Well that has put the cat amongst the pigeons, I feel that part work companies need to justify these build and not take us for granted has to be value for money first and foremost 😮
I'm proud of the sensibility in these comments and great vid as always wayne
I like just getting each pack as it can build of the previous pack, that way we’re not constantly keeping different parts put away for later use with the possibility of loosing important pieces
I've learned that, with partworks, there's often stage after stage of tedium that leads to an amazing stage of shock and awe.
Case in point, the Enterprise-D build. How many stages were basically put windows and lights into a panel, then add another part to the frame? I had TONS of loose panels for months. Then you got that stage where the frame is finished and they say "let's take all those panels and put them onto the frame". Then you see all that work you did for months all together, and it blows your mind.
Those are the moments in partworks that make it worth every penny you spend.
I have to agree with you wayne, I am at the same stage with the tumbler build and my face said it all as did yours, I would rather have had more to do even if it meant paying a little more for each pack, take care mate, Dave.
Nice build Wayne
At the end of the day, it's all about the process of getting to the end product for me. There are so many stages that are so difficult and make me pull my hair out, it's kind of refreshing to counterbalance that with things that are easy. I have multiple partworks on the go right now so I try and balance each out where if I have a really difficult stage on one model I can do something easy on the next one. In the end, I love this Batmobile and having a 1:8 scale replica of it in my collection will make it all worth it
Cool build thanks Lee
For me personally. I would look at it in one of 3 ways. 1 for people who just want to build a model based on memories. 2 for folk who like to build models. 3 absolutely passion for modellers and the enthusiasm they get from building models.
I myself love my enterprise d, and its just a dream to build it in my own time. I'm not bothered if a pack is short or long, just as long as I'm happy with the end result.
I used to work at Shaap in Detroit, Michigan. I remember one time having to do Quality Assurance on the trucks coming in and it was the wire harnesses. Would you believe a car comes in ten boxes! To me the way they laid out these boxes is great. It makes sense to me.
If I was releasing partworks models like this I wouldn't have any builds go on longer than 52 weeks and would provide all the electrics in one or two issues to be fitted as a complete loom where possible. This way you will have a finished model after a year and plenty to do in most issues so you don't feel ripped off.
All I can say is I still hope this makes it to the US
Hi Wayne. Thank you for really enjoyable content. I get to see what i would like to do, but can't. So I am enjoying model making vicariously. Please continue providing much appreciated content.
I fully agree Wayne that could of all been in one pack. What I wish they would do is to stay in the one area of the model. So instead of stage being build a wheel, then a stage build a seat. Stay in that area of the wheel. Build it out from there. It would save us having parts left all over the place
I agree with you Wayne, would be nice to build something else along side the electronics.
The Titanics are next to each other!
Sounds like you’ve talked to Liam from Agora or someone similar, and they’ve asked you that very question, ‘How would you split them up’. Not an easy job I guess and can create lopsidedness with some packs but I understand that. Love ya Wayne
We expect some fiddly parts when putting the details on. we also know there will be parts that you need to struggle to put the screws in, what I don't like is having loads of parts that are not going onto the car for a few issues. it means storing them safely, luckily I don't have kids as They could make it more difficult to find somewhere safe.
I’m building R2 right now and I think I want something interesting each month - If I get a delivery of nothing but ‘put this to one side for later’ it’s frustrating. The big panels give you a sense of progression. R2’s dome was a big milestone
There’s probably also a commercial factor of not shipping expensive stuff too early in case they cancel.
