I have a lot of micro crawlers but after buying and trying the FCX24 I can say that FAIR RC is starting a “NEW ERA” for RC lovers, and with the Hobbyplus partnership they have placed themselves one step ahead of the competition 👏👏👏👏chapeau 🎩
They are doing great things over there! I love to see these new, innovative trucks!
@@CapeCrawlers yes, big steps forward (I started years ago with a losi trail trekker...😂😂😂 a big difference 😂)

Great video and awesome channel! been tuning in for a little while now and you really know your stuff! Thank you for your contribution to RC!
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Yet another great video. Thank you.
Looks like it's time to do some repairs on your course (which is amazing). I really like seeing each vehicle and or upgrades you make being tested and ran on the exact same obstacles.
It's ready for a facelift for sure! I like the continuity of the Mini Moab obstacles. Great way to gauge performance!
Great vid, I think that it looks really cool and performs really well!
Can’t wait to see you drive it more outside when those metal gears come in!
Thanks! I can't wait either. Looking forward to really putting it through its paces once I have the gears installed.
I like the tread design of the tires, looks like they will do great
Really appreciate and enjoy your videos Adam. I been waiting 3 days not sure which mini crawler to get..I work at Hobby Town. Just started a week ago..
# gotta have one these.. the overall appearance is what I love the most.. but the capabilities and adjustable drag brake etc.. etc.. etc.. makes the choice easy today... thanks again, will definitelyget the metal transmission gears.. this will be my first mini of many..keep up the great work..
Thanks for watching! I think it's a great choice and I hope you enjoy it!
that is so sick! i just started the rc crawler hobby and have the trx4m bronco because of your videos
Thanks for watching! Have fun with the bronco!
Awesome looking lil crawler, it was nice to see the size comparisons, from looks of it on video I would say it's more like a 1/24 scale. Looking forward to the upgrades, great video
I agree with you about the scale. Definitely feels like a 1/24 unimog!
Awesome video ! Thanks for all the knowledge 🙏
Thanks for watching!
This thing looks awesome i love that it has portal axels as an rtr
Yes, and with metal gears too. Great value!
Cool looking rig. I picked up my first crawler a little over a month ago and I'm hooked haha. Can't wait until winter is over to build a course in the back yard, I'll keep adding onto my indoor course for the time being.
Best thing about these mini crawlers is the indoor capability I feel! I’m stuck inside for most of the winter too!
Look forward to more videos of this rig. It done awesome for a stock rig. Hope the metal gears get ya back up and running soon 👌🏼👍🏼
You and me both!
Man, have never thought of a 1/24 or 1/18 scale crawling rig, but this thing is exciting! Thanks for the proper size comparison, the portal axles are my favorite 👌
The axles make a huge difference for crawling. The ground clearance on this thing is crazy!
Looks cool!
Need one for the collection
Can’t wait to see it modified.
Coming soon! Can't wait to get it up and going again.
Another great review. Thank you 🙏🏻. I can't believe the popularity of the mini crawler market right now. Seems like a new model hits the market every other week or so.
Thanks for watching! It's such an awesome time to be a mini crawler enthusiast! There are SO many options and amazing upgrades flying all over the place. Love it!
Super excited about this one, I’ve got the Rock Van already which is great but the improved approach and departure angles of the T Hunter will be much more suitable for some serious line hunting after a few upgrades. Awesome video as always man! Aloha from Hawaii 🤙🏽🤙🏽
It's a great rig! With a little weight down low it will be a monster. Aloha! Send me some warm Hawaii weather please!
That little company has really got something going there for sure
What a sweet little rig!
They're doing great things for sure!
I normally try not to get in on these shenanigans so that people less fortunate than myself have the opportunity to get them, but this one is calling my name. Best of luck to everyone and thank you Adam and Fair rc. 🙈🙉🙊
Good luck! I'll do more in the future too!
Yes fair RC great customer service, that’s all I’ve been driving is the FCX 24s They have become my favorite rig
Love the trail hunter and rock van thanks Cape crawlers
Thanks for watching!
