Never gets old… never.
This is def. hands down THE best demo song on Amiga demo scene.
no cream of the earth is better
Complication is better imo
"hyperbased"
thats about right.
Thank you
You made me spend 4 months worth of my salary on a computer that is twice as old as I am, because I was getting
heart aches every night from the strong feelings that the demoscene gave me.
Best Amiga tune ever, period.
Classic 💯
One of my favorite all time Amiga tunes, inspired me in many ways when I was writing on the Amiga back in the day.
The greatest tune I ever heard in the Commodore scene.
THIS is why the Amiga was one of the greatest!!!
What is also incredible in this wonderful music is the fact that the Amiga 500 was limited to 4 voices, 2 on the left 2 on the right (not real stereo). There were voices only, not tracks, which meant only 4 samples could be played at the same time, so a simple 3 notes chord just left one voice free. Therefore musicians prerecorded necessary chords in several samples to save voices, but the Amiga ram was very little, so this music is not only artistically a jewel, it is also technically amazing :-)
Amiga, always had that good feeling about it - can't seem to replicate it now - I was amazed at that machine, the hardware, the sound, everything about it
A classic, timeless.
This really is a very big song, only amiga make it possible..........yeaaah
Hm, maybe at the time of the release you're right, but programs like Impulse Tracker have the same power and they can use even more channels. If you watch the second channel you'll recognize that there were used sampled melodies so with just four channels and no sampled melody this song couldn't even be made, just my opinion.
Impulse has more channels. Talented composers did great songs with this tool... but, only Amiga sounds like Amiga... lol
@@KriscrossnewsDe Nothing sounds like what Paula produces. Nothing. Same with SID on C64 etc... embrace it :)
@@KriscrossnewsDe Nope, no sample melody, if you see the command A-F on the second channel as you say, thats a "Trance gate" sort of, making the sound stutter
@@dreamix2007 Yep, thanks for the hint, I didn't recognize the A-F command at the first sight. I watched it again and yes, there are no sampled melodies. Sorry for my misguess.
my favorite Amiga demo tune from one of the best Amiga demos, sounds as good now as it did when it fist came out.
The first segment sounds almost identical to Stardust Memories by Jester. According to the minimal sources I can find, Stardust Memories came after. I like what Jester did with the samples found here, but it's cool to see the original inspiration for one of my favorite tracks. I never heard Hyperbased before but I love how many different parts there are.
I'd say that style was in vogue in general in the mid to late 80s, they've probably both inspired by what Jean-Michel Jarre were doing at the time.
one of the best Amiga tunes ever ..
Commodore Amiga: much ahead of its time
PURE LOVE FOR THIS SONG!
I've heard it back in the day and have seen the demo... I found it again and I'm listening to it everyday. This music makes me happy, my head is moving. :) Fat, FAT sound! My favourite moment is when that funky bassline comes at 4:06.

one of the best song in amiga
One of the best amiga soundtrack, maybe one of the best
Really pleasant to listen such a groovey, punchy, energetic Music!! Simple but great!!
Great tune! Great demo! Happy memories!
Maravilloso tema del Amiga. Los recuerdos de agolpan en mi mente. TNKS!!!!!!!! ;-)
Awesome tune. It shows off the talent of the Amiga users and the power of the computer itself. And consider that this module wouldn't even take up a quarter of a 880k floppy too... brilliant.
Once being part of that scene as a music artist myself, i say with all respect: this is the best of all mods
Memories from 1991 :)
I only had to hear this once for it to shoot straight to the top of my favourite retro tunes.
still timeless
Anyamar666 when people gave heart and passion to music. Nowadays all most are junk
Try play this video with DolbyAtmos and good headphones... what a journey!! Melt my brain! wow!!
over 30 years old 👀timeless
Terriffic song - I first listened to this on my Archimedes in 1991 or so - never gets old - magical composition. Thank you Jimmy Fredriksson and Robert Österbergh.... I hope you are both well and happy wherever you are.
3:27 is genius btw :)

