set out to do.
So have a thumbs up and a new subscriber!
