If you're here, it means you've taken the time to explore, and I appreciate that. You can watch the TV mini-series 'Band of Brothers' (2001) through the link in my bio.
I adore this scene.
That Englishman gives the real feel of England cir. 1940’s
DO TELL
You were there, yeah?
Exactly💪
😂 it's no different from today.
And now you're infested with packies who prey on your children 😂
Damien Lewis absolutely nails an American accent.
Had no clue he was British. He did a great job. He didn’t rely on any regional accents.
I saw a clip of him acting in another show and to me he is Captain Winters and no one else lol
He does. I never knew he was English. Brilliant scene here.
He is from Brooklyn. Everyone from Brooklyn can do accents.
@@JoeTaylor-rf1wp St. John's Wood in London
American accent fromwhuch country??? Bolivia,Argentina,USA,Ecuador,Peru,El Salvador,,,,?
Can’t beat a tweed suit. Pure class.
Indeed.

Quite Right!
Until it's fkn hot as fk and humid day, you ripe yourself out of it as if you're turning into the Hulk.
@@20Kilogramthat’s not a problem we suffer with old boy.😂😂
"As a matter of fact, yes" Directed at sobel is such a great line, love the honesty
Isn't that Dick?
Its a training exercise so its the "enemy" lol
As I understand it, the interactions between the British civilians and American GIs were generally positive. They were somewhat annoyed by our activity, but they understood the need to prepare for the coming offensive.
Portrayed well here:
You can see the dismay due to the American troops moving around, but also see that none of it is directed at the troops
Check out Heachem Hall. Family estate destroyed by GIs smoking in a historical house
And now london is %35 British
Who's the real enemy?
The English women got on really well with the yanks apparently,
@@gerrygirvan8868 in the citys there was some fratenising. Maniky soilders on leave though not ones training.
the English gentleman was probably a veteran of the first world war. so its not his first experience running into Americans.
The First World War was only about 25 years earlier, he’s too old to have fought in it.
@@pete9328probably boxer rebellion
@@pete9328probably the napoleonic wars
@@KeysAndDoorss probably the Roman invasion of Britain
@pete9328 He's only in his 60s here .
People aged a lot quicker back then . It's also telling he mentions the incapable captain as the " enemy "
He knows bad officers get men killed
Old guy have done this training sequence , in another time , another war .. bitter sweet dry humour .. very British and very American ..
Probably not, as the British used a wave offensive in ww1 and early parts of ww2, the small unit tactics is an American and late British tactic, so if the older gentleman was a veteran he'd used to an entirely different training.
You just know that old boy was standing in a muddy trench 30 years before, and having the same conversation.
A very poetic description.❤️
This scene is classic. True English man slightly bothered by yank war games and yet still maintains his integrity and his anglophile traditions with not a care in the world. "WW2...REALLY!?.
Every actor in this series is pure gold
I believe the older gentleman was an actual war hero.
Nah he’s not, his names James Greene he’s an actor from Northern Ireland
@@Elwe988the character he portrays might be.
Over thinking donut
@@ERRATAS0707 Yeah you’re right, I probably interpreted it wrong my bad!
I laughed when he said, " As a matter of fact, 'YES", knowing the whole platoon couldn't stand Sobel.😅
I wasted about two weeks watching this series. And then started all over again. 😅
I've seen band of brothers 3 times and I could watch again
Band of Brothers Excellent! Emotional❤
One of my favourite scenes in Band of Brothers.
There’s a connection between these two men.
That bike has Sturmey Archer 3 speed rear hub gear with a gear selector on the cross-bar ( top tube as its called these days.)
I just cant take the movie seriously with Ross. And that scream lmfao 😂😂😂
They are much better capturing our accent than we theirs.
As a professional actor, I generally agree. There are a few of us who are quite good, but overall, no.
Love this show. Watched so many times. Know a gentlemen that went thru that whole time period. Think lots of him. Bulge hits me hard every time. All he ever said was cold as hell.
What a classic scene 😂😂is that the enemy🤣 Lewis played the part to a tee 🫡
First time I saw Saving Private Ryan, the first 30 minutes was indeed the most realistic combat footage I had ever seen ... until I saw Band of Brothers. The carnage is virtually constant for well over three hours. I was in the Marines but I was not 'infantry'. The Viet-vets who were in combat told me their first adjustment was to accept that they were ALREADY dead and not to worry about it. If you lived, you smiled and said, "I'll be damned. Look at that. I LIVED."
🍺🍺🍺
Such a great movie/series. I am blessed to own it and watch it often
Back when England was England shame it’s all gone now eh
Agreed and American soldiers were men
This is one of the best war motion picture scenes I have ever seen . I love it !
🍻
One of my favorite scenes.
Dude this scene randomly popped into my head today…
Sobel was definitely the “enemy”!
“Band of Brothers”. Absolutely awesome series on ww2 based on real soldiers and stories. Best ww2 or any war series for that matter.
🍺🍺
Great,great series.
Great show. 👍😎🇳🇿✨
England never became the same afterwards.
I love how he discreetly- points to his lower rank
Ya gotta love the fact that the gentleman has a sense of humor despite the inconvenience
He rides that bike because he can barely walk, A modern concept people including myself 6 miles was just a "walk" no cycle required
GREAT SCENE GREAT SERIES
Always wondered why sobel wears that jacket 😂
I even bought the same jacket for this.
That old British man might be a ww1 veteran.
Probably the best episode
Experiencia, valentía y astucia
This is the first and only scene ive seen in BoBs and i remember it fondly
Hi ho, SILVER 🗣️🔥🔥
Ross's grandfather was not popular in Easy Company.
In the french version Soebel s screaming
"cura heeeeeeeee"😂
@@limbsteph2570 I always wonder why they make little changes like that. Maybe they just think the French won’t understand hi ho silver lol
Wars gotten more intense. WW2 was crazy and terrible, but atleast they didn't have metal death mosquitos.
Excelente série, música maravilhosa
My dad used to haul his bike around in a high gear. He was fast but talk about making hard work of it.
Imagine if bro pulled a turbo
And the flies go at mach speed 😂
I'd like to think this dapper fella fought in the Great War and perhaps before that as well.
War never changes, huh?
What gets me is the Major is a Brit in real life
Sorry I just noticed he wasn't a major in this scene
Che grande serie 🎖️🎖️🎖️🎖️🎖️💪💪💪💪💪💪👏👏👏👏👏💯💯💯💯🥇🥇🥇🍺🍺🍺🇮🇹

