Personally, when I had to perform and we had waacking for one song, I simply had to practice twice as harder just to get the right wrist movements along with the other parts of my body plus the right tempo and timing with the others and the music. It killed my arms and back for weeks.
yeah, you need enough strength in your arms and hands to execute an accurate waack. it moves so fast that you have to start from breaking it down and gradually doing it faster. and for chungha to do it so effortlessly, she's a really professional dancer!

Waaking/whacking/wacking is not an easy genre. You need to be quick and on point or else it'll look sloppy. Hers was done so well. It was very clean. This routine may have seemed boring to some because of the repetitive movement but if you look at the details of each motion, you'll be in awe....Even her fingers dance!! Chungha my queen!!! 😍

people kept complaining about her wacking but in my opinion I think she's amazing enough to be able to perform with that much energy to wack (as wacking requires a lot of energy) after 7 songs with I.o.I before performing this stage after having to also rehearse it... I dare you all of you complainers to perform seven songs and rehearse this hit the stage performance and after that perform it for real. If you can't do it, stop complaining

Chungha's expression is everything. Despite being really similar with the dancers she filled the stage with her own charisma and she owned her own stage. She's amazing. The waacking was on point, all her gestures are filled her power and confidence. Her stage presence is crazy!

I'm glad she went for waacking (considering it's her style of dance) then the same old usual sexy feminine dance, used in kpop. That's just my opinion. I know it isn't as popular in kpop, but in other places it's known to be ONE of the hardest dance styles and techniques to learn, Even for dancers. You have to learn basic, different types of waackng, and not to mention spending a lot of time getting everyone in sync. Her being here, already means so much.

Well lots of people don't understand whacking even though kpop groups are using it more and more, which is why they are complaining in the comments. But it is a dance style that stems from voguing and there are plenty of great dancers who literally only do whacking. Chungha is really good at it. She does it really powerfully.

NonDancer, what she did was wacking, the movement you call weird hand twirling was a specially that is very in or in trend, only few can do it cleanly. Chungha is one of the cleanest dancer i've seen. Trainees practice wacking for years

people kept complaining about her wacking but in my opinion I think she's amazing enough to be able to perform with that much energy to wack (as wacking requires a lot of energy) after 7 songs with I.o.I before performing this stage after having to also rehearse it... I dare you all of you complainers to perform seven songs and rehearse this hit the stage performance and after that perform it for real. If you can't do it, stop complaining
I like how Her choreo is very communicative.. like you can see that she’s centre yet the whole team work together.. not just to support her but they all come together.. and her expression is really on point.. it’s like she’s talking and including the audience to join.

Her performance is actually so sharp and strong. I really liked it. I do believe however that the single ladies part should have been in the end, would have ended on a bigger high with more impact, but nonetheless great work. Heard a lot about Chungha and she is good indeed :)

Chungha's expression is everything. Despite being really similar with the dancers she filled the stage with her own charisma and she owned her own stage. She's amazing. The waacking was on point, all her gestures are filled her power and confidence. Her stage presence is crazy!

I'm glad she went for waacking (considering it's her style of dance) then the same old usual sexy feminine dance, used in kpop. That's just my opinion. I know it isn't as popular in kpop, but in other places it's known to be ONE of the hardest dance styles and techniques to learn, Even for dancers. You have to learn basic, different types of waackng, and not to mention spending a lot of time getting everyone in sync. Her being here, already means so much.

whatttt. love could be anything? it's not limited to romance. from what i saw, the story went from wanting a boyfriend to opting to be single which portrays love of self. i thought this really slayed. the previous ones were such a lackluster so i was really wowed by this apart from ten's piece.
this is perhaps one of the modst iconic thing chungha did. while the other participants were with other genders performing for the "this love" concept here is kim chungha with women dancing to boyfriend --> single ladies --> run the world.

I can't help but slap my hand to my head seeing the comments about the style she used on this performance, and her own version of the concept 4 years ago. She utilized one of her strengths (which is waacking) and she wants to convey that love isn't just about being in love with another person. It could be also breaking to that bond, standing up, and loving yourself. This is so obvious, people.

Well lots of people don't understand whacking even though kpop groups are using it more and more, which is why they are complaining in the comments. But it is a dance style that stems from voguing and there are plenty of great dancers who literally only do whacking. Chungha is really good at it. She does it really powerfully.

I tried waacking and I looked like my sleep paralysis demon at 3 am. It’s so damn hard, like tf. I’ve danced for years and I still can’t master this style of dance. She is truly one of the best 3rd gen dancers