Amigaaaaa 500 . my first love
Den här gick varm på Amigan på Hexagon, datorklubben på "Teknis" (gymnasiet Rudbecksskolan) i Örebro då det begav sig, 1991. Den här och Lemmings :)
Det var tider det :)
This brings back memories
Hyperbased and MODpilled
One of the best music tracks ever made on the Amiga.
Oh yeah! One of the best demo tunes for the Amiga. Thanks m8.
This reminds me of the same music style used in Hotline Miami!! I LOVE IT
This is my favorite PorTracker track, it is so mindblowing, it has something in its tune I like so much.
lol! da war ich so 12. ^^ wie ich den track gefeiert hab, damals u heute! :D
Best song ever on amiga
still listening in 2024
Modern Vintage Gamer sent me here.
i know he used the same notes in the background, but i wonder if he's related somehow to this song and decided to do a homage
This is what AMP (Amiga Music Preservation) states: Robert Österbergh (ex. Robert Ling).
Wish I had a DeLorean :)
Brilliant, i use to have this program, thanks for posting.
music trackers are the best invention since sliced bread
Fantastic music!
Italo Disco/Koto vibes!!
. .. . . .. o o o oo OOO OMG!!!!🤩😍
best Amiga toon ever?
Awesome 90s music :D.
Amiga was ahead of its time IF ONLY THEY WOULD OF PUT MORE FUND IN TO IT ASTAY OF THER BACK Pockets
great mod
big tune !
it sounds like italo disco track
This style was coined "Doskpop" back in the day (by Lizardking IIRC). It's basically Synthpop + Italo-Disco - vocals and lots of Amiga-Paula love.
prześladują mnie demony przeszłości
i remember this program
It is ProTracker on the Amiga.
Man, this sounds super similar to the "Clouds" track from the Iridion 3D ost... You know, the 2001ish GBA game?... Wikipedia says they are influenced by the C64, so... Yeah, maybe they heard this at some point?...
Shin’en was formed by former members of the demogroup Abyss. There’s no doubt they would have heard this and other demo compositions over the years.
I used Cubic in DOS :) remember this one...
I had this on my DOS machine, so I had to name it HYPERBAS.MOD
Look for the babygang demo on c64 : Hexagone 2 (first part by Ludwig, music by ironcat)
favorite ever only amiga made it possible ;)
The Amiga has a very unique soundfont, I love it
Maybe the Amiga culture? The Amiga itself had no sounds built in at all. Software supplied them all.
@@jsrodman Yeah, there was a "standard" set of samples which got used a lot more than others, which helped define the "sound" of the Amiga. In particular Karsten Obarski's sample disks, many of which were apparently samples of a Yamaha DX21. I think the iconic "slap bass" sample used in many Amiga modules came from there.
Olov Stener: Wrong, Avicii was born in 1989, and this song was made in somewhere in 1990-1991. :P
Thank you based amiga
my god
👍💯🎧
Как первые компы писали музыку? Прикольно
I don't know why but it seems that the two most well known Commodore machines were just ahead of their time when it comes to sound production. The Commodore 64 had the SID which while it only had 3 voices could do some amazing things that it took people years to figure out. Atari's POKEY was probably the closest competitor at the time.
Then comes the Amiga and just blew everybody away. Four channels each with 16 voices. And probably again, it took time until people really started knowing about and exploiting the full potential of the PAULA chip. Was it 1988 that Carsten Obarski's tracker program was released? I think it was 1988. I keep wondering whether the Amiga was how popular it was despite being a Commodore product considering how poorly managed the company was a lot of the time. Imagine what the company would have been like if run properly. I guess IBM clones would still have meant that the Amiga would have left the market but surely the company would have lasted longer? Maybe even have taken part in the 3D graphics revolution with the Hombre graphics adapter that I remember reading about a while back. Who knows?

Try to find this great remix:
WAYFINDER_firefox & tip - hyperbased (wayfinder's enigmatic remix)
After some digging, a 192kbps LAME encoded mp3 can be found from this release www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=51219
Yes, that´s it !
why is embedding disabled =\
The floppy diskmag NoCover sent me here - one of the tuned used in the background and I loved that mag that came with the apc&tcp CDs as an collection www.apc-tcp.de/index-en.php?page=history

Tips real name is Robert Ling not Robert Oterbergh
software name pls?
Насколько знаю,
Amiga ProTracker
Considering it says ProTracker....
_Doskpop is best pop_
4:06 :3
You are incorrect. Each pattern takes around 1024 bytes (4bytes x 64rows x 4channels) - and using your suggested method doesn't allow you to use breaks.

excellent remix...better than original!
ZeeraptorX what original?
