    The egt gauge is thermistor, the liquid and gas is in the stainless probe. The warmer the probe gets it decreases in resistance and colder it increase. The resistance values are scaled as a temperature when they are read bye the gauge.

    Come a long way the old GQ. I'd run the pulsar wheel in it to keep that daily driver/comfort feel and look. It's a 4WD and not a racecar after all. Little side note, stick a multimeter probe in the coolant when it's running and check for a small charge going through the radiator. I installed a water gauge like that and did two radiators in the space of six months due to electrolysis eating a hole in the fins👎

    everyone hates the SCA Guages but i honestly didn't have any issues with mine the only issue that i did find is the egt flips out a little when its wet but dries out pretty quick due to heat. but from reading the facebook heros i suspect half of them just had shit wiring or hadn't read the instructions like in regards to the low pressure warning and stuff haha

  • @davidpaterson2643
    @davidpaterson2643 Před 3 lety +2

    That setup for that water temp sensor is terrible, there are only 2 spots that work well, A, beside the factory under the stat (drill and tap existing to the left of OEM, or get a GU housing that has a spare port).
    B, drill and tap the oil cooler housing (its the best spot but a prick to do unless your actually replacing the cooler).

  • @michaelcalvert4664
    @michaelcalvert4664 Před 3 lety +1

    Those pyro gauges don’t use fluid in them like you said the hotter the sender gets in the manifold the less resistance it has and the higher the gauge reads the stainless outer coating is just to protect the wiring in the engine bay from heat
