Heather's voice isa much better match for his range...but they sound good together
I agree that her voice complements his, but I personally think she was getting a little to showy and overpowering for the gentle duet the song calls for. I don't like my when was getting crazy and sings over the person they are singing with. I may just be me, but my brain findings it too much confusion for me to enjoy fully.

If Mary J just toned it down maybe 10% I think the song would be perfect but it is still very very good
