    Dear Tony,
I was watching your interview with Martin and want to thank you for your comments regarding education and self-education.
I am conducting my PhD on Design Innovation in Rowing, you could say it is trying to understand design adoption hesitancy in our sport.
Can I ask, to what extent do you feel a coach is able to act on adopting a novel design innovation?
It is one thing to say that a coach has to educate themselves, listen to their athletes and be open to new ideas ... my question is ... do coaches have the capacity to go beyond orthodoxy?
I would love to understand your thinking on this.
    Kind regards,
    Ian Randall
