I’m new to the channel and I’m glad you guys are safe. I also think it’s great you showed what Dubai looks like, even though your area seems fine, I think it speaks largely to how the media tends to dramatize events. And that’s not to some areas didn’t experience bad flooding, but that context (at least here in the states) isn’t given. Instead the news reports make it seem as if all of Dubai is underwater and devastated, which is probably similar to any reports in the UK, and why people have been calling you with their concerns.
But as someone who’s use to seeing how the media dramatizes flood reports from hurricanes in Florida, I can see how things are easily misconstrued. Even if you’re in a coastal city, it doesn’t mean that the entire coastal city is flooded.
