For me, that only happened after the infamous subtitle-incident at Op1. For those who are not familiar with this incident: Lucie Horsch was being interviewed on Live TV, with automated subtitles for the hearing-impaired. However, the person in charge of finalizing the automated subtitles couldn't handle her talking speed and exlaimed: "Can't you talk a bit slower, b!tch" wich of course was picked up by the computer and actually shown on screen...

People need to understand that no matter what instrument you play, learning to play ANY concerto is an ENORMOUS EFFORT that requires years of dedication.
Unless YOU have secured that incredible accomplishment, you can have no real idea how hard it is to do.

@@gejo1008, it's interesting to see that among the six harpsichord concertos bundled up by Bach himself, 1052-1057, there are his own transcriptions of the two most famous violin concertos, and a Brandenburg concerto, and some including this one composed of existing, or later reused cantata movements. Check out yourself and enjoy.

It’s not unusual (in fact it’s generally preferred) for soloists to memorize their pieces. She probably did spend hundreds of hour working this piece but the memorization would have been the easy part of that. By the way, “sight read” means to play at the same time as seeing the music for the first time, not the act of performing with music in front of you.

Wow! Beautiful performance -- as always!
I'm encouraged and enlightened to see that Amsterdam has figured out how to present concerts safely and has been doing so for the last month! As an American musician who last performed on February 23rd, I must admit to being a little jealous, as it seems that we in the US won't have live classical music performances at least until some time in 2021 at the earliest. Thanks to the behavior of a whole bunch of idiots here, we can't have nice things like health and safety -- or live music performances by more than a few players streaming over the internet, some of which get hacked!
When we the pandemic finally passes, I hope you'll come to the west coast of the US and perform in the San Francisco Bay area. We have some fine baroque ensembles for you to play with and it'd be great to hear you play a recital with music from other periods as well. Thanks for posting this uplifting performance today!

Thank you TwoSet Violin. I searched Lucie Horsch's newly minted channel immediately after watching the roasts and responses and instantly became a fan/subscriber. I have been enjoying professional recorder music from Michala Petri and others for years. However, I always resented how primary school music education in the U.S. treats the recorder as simply some sort of gateway instrument to learning music. The recorder is much more than that. School music should introduce the recorder with more context and appreciation for it's history as the original 'flute' long before the flauto traverso came into the scene and assumed that namesake. Lastly, there are too many bad cheap recorders on the market that amount to near torture instruments for anybody who has to hear them being played.

Lucie Horsch AND Sarah Jeffery playing WITH 2set... Well, actually with that many musicians on youtube (TheDooo, Davie504, Charles Berthoud, 2set, Sarah Jeffery, Lucie Horsch and i bet I barely know musicians on CZcams), there are so much collabs to think about^^

Bach had op zijn reis vast en zeker en zeker en vast ook een blokfluit bij zich want dit zo hoopvol en vol van verwachting. Dit is zo prachtig dat ik er jaren mee vooruit kan !