My first time seeing the original clip. I only knew about this one through hoi4 meme LOL
Just so happens they’re just in time for tea.
Set me off now. I'm going to watch Band of Brothers again.
Enjoy🍺
ลุงผ่านมาแล้ว และตอนนี้ลุงก็ปลดเกษียณแล้ว รักษาตัวให้ดีไอ้หนู
English gentleman then invited the Yanks home for tea!! 🇺🇸 🇬🇧 👍
Don’t be too dismissive on Captain Sobel 😂😂 Land Nav is hard for some people
Great movie
Men were men.👊
one of the best war movie,,
Absolute
It's a series
Clearly the height of Summer in England
The Dickens you say!?
I laughed that he still calls us Yanks😂
😂
Band of brothers, excelente!!
Lanes close to the village of Essendon, Hertfordshire. Still looks much the same but there would have been hedgerows in the 1940s.
I’d love to visit there someday.
爺ちゃん、第一次世界大戦で従軍経験のある世代なのかな

Great TV

Expected comments: "My uncle trained as an infantdyman in England and met with locals... [some anecdote following]"
"This scene is actually 100% depicting a true event, only there were birch trees in the background."
"It's amazing what these guys went through, running around with all that gear and stuff."
😅
Love this scene
Братство по оружие отличний фильм.советую смотреть сериал.

Yea paint labor has gone up. But these wrap fools. It’s like trying to carry around your favorite mint baseball card in a wallet. Fuck it. It’s gunna get hurt. Why make it more expensive and hurt
Those hedges aren’t so big in the English countryside now are they?
Depends on the farmer. But yes normally much bigger. In the North at least.
@markward8136 pretty tall in Ireland ,too
When I rewatch this episode years ago, couldn’t help but think that the show put that in there to give a clue as to why the allies had so much trouble after D-Day in France dealing with the French hedgerows.
Quite a bit taller in South wales
The Pacific or Band of Brothers? Which one ya guys like better
"PIVOTT"
😂😂😂😂 már biciklizni sem lehet nyugodtan?...🤔 Jaá ww2? Akkor ok.
