World Premiere: Thursday, January 20 at 9pm (EEST)
Electronic music wizard Jeff Mills, in a concert of ritualistic power at the archeological site of Delos, together with Indo-French tabla player Prabhu Edouard, and French keyboardist Jean-Phi Dary. A pioneering music ensemble in a world premiere performance on Onassis CZcams Channel, in which improvisation is the order of the day, set against the inimitable backdrop of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, out in the Cycladic light and air, directed by Christos Sarris.
An Onassis Foundation Production based on a concept by ADD Festival.

Jean Phi is playing keyboard like he is playing drums...He is gifted... I grew up in Africa and listen a lot of African music like Manu DiBango, Papa Wemba...I can understand and feel all the influences! Thank you all🙏💕for the beautiful "voyage" through cultural differences but One destination: Music Unite People.

I have followed Jeff Mills since his days in Detroit to see what this man does with sound is like a spiritual awakening though his sounds like a magnificent artist only through music or better yet Jeff Mills is THE PERFECTION OF SOUNDS

Mills continues to evolve and conceptualise like no other, what a combination and setting - a great part of this was improvised live and it's all the better for it.
All I can do at this point is to give thanks to the beauty of this performance because there is nothing else to say.

@@user-hb1jq3xh5q They were there with the Greek government's, & the United Nations', permission. This was a live broadcast from a UN -approved cultural institute who's done a similar music project before at another UNESCO site. The video production credits list a Greek law firm.

j'ai vu ce trio magique récemment à Bordeaux et leur alchimie est parfaite ! Chacun apporte à l'autre son amour du rythme et de la mélodie en improvisant à chaque date de cette tournée !
Jean-Phi Dary apporte cette touche jazzy et Prabhu Edouard (franco indian) apporte sa voix envoutante et son rythme endiablé de percutionniste (tabla) pour un résultat au delà de nos attentes ! Nous étions tous assis et ils ont réussi à nous faire danser les 30 dernières minutes ! J'étais ému car je suis un grand fan de millsart depuis 1995 et je voyais autour de moi des gens de 20 à 80 ans danser et partager cet instant privilégié de communion avec les artistes : un grand moment de musique et de bonheur !
PS : 1ère fois que je voyais Millsart jouer du tam tam et des cymbales en même temps que jouer avec ses machines :)
I saw this magic trio recently in Bordeaux and their alchemy is perfect! Each brings to the other his love of rhythm and melody by improvising on each date of this tour!
Jean-Phi Dary brings this jazzy touch and Prabhu Edouard (franco indian) brings his captivating voice and his wild rhythm as a percutionnist (tabla) for a result beyond our expectations! We were all sitting and they managed to make us dance the last 30 minutes! I was touched because I am a big fan of millsart since 1995 and I saw around me people from 20 to 80 years old dancing and sharing this privileged moment of communion with the artists: a great moment of music and of happiness !
PS: 1st time I saw Millsart playing tam tam and cymbals at the same time as playing with his machines:)

Music unites. It's a celestial gift. Really honored that a Greek island with such a long sacret history, is a place of inspiration to those great artists. The history lives on.

I just started listening to Jeff Mills for the first time this month. I saw him live at Movement this year and was awestruck at what a unique artist he is. Then I looked up some of the music he played, and realized the magnitude of his work. Learning about the Underground Resistance, for example...I mean how totally incredible. I feel so lucky to have been born in Michigan and lived in Detroit...because it exposed me to not only Jeff Mills, but also a phenomenal music scene!
Hello from Guatemala, the main reason I went to Movement was to listen to him, and I was also awestruck, a true genius. I am also listening and watching every documentary possible.

They didn't settle there to live no? Why do you see it as an act of violation to do this concert there? I think they (or as I know Jeff, Jeff) had a vision to do this kind of concert there and he made it possible and did it, with all rerspect to the spirits etc. that live on the island. It sounds to me that their music is of a high vibration so they didn't scare off any Gods or spirits but rather paid tribute to this island and it's habitants.

Adding acoustic instruments to electronic music has always bugged the shit out of me quickly becoming an overworked cliche. This performance is a stunning collection of so many different things. There are these moments were everyone is in sync that I won't cheaply call magical. Love it!

Jeff Mills is the master composer..
it's a different terms. If a person mixes music even with a lot of external effects, stems, additional midi-controllers, if he's using four decks at the same time and even uses a sampler(for example Roland sp 404) - he is still a DJ. And that's not a bad thing. A musician is first of all a composer, the author of the work from beginning to end. Nothing prevents a DJ from being a musician and vice versa. Jeff is a perfect example of that.