Awesome little rig. good luck to everyone!
Totally is!
I’m with you I like the military look, looks great out on the course, I think just a little weight in the front down low the tires will perform great looks like they did pretty good. Again appreciate you sharing
I had the same happen to my Rock Vans gears as well. I've run down like 4 batts since fixing it and love it! I changed the wheels/tires and added the aluminum shocks and its a great truck. I can imagine the T-Hunter is an even better crawler.
Did you install the metal gears? I can’t wait to get it up and running again.
@@CapeCrawlers Yeah it runs slightly louder but it's held up well so far. I noticed it starting to strip on its first run so I ordered them right away.
I'm late to the party but that was a great review video! Nice and informative and the truck looks quite capable aswell!
Thanks for watching!
I had mine one day when I striped the gear box , I broke a tooth off pushing it hard but I ordered a metal geared replacement so that's all good while apart I found you can easily leave a few screws out and just use two R clips under the front to hold the bumper in place and hold the body in place so that was a bit of a win , the battery box box is a little fiddly but if you push the wire and plug though the body then there's more room the fit the battery and balance plug in the box , I also ordered wheel weights I've extended the axles with hex extensions so that should improve the side hilling , I think the tires are good they grip really well so no plans to upgrade for now , great video, stay safe mate .
That's great info, thanks! I can't wait to get it up and running again. I've got some upgrades coming too.
@CapeCrawlers I think the metal gears set or the full metal gearbox is worth thinking about and wheel weights and hex extensions are a must , I did find it tipped over quite easy, I will be fitting oil filled shocks then take a look to see if I can change to a front four link set up , I didn't want to do to much with this truck just keep it simple but I'm enjoying improving things so back in the money pit we go lol , stay safe mate .
I really like the design of this vehicle, I like how the spare tire isn't hanging off the back and can't get caught on things and I like that it has a power switch that isn't hard to get to. I can't wait to see what upgrades you do to it🧐.
It's a very cool design. Love the unimog style and the minimalist body!
I need one of these!! I have the scx24. But this right here looks rad!
Yes you do!
Great video, I’m subscribed to both channels can’t wait to see how yours preforms outside once you get the transmission gears
Thank you! I ordered the high torque motor too. Can't wait to try it!
That is a great looking rig. Nice to have something different to look forward to. Awesome video, I appreciate the content.
Aside from the transmission gears, the first mod has got to be wheels and maybe 20% bigger tires, with a little brass in the wheels. And just a touch of offset, maybe 5mm per side, either hexes or wheels with the offset.
I agree, thanks for watching! I think your mod recommendations are spot on.
Great video. I really appreciate your honest opinion, it makes it easier for someone new to the hobby like me to make an informed decision. For the money it seems like a no-brainer, even with its minor flaws.
I'd love to see a comparison between the FCX24 and this, as they seem to be around a similar price point. Seems I've come into the hobby at a great time for the smale scale crawlers! looking forward to seeing what mods you do. Cheers.
It's an amazing time to be in the hobby! So many great new releases! The main benefit of the FCX is the two-speed transmission and the bigger, more powerful motor. The stock shocks are also oil capable, and make for a nice upgrade. But the T-hunter I feel is more capable out of the box. The approach angle, turning radius, and extra smooth esc are noticeable advantages.
Great video man keep up the great work subscribed
Thanks, will do!
Great little truck, I have fun with it and I'm looking at accessories like cargo net and other military tools. it is a little better crawler on real stone rocks. thanks for the heads up on the trans. gears i'll order them.
It would look awesome with some scale military accessories!
That was awesome up the escalator cool
Great video good review on the T- Hunter
Glad you enjoyed it
Looks like it has a lot of potential! Excited to see what you do with it!
It most certainly does! I gotta get my metal gears for the transmission and get it back up and running!
@@CapeCrawlers 👍
It handled pretty good on your indoor course, with a little of your magic I'm sure it will handle great. Sucks about the tranny, I have the builders kit pickup truck and same thing happened on the first battery charge. Awesome video Adam 👍
It'll be bullet proof soon! I'm excited to start tweaking it. I don't think it will take much to make big improvements.
