For crying out loud people. The man is 51. I don't know many 51 year olds that look like a 35yr old roman general! Plus, he's filming The Nice Guys with Ryan Gosling. Russell goes the extra mile to fit the characters he's playing..method acting I think it's called. Also will be starring in a movie with Amanda Seyfried called Fathers and Daughters where he appears to be chubby too. He seems comfortable in his skin either way which I find attractive actually.

Nobody looks beyond the cover anymore. He's most likely adopted the accent and the new weight for a role. He's an actor. Check out Christian Bale or Tom Hanks over the years. Bale gained heavily for American Hustle, lost for the furnace, bulked up for Batman among a few. Hanks, for Cast Away they filmed the first half and then waited 6 months or so for Hanks to lose EVERYTHING and look like he did. It's pure dedication.