I think with Hachette, this is a 2-year build, which would be about 4 Packs / month, (or 6 weeks) keeping the price around $90 with shipping. 2-years for me is a year too long for any build. After the first year I get anxious to be done with it, plus you get too many Packs with hardly anything to do, and then you question the cost, which is what I'm going through with the Dodge Charger, and probably will with the DeLorean. If it was me, I would reduce the build to 12 months, increasing the number of Packs to around 7 or 8/month, which would increase the monthly cost to probably what Agora Models would charge. $140/month. The second thing I would do is only send parts that are going to be used, and not have to keep them "in a safe place" until their really needed 4, 5, or 12 months down the line. With this build you wait 6 weeks, and when it finally arrives, you complete the 4 or 5 Stages in 10 minutes! Really? That's what you paid $90 for? To make a Lazy Susan and connect wires to make them longer? (Which in-of-itself makes no sense. Just make the wires the correct length they need to be.) I would also construct the model to where once the part is installed, it stays installed. Okay, off my soap box. (You did ask).
These issues cou,d easy been condensed into two, at a push into 3.
Although i am buying my issues every 4 or 5 weeks direct from hacette store, i can see that these issues will sit to one side untill we will nrealky need.
I hope a power mod will be released soon as 8 aaa batteries is a killer
I'm building Knight Rider gave up on Enterprise D, what really annoys me though is the price these things are and I still need to buy 3rd party upgrades to make the model look accurate
One point not mentioned in the comments yet is retaining parts between issues. That's a pain in the proverbial as you can guarantee that when the part is required you can't find it, or storing them needlessly takes up space. I'd rather have stages that use /all/ the parts supplied* /at the time/ than a stage that has nothing to do but half a dozen parts that need to be retained for later stages. Supplying parts of course means they can charge for the stage, then I can pretty much guarantee some modellers will end up paying /twice/ as they will lose / break parts between receiving them and their use.
Also if it's an electrical or moving part that's broken the modeller won't find out until it's fitted and/or tested. WRT electrical components I'd like to see a tester in the first stage or at least before the first electrical component.. then you can test each one as you progress.
* OK except vehicle body parts.

All fun now, in due time it will drive you "BAT"-ty! 😂

If they make the original batmobile, I will buy it.😂
I feel that they need to justify, as some parts are less and some require more work as you see connecting a few cables is not really model building in my eyes 😮 and the price we pay for each stage doesn't warrant the cost
Bearing in mind the Batmobile Tumbler is the final weekly collection from the magazine publishers. Forra start the model manufacturers need to include more metal/less plastic parts of that model in order to balance it out. Secondly they seriously need to get rid of this online only£95 as that's complete bollocks. Because the Weekly Collectors don't getta look in+their getting ripped off because it's online only hardly fair is it 😡🤬👎
just imagine if they gave all of the electrics for the Enterprise in one stage..
do they even explain what the lazy susan is for? Is that how the Tumbler makes tight turns?
I have to admire the restraint you show in not making the obvious "World of Wayne"/ "Bruce Wayne" puns
All I'm saying is that you have never seen me and Batman in the same room.
I don't mind how they did this pack. The important thing, to me anyway, is seeing progress and actually getting to do something per stage even if it's something as simple as a single step of connecting two wires. It bothers me more when a stage is just "here's a part, put it aside, and that's it".
I agree that the electrics should all be done at one time to help with confusion and/or potential problems in trying to sort through them all when they are attached to the vehicle. That being said, those 4 stages could have actually been done in 1 stage in my opinion. There wasn't much to do in any of them and not all of them are attached to the circuit board or battery box yet. It wouldn't surprise me if there were more electrics in the next pack. Also, those "Lazy Susan" stages really should have been 1 stage. Finally, I like the idea of doing whole sections of the vehicle (or whatever you're building) instead of going all over the place with it. I've seen you do 2 tires of a vehicle and then the last 2 aren't done for a dozen stages (or more). Makes no sense to me.
I would rather have all the model built first then the fafff last !!! Why can't they do more like Agora and do packs over a year much quicker ??!! Great vid 💞💞🇦🇺👍🐕🍺
Hence why scale model handbuilt resin kit builds are better/cheaper. As you get it all once with aone off payment option +Voodoo FX also make/sell som of the LED lights/electronics for som of those resin kits as well
With all your experience, what do feel was the best pieced out kit you have worked on so far and if possible why?