Can't wait to get one of these!!!
It's a very cool rig!
I’m always exited about other companies in the 18 and 24 market. It’s great for us and I always want different stock body options. This looks like it’s great quality didn’t realize it was so compact and a great price.
Totally agree! I
My son would dig one of these, we have a couple mini crawlers but he's pretty jealous over my FCX 24 I recently picked up. Thanks for the review and the oppurtunity to snag one of these.
That's why I always end up buying two of everything because Axel will confiscate my rigs LOL Good luck in the giveaway!
It’s a fun truck, the only thing I will customize is the servo on axle and a low battery place.
Great video, I fly planes and helicopters and your videos have got me into the surface stuff and I have found I have been missing out 😆
Thanks for watching! The crawler world is a whole other dimension!
Oh man that would be awesome, I’ve been eyeballing this rig just can’t afford it right now
I lost my scx24 a while ago while moving and I haven't had the chance to spoil myself again with one but I might go with this and see what I can do for upgrades cause it seems like it has alot of potential but it's not too high quality in some aspects
Thanks for the giveaway. That truck has a lot of potential for sure.
Thanks for watching! Good luck!
I would just put a little bit of green slime a little bit on the end of a toothpick just a coat the cylinder inside the shock would be a big improvement I’ve done a couple stock shocks that way and they work great
Great review, just wait for a new video with some customization ideas 👍✌️
Nice looking crawler! Nice that someone gets the chance to win 1. Great videos keep up the grind 💪
Thanks for watching! You know I will!
Really cool rig! Love the color and style
Same here!
That crawler course is sweet. 1st time viewer.
Thanks for watching! The course is really fun and I am so grateful to have it during the New England winters!
Looks like a great little truck. Would be great to get one at such a great price that looks like it won’t need much fussing with except for the transmission maybe.
It is great. And you're right, some weight down low would make a huge difference, and reinforced transmission gears would fortify the drive train.
The rigs awesome I’m excited to see what you do with it
It's got big potential I feel!
Man... Looks like another great Rig... I have the Trx-4m for the little kids (perfect with the bigger Plugs) and I own some FMS Rigs and I can say the FMC are way ahead with the electrical stuff and Portals... both just slightly modded but the FCX24 and even the firehorse with some Bodybuild is way ahead... Trx-4m is doing pretty well as well and has some areas he is ahead....
So I love the FMS stuff and the great body Ideas they have I mean Unimog, Van and Powerwagon is just brilliant
FMS, RocHobby, Hobby plus, etc. are really doing great things for the mini crawlers. Truly innovating in the space which I really like.
Way cool! Cool video and cool way to give back!!
It's an awesome rig!
@@CapeCrawlers looks super capable and with a few minor mods looks unstoppable. Is it bigger then the scx?
Awesome Yep I’m here watching
I love it now I am wishing I would have tried this one instead of Trx4m portal axles and metal gears throughout!!
It's a very different beast compared to the Traxxas. Much more raw, but very capable and so fun to watch it roll around!
I'm digging that "unimog" style body.
Same here. It looks so cool rolling through the woods!
I really like the look of this truck and think it would be cool made into a off-road tow rig.
Agreed! I've seen some folks on Instagram turn them into tow rigs. They look awesome!
For 120 this seems to be a great option, awesome video!
Lots of value in this thing. I really enjoyed it!
i want a crawler sooo much. ive never had one it would be so fun.
Good luck with the giveaway!
Got my T-Hunter yesterday, seems a solid truck! Interesting comparing your findings to my own, I've found it is much more prone to tipping over than a stock FCX24, which I didn't expect considering the lexan body, but it'll climb a steeper slope thanks to the wheelbase. Fun comparing it to the FCX24, each truck can do different things better than the other from what I've seen so far. I've found the drivetrain pretty noisy, much more so than the FCX24.
With the battery box, I also found it a pain. Ended up cutting out the cable routing hole to be bigger, so I shove the balance connector and more of the leads down there. It's then easier to close off. I think I may try fitting the battery inside the cab just above the motor.
