Fulda (Sun of my soul, thou Saviour dear) Descant by John Ross

This hymn tune appeared in William Gardiner's "Sacred Melodies" (1815), a collection containing adaptations of melodies by such composers as Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. It was given there as "from Beethoven", but Gardiner could never remember just where he found it. No-one since has been able to identify its source and the tune is usually thought of as being by Gardiner himself.
