Might be useful for juking out enemies that lead their shots. Probably one of the most useful skills in Warframe PvP (THE CONCLAVE) is the ability to roll and by doing so instantly halt or fuck off sideways at your leisure.
the coin’s trajectory is based on momentum. if you try to simply dash in mid air and throw a coin, you’ll just fling the coin. even if you wait, at that point you’ll just be falling and might as well just rocket ride or whiplash something.
Wait... wasn't this a thing before? You can do this on "Goddamn the Sun" after the a core eject MRC boost at the beginning. That's how I've always skipped it. Core eject just cant keep up properly since it doesn't inherit momentum like the coin. Also you can look slightly behind you to boost with it. You can also do this on the megahealth in 2-1. I wonder what other shit I just think everybody knows but is niche to me. Lets see. -One hideous mass on 6-1 can be instakilled on spawn by a triple no-jump railcoin from the blue alt piercer. -Gabe's defensive beyblade is a projectile and you can kill them on a wall or use them with the sharp shooter under him to do big damage while they're out (you can also coin add to this.) (Edit nevermind they patch this out) -Both Maurice and Sentry will almost always hit your coin if you jump back and flip it looking straight down. -Maurice can be tricked into making superbombs with the rocket by waiting until he's about to shoot, stopping the rocket, and dashing just after he chose his target. -Street cleaners cant stop a frozen rocket from killing them since they walk into it after a smack, and you can use this to airbomb them with a frozen rocket ground slam. -Rockets spamming the ground or freeze, backpedal, fire explosions are a great way of getting homing projectiles off you. -Pretty much EVERY insurrectionist encounter can be cheesed by standing over a killpit. P-2 can easily do this by rocket riding left over the blood pit to get rid of one of them. -You can trivialize the P-2 hallway by door-fighting. Core eject red bomb the center of the virtues to enviro-kill them. Sharpshoot the face or just double parry fireballs and a regular blue alt revolver shot. Punch the sentry into the deathwall. Kill the Face at the end of the hallway on the second portion and he's envirokill the sentries. Focus on the Cerberus from the stairs where they cant really get you but you can just PB and rocket them with ease. -P-2 first room can be halfskipped to ferryman by using frozen rockets on the cerb locations and a core eject MRC. -Mindflayers and 4-3 secret boss can both be sharp shooter projectile destructed on the body like beyblade gabe. Mindflayer is near frame perfect though. -4-3 secret boss suicide run can be parried. (useless but neat) -A double pump green shotgun parry on a virtue will one shot. -Saw blades can be parried. -You can do some wackass thing I call the "Jesus Roomba" where you rocket jump from a slide and now you can directionally bounce on water with impunity and "crouch walk". Makes 5-2 a lot more bearable. You're slower but most homing projectiles cant get to you without hitting the floor. -From two green nailgun overcharges, V2-2 part two can be skipped with an overcharge jump, x4 altrevolver charge, and a normal railcannon shot. Conductor will damage him enough to kill. -You can stack coins pretty much infinitely by using the whiplash to juggle ones you throw straight up. Can make a 4 coin shot a 5-9 depending on the boss intro. You can also punch one then set off the chain with a red revolver to make a devastating sky laser. -You can double parry the sentry which sometimes just kills it right there. -Canceling heavy whiplash targets gives your slide a temporary boost when you land in whatever direction you chose. -Overpump can parry (Don't think this is just a me thing, but I have not seen anyone else do this.) -You don't need to jump off a rocket ride, slam also will work. -You can parry the Screwdriver from anywhere on the body and it will always go to where you're pointing. You don't need to hit the thing directly. Now for something more infuriating: every level except the intro level you spawn just left of perfect center.
@@Zanophane_Gaming ok sorry but actually rocket jumps (without coins) actually doesnt deal damage to you at all, only when you shoot it at the coins does it damage you (but you travel more further)
you could also just use rocket riding or ultraboosting though. this might be useful if you already used your rocket ride charge and malicious railcannon and still need another boost, with enough health to do this once or twice, but no stamina, and not enough health to do an overcharge, which would give you more distance...actually, im not sure what this is good for.

Still makes sense within the lore too. The rockets only explode when in contact with blood, and the coins are made of iron from the blood of V1’s kills

Perhaps Maurice, by throwing the coin beside it's head, you canon ball yourself and regain health to recover the amount you lost due to the explosion. you can also slam jump, whiplash the ground and then fire a rocket shortly after. it pulls in the exploded rocket, causing the shockwave to send you higher.