I wish this had the drivetrain of the FCX. It would be a monster with the two-speed and a dedicated low gear! I am going to try your method with the battery box. I struggle so hard with the stock setup.
I haven’t seen one yet in person. Is there any possibility of modifying the boxes under the sides of the bed? Maybe 2 smaller batteries, with a pigtail? And it would lower the center of gravity at the same time. Then the box on the bed could be used for other scale gear, recovery tools and such.
@@bobbyc167 probably doable if you can find the right size batteries. You'd have to remove the whole body to remove the batteries however, and that's quite a few screws, so not ideal. Using velcro to hold a battery above the motor would be nearly as low, whilst further forward weight, plus a lot easier to do. So I think I'd go that way.
I'm so torn between the 2, but have narrowed it down to these for my first crawler
@@JustinG85 I'd recommend the fcx over the thunter, the better motor and 2 speed transmission is worth it imo
I'm thinking about picking one up to make it a trail tow truck, that thing looks more 1/24 than the fcx24, with some paint on the bed and a bit of weathering it will look awesome
It would make a mean trail tow truck. I saw on Instagram someone fitted a tow crane to the back of one and it looked rad.
I ordered from FairRC a few speed motors and metal gears for my Smashers, stock motor they can't get enough speed to hit my plastic ramps I got for them 😅
That speed motor is SOOO fun
Love the t hunter. I’ve heard lots of good things about it on the web. Can’t wait to when it. 😂
It's a really cool rig. Good luck in the giveaway!
Just got a gladiator but this is next for sure ..I will be rearranging that body mount maybe like the fcx24 where I separated the body and permit mount the fenders to the chassis..maybe a flip up cab 🤔
Flip up cab is the way to go I think
@@CapeCrawlers agree
That thing is awesome!
Agreed!
Your expanded foam course looks great but could use some mod podge and sand or dirt for extra realism and grip
Thanks! I've thought about going over some sections with quickcrete. I've heard thats realistic and super durable.
Been following you and now fair rc too
Good luck in the giveaway!
Wow that is awesome
Definitely impressed, when I first saw it I wasn't impressed. But now after seeing a few reviews I want one lol.
It’s a cool rig! I’ve got some new wheels and big tires ready for it. They look amazing with a tire and wheel upgrade!
@@CapeCrawlers that's what I was thinking, can't wait to see them.
This does look like a cool rig!
Certainly is!
I finally got a trx4m bronco from a rc shop 😄
Like the look of this one. Seems more 1/24 than 1/18, but looks like lots of fun.
I agree, and I kinda like how it fits with the 1/24's! It is a lot of fun. Can't wait to get it up and running again.
pk I do like the drive axles
I love your indoor coures.
Thanks! I am very grateful to have it during these cold winter months.
This thing is sick!
It's an awesome rig!
Looks like it will be a beast with just a few mods, the stock rig already has a lot going for it
Agreed!
I have the cr18 convoy can the gears are doing the same. Nice job on this one
Can't wait to get the metal gears in it. Thanks for watching!
Are you going to review the new proline shocks for the scx24’s???
Probably not honestly. I am not impressed with how short they are. If folks really want me to, I will check them out, but I was initially really turned off by the size.
I really like it, a trailer hitch would be cool for like a little military utility trailer to haul stuff why camp firewood, fishing pole for you can catch lunch 😁👍 if could get brass steering knuckles is where I would start and maybe vent the tires if they ain’t already. Appreciate what you’re doing for the RC community, bunch of my RC friends also watch you might know rock wolf Jim and Jaysen RC great guys well we’ll catch on the next one have a great day
It would look awesome hauling around a little cargo trailer! I appreciate you guys!
Are there any RC that look like this but in 1/10 or 1/12 scale ??
Yeah I like it a lot too, would love to have one I just can’t afford it now. As always love your videos I’ll be following for more until next time peace and chicken grease 😁👍👍😎
Thanks for watching! Good luck with the giveaway!