The Falcon was wear it all started for me and seeing it come together thebwaynit did it was an amazing experience building it. You can see my emotion in the last video of the series
I've said it before in many videos of yours but the way some of the packs come for the builds don't make sense to me.
out of the 4 kits iam doing i am missing 1 issue out of each 1 so there all on hold
😮
I think it's easy to feel short-changed sometimes, but if you save up a few stages and do them in one go then shouldn't be too bad.
I have a general question about screws though. Are screws the same size across all builds, so are AP, BP, AM screws from say the DeLorean build the same as the screws from the Ghostbusters Ecto-1?
Anyone working on a power mod for this?
Any news on the next issue?
Nope. They are coming every 6 weeks
Where did you get the screwdriver?
in my Amazon store. Link in the video description :D
❤❤😊😍🤩🤗👍💯⭐🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇
How about less issues with more parts per issues.
Not exactly £78 worth either in time or materials. At least we should be able to test the electronics as in my experience they are the faulty items in any partworks. Six weeks between packs is also a pain. I’m saving my packs up for a bing build where I can properly test sub assemblies first. It’s a pity as it’s an unusual kit. Great quality video though Wayne.
How many batteries ????
I swear to god the bigger that that these builds are the more than they can use it an exscuse for people to bulk buy batteries. They should skip the battery packs and include either ajackplug port or amicro USB B connector instead
It doesnt look like the wires go all the way in
Personally, I'd rather have something I can do each pack per month... as being left with sod all to do just feels like you're being short changed, even if you're doing at a later date.
The whole point to these kits is to feel involved, so having nothing to do, leaves you feeling a bit left out
To be honest i hate when in first issue to get a part that you dont need till issue 99 ? So half time you need to re order the that part coz you lost it. I would rather have the issue work out right like one issue all the tires and there parts then the base with wires so you can put all whells one at once and then wires and wire tidey as you go
I think they do that in the introductory issue as one of the most reconizable part of the model to help draw in new model makers
Think it's a bit of a rip off at min Wayne, can imagine they ll just be a full shell for the tumbler ways it's going
It would be nice if the parts came in a logical order. I hate getting parts later in the build that would have been easier to install if the parts came earlier in the build.
For me, this whole build has lacked any real involvement so far. Been spoilt by starting off Partworks with Ecto-1 & Bismarck - both really involving builds. Will Enjoy the Tumbler more as a finished item than a challenge - but who knows - there could be plenty of fun yet to come on this build.
I'd rather there be less stages rather than feel hard done by spending £10.99 on a stage that has next to nothing to do. Just pay £11.99 per stage (or whatever it works out to for the company to make what they want to make) for less stages.
Stages 29-34 could easily just been one stage!
Mmm
Im just going to say it
What a rip off !
Hachette are doing no one any favours in enhancing these partworks models
The Hachette spitfire really put me off doing anymore considering the cost and what you get. It just appears they are charging far far to much and you can’t justify a few wires connected and the price you just paid, it’s just nothing more than profiteering
I had considered the UBoat, and with it having been released in Germany you can see it’s not as bad as the Spitfire turned out, but I just can’t justify the number of issues, the years to built and the cost per issue for parts that cost pence.
I don't build models but I have been enjoying watching you for about a year now. This video exemplifies one of the things I find annoying about some of your builds. Personally, I feel that the manufacturers are using schemes like this just to bilk the people who buy their models out of more money. I assume all the stages cost the same amount, so more stages equals more money for the entire build. Too much of the time I see BS stages where all you do is take out the parts, look at them, and move on to the next stage. That's just stupid and a waste of builders time. Anyway, just my opininon, it's the manufacturers trying to get more money for their models by making them longer to build......
It's also abit harsh than CZcamsrs get their kits/packs far earlier than som of us non youtubers. As that seems to be faverouratisum on the model manufacturers side because their ayoutuber
Sorry Wayne, terrible build.
No Titanic/1:8scale Delorean are the worst builds+the Ferrari F40
@@bedfordshiremodeller4491agreed, having to saw the Delorean subframe in half wasn't in the build brief😂😅
