@@Gino565 It simply means Kobe was a true fan of the game and cared about Football beyond any business interest. Not that is bad to ''try and sell your shoes'', but you definitely win football fan's respect if you show love for the game. As you may already know Kobe grew in Italy and was always a AC Milan fan, he was good friends with Ronaldinho also.
Emiliano Sala (From Argentina, not Brazil) played for Nantes in France. He boarded a plane to wales where he was going to sign for Cardiff and it crashed on its way across the channel

I was at Arsene Wenger’s last ever Arsenal game as a manager (13th May 2018) and everyone one was applauding because he is a football legend, one of the best atmosphere’s because it was Wenger’s last ever game, and it was the last home game if the season and Huddersfield (my team) had survived in the prem, it was an emotional day for me because it woulda been my grandads birthday and he was my idol and i adored him.

But you should check out some of kobes videos where hes with football players like neymar and hes talking about his love for the sport, another former star in the NBA that loves football is steve nash, pretty sure he was asked in an interview if he could pick a sport wqhich one hed play and he said football. I like how much respect there is with athletes, i hate when i see "oh youi like soccer youre a pussy they dont even have contact or whatever, im a man i like real football" lol you hear that a lot from americans, but pro athletes dont think like that or even just athletes as a whole.

Some could argue he stayed a bit too long and tainted his legacy but he was an incredible manager and coach for the Arsenal, they played exceptional football under him. They were in a few of the tiki-taka videos.
