- China Beach is one of those unique routes that possess character; ask any of its ascenders and they'll probably tell you how memorable and meaningful it was for them to climb it.
Nina Wiliams had her eyes set on it since she was a child. As a New Englander, she found herself staring at China Beach every time she'd be climbing at Waimea (Rumney, NH) and now two decades later, she came back to put up the first female ascent of this king line: CHINA BEACH 5.14B/8C

The level of psych I experienced from watching this is unreal. A phenomenal effort from Nina, World Class Rock, and an incredible video production. Loved the pacing and editing of this one. Watching Nina climb reminds me how joyful this sport can be. Five stars all around.
The Part from 16:00 till 16:45 is maybe the best filming of a sequence i have ever seen (And i watched a LOT of climbing videos) combined with the perfect sound/Edit for this Part ... CRAZY GOOD

Awesome. I remember watching the Dave Graham segment back in the days and thinking, wow, this cliff is one of a kind. Gorgeous filming and editing, too.
Even better in person. When I used to climb and walk under there it never got old to just look up at the huge wave of rock. I am just glad I was able to send the easiest but namesake climb Waimea

@@skip1860 nope it's an amplifying feedback loop. Watching strong climbers do their thing just helps build the mental model of what's possible and what I should strive to do. In this video you can clearly see how much fun being able to work on an extremely challenging project is. I may never reach that level ( most of us won't ) but mentally we can see it and that helps build motivation to keep working hard.
