    I ran a 2015 ND 1.5 for six years and 135,000 kms. Best car I've ever had. 100% fault free. Two criticisms only - washer bottle was too small and a digital speedo would have been preferable to the gear indicator. I have a new 2.0 on order for Jan 25 delivery. That says it all really.

    Finally, after literally 10 years - someone on CZcams decided to check out the passenger seat room on an ND. Doing the Lord's work right here for people who want an ND, but aren't sure if it fits their use case. Thanks Que.
    I've always wondered about how comfortably any passengers would fit once I started noticing that massive transmission "bunion" growing into the right footwell.

    I don’t own a miata but hopefully ND2 will be my next car soon.
    For auto climate: once you feel it’s as cold as you want and it’s still blowing hard, turn the temp dial up slowly until the fan speed is the lowest (keep an eye on the AC indicator still being on, if it’s off you’re too high). Once the fan speed is at minimum and AC is still showing on, that is now your new “favourite” temperature. Keep it there and the fan speed will slow down once it gets there like how you want it to be.

    Nice car,hope you enjoy it 4 many years. Mine is a 2023 GT RF in platinum quarts. My moods are as follows... Michelin PS5 tires (much quieter & better performance) Goodwin Racing muffler (better sound & a 8hp increase to the wheels) Verus sound tube delete and a flyin miata door bushings which adds a little increase in structural rigidity.Although MX-5 s

    I have a 2024 ND3 Miata Club and i absolutely love it! I agree on the limited color palette and they need to offer some more bold fun colors for such a fun car! I am a white car fan and chose the Snowflake pearl and I think it looks great with the black accents, like the mirror caps, wheels and the little spoiler!
    I haven’t experienced any issues with my key fob and just wish it was smaller! I am 6’ 175lbs and I fit perfectly in the Miata and my oldlady is petite so she has no issues with the hump from the catalytic converter.
    My car doesn’t have the auto climate control, so I don’t have the issue with the fan speed and I am really impressed with how well the AC actually performs in the very hot and humid North Carolina weather we’re experiencing right now!
    I feel sorry for the larger folks that aren’t able to fit in the Miata, it would be sad to not be able to enjoy such an amazing experience!

  • @Eric-zv7ky

    Nice videos Que. I’ve got a 2022 manual gt soft top nd2 and love it. The subwoofer is actually at the end of the passenger floor compartment under your feet at the firewall. That actually takes away about 4 to 5 inches of legroom for the passenger…luckily it doesn’t bother my wife. There is a foam piece that they put in place on the lower trims without the subwoofer to take up that space, so they don’t even gain back the legroom for the loss of the subwoofer. The side hump as mentioned previously is the cat converter and on a long ride the passenger can feel it get warm.
    The auto setting on the vents will choose where to direct the air supposedly. The auto fan speed will lower once you’re going if it gets cold in the car and you turn the temp dial.

  • @PaulHojda
    @PaulHojda Před 2 měsíci +1

    The hump on the floor on the passanger side is one of the catalytic converters. The subwoofer is by the feet of the passenger/firewall, under the carpet., which is why theres less legroom than on the drivers side

    Can't deny that soul red is a pretty color, but I'm not a fan of red cars, just not my style. I prefer to stay under the radar with more understated colors. People are sleepin on machine gray metallic. It has the same level of depth as soul red, but it's more understated and sophisticated, in my opinion.

    The Zerc-Sand is my favorite color. I call it Coffee. Nice car man, good video, good job, good honesty. About the hair, no bun for me, however, what about track days and helmets. Yep, something to consider if you're 5'11" or more. Hey, about your AUTO climate control? I now drive a new Toyota SUV, and when it's on AUTO in the summer it never slows down that fan-speed either. So don't feel bad. I just set the temperature to 73, fan-speed at 2 or 3 from the lowest and roll that way. I hate having a high-speed fan intruding in my thoughts or having a damn tornado inside my car! The noise level due to your soft top is going to happen. All convertibles kind of do that noise deal. Not much you can do about it, except to buy an RF version. I owned a 1995 L-Edition and a 2001 Sport edition, both were loud and those two cars didn't have the roofs lined either. However, not to the extreme of wanting to get rid of the car due to the road noise. NO WAY!
    I know you love your car. I like it also. You got a damn nice vehicle, take care of it! Change the oil every 5K and you're set. Be safe. GOOD JOB!

    Chances are that the reason your key fob doesn't always work is its battery life is getting low. I'd be curious to see whether your second key fob has the same issue. I'd bet it doesn't. Either way, replacing the battery will likely solve that issue.
    Btw, the RF's hard top is barely any quieter than the GT's soft top with the tops up. It's only a decibel or two quieter on the highway. Barely a difference. With the tops down, however, there is a HUGE difference, and it favors the soft top. The retracted RF targa top creates a ton of loud turbulence behind your left ear, as the wind swirls around in that cavernous piece of hollowed-out plastic. The soft top doesn't do that. It's just smooth, clean air with the soft top down.

    • @QueTheChaotic
      @QueTheChaotic  Před 2 měsíci

      That's barely noticeable with a couple decibels. I did a video comparing the RF and my car and the RF was so loud with the top down. The wind buffeting sucked

    • @vlj1133
      @vlj1133 Před 2 měsíci

      @@QueTheChaotic Yes, the RF’s noisy wind buffeting with the targa top down really is annoying. Also, top down in the RF doesn’t give you the real Miata experience. The Miata is an homage to the classic British roadsters, which were true convertibles, not targa tops with massive blind spots and crazy wind buffeting.

      @@QueTheChaotic - Yep I thought so. I’ve seen your previous videos on a Mustang GT350? Or maybe a Challenger? Huge difference from this little toy. The Miata is lots of fun to driive. It’s so unique! Lightweight, amazing handling and a convertible experience. The manual is the best unless you drive a Porsche which costs several x more.

    Something to keep in mind: If you get rear-ended, that roll hoop is an immovable object.
    I'm 6'5", and I've found two positions where I can drive this car. One of them, the headrest is touching the roll hoop, and the other is less comfortable, but leaves about 2" between.
    Try your best to figure a way out to not have the back of the chair rest against the roll hoop (stops the annoying squeaking from rubbing too). Unless you're wearing a helmet, that hoop will wreck your head.

    • @flyfishaholic
