  • A fantastic road cycling trip into the Yorkshire Dales National Park in search of scones and Flapjacks. If you are a keen cycling enthusiast and are looking for some ideas of places to ride your bike, then why not take a moment to see what happens when I take the GoPro out for the day.
    With maps, narration and so much more, I hope my videos offer you an insight into what it is like to cycle in the Pennines and in the North West of England.

    Nice ride and when the wind's light the nature sounds add to the sensory overload of dales riding. Had to chuckle at the cafe bird - it knew the routine! The Thorpe road you looped around is incredibly narrow in places - can be a bit flinty after heavy rain - one for the heavy tyres.

      Hi Gordon, we had a Robin and a Blackbird feeding out of our hands on Saturday at Bowness.
      That ride you did over Wycoller was hilly ! Well done 👍
      I did that section once with the ABC gang in January a few years ago and the sun never gets to shine on the tarmac. When I heard them words "Ice" on a descent, the language was choice 😬 had to push the bike in sections it was that bad.

      Some would say scooby that your very irresponsible travelling that fast and risking life and limb in what can be potentially a dangerous situation, but some would say “bugger it, what a blast” 😂
      Sounds absolutely amazing. I’ve only ever been that fast a couple of times and when I’ve looked down at the tarmac underneath me rushing past, i then get a massive sense of being alive….. there’s nothing like it. Your lucky scooby living in such a beautiful place, although I’m not so sure about all those hills. Take care scooby and drop us all a line if you reach that magical 50mph 😳😂👍

  • @lcsdw01

    Since buying a Garmin GPS (a basic one) I have managed to plot rides well away from the main roads and like yourself Daz enjoy the peace and quiet of the country roads where the only “noise” is pure silence. Around Malham last week was so lovely away from many cars. Would advise any new cyclists to get a sat nav for the bike and don’t rely on memory for your routes as I’ve found since buying mine I’m enjoying my rides so much more and have seen so many “out of the way” villages. Until my heart gets back to full strength I’m loving the rides and especially the “acknowledging” nods or “ow do” from fellow cyclists, really makes me feel like we are a family. 😀

    • @MrDazP1adv3ntures
      @MrDazP1adv3ntures  Před rokem +1

      The Garmin's can be fine tuned to suit your preferences and I rely on it quite a bit for live map reading too whilst I am riding. I always look at the map the night before to come up with an idea and have also started to go back to the same places and overlap the routes - a bit like the Olympic games rings on the flag, that way my knowledge is broadened about the particular area.
      There were plenty of " How do's " and "Hey up's " on yesterday's ride, I can tell you that.
      Wishing you a speedy recovery too ☝