Cool looking
good review
Glad you enjoyed it
I have a stock bronco scx24 and from seeing videos and everything else it seems like I really messed up with the body I went with. Is that true?
If you're happy with it, and you like the Bronco body, than absolutely not. What matters is how much you like it!
Subscribed to both channels!
Nice video. I don't know which one to choose... This one or the fcx24. The fact is that in the videos I've watched, the trx4m is the more "realistic". I mean, the one that "moves" better. Don't know if it's because of the oil filled shocks or whatever. But it hasn't got portals! Ok, the are not necessary, but I think Traxxas should have done something else, as FMS and Hobby Plus have done.
I really like the effort FMS and Hobby Plus are putting into the mini crawlers. They are trying hard to bring real, innovative approaches to these little things! The Traxxas is very civilized and composed. The FCX and T-hunter are a little more raw. It's a tough choice. $120 for this thing is huge value!
I have been following you since you started and you keep tempting me to get a mini. I really like this rig. I hope I win.
Thank you! Good luck!
Do you have to be in America or will you ship to outside such as Australia?
Good question. If the winner is international I may have to charge a shipping fee and also remove the batteries. But otherwise I dont see a problem with international shipping.
That would be a great rig for my son.
My boy sure loves it. It’s very cool!
You are my favorite CZcams channel even though you definitely love that axial more than the traxxas;) haha thanks for the great info and wish me luck to win this awesome little rig I love it already just watching you play with it haha
I appreciate that! And you're right about the Axial! Good luck with the giveaway!
Do you think the fcx24 brass covers are compatible? Haven’t seen any brass stuff yet.
Good question, I will try it out!
Gonna perform even better with some weight low and it’s a steal for what you get to mod in future.
I've yet to only get and build the scx24 I'm curious to try a new rig
That's how they multiply!
Been waiting all week to see if I win this thing. Got tired of waiting and ordered one. Definitely could still use another to convince my friends into the hobby
LOL! I’ll announce the winner tomorrow around noon EST 👍🏻
@Cape Crawlers this will be my first mini and it's your fault. I was perfectly fine with my 1/10's until I saw you building a course and I was watching it snow thinking man I could be playing in the basement instead of freezing lol
Very cool rig! How upgradable is it?
FairRc already has some good accessories for it like oil filed shocks, high torque motor, etc. And the fact that it accepts most 1.0 wheels means it’s ready for some new shoes!
@@CapeCrawlers oh hell yeah, this thing would be a beast with new tires and stuff
I like your shirt. Also i want to get a 1/10 scale crawler soon
Thanks! I am waiting to get a little closer to spring and then I'm going all in on a 1/10!
@@CapeCrawlers nice! Really hyped for that. Love your builds and wanzät to See a 1/10
Awesome I subbed to fair rc as well👍
Awesome thank you!
Do I have to turn on notifications for fair rc.
Thank you sooo much
You're welcome! You don't have to turn on notifications unless you want to.
have you ever cut your own tires? I like to cut my own when needed.
I vent them as needed if thats what you mean.
Ugh, if it wasn't for a fact that I'm stuck on my monster truck build and trying to build my 1st comp build, then I would totally get this or the FCX24. I'm really interested in the new axial, somewhat interested in the Traxxas, but I have sort of a disdain for Traxxas. I feel like they overpriced their most basic models. I stuck ported axles on my MT24 and am starting to regret it. Now I'm having issues with steering getting stuck in a position, which im not sure what's causing it. I think it might be due to the motor and esc upgrade I did to Brushless, but no clue
Wrap up some projects and then roll the dice for which one to get! Can't go wrong with either!
@Cape Crawlers I thought I was done with the monster truck, then I took it out for a run. Just didn't run the way I was hoping for. I'm about to start on a big project that I was thinking about recording my process. I have a Toyan LS200 inline 2 cylinder 4 stroke motor I'm wanting to make into a crawler rig. Thinking about using the SCX10 frame. You think there will be enough room for motor and gas tank in it? I've never seen one in person so I'm not
Mmk, I'd love to have this T-Hunter. Followed Fair RC!
Good luck!
